You have a decent start! I’d say just look for some 1600-1866 memory as with an Intel build it’s not super dependent on memory speed, especially with 4th gen.
Monitor... just go with a generic 1080p 60hz if super tight in budget. You cans a generic model at Walmart / Bestbuy or Micro Center if you have one in your area.
I've built a machine as well. You will LEARN A TON! You'll REALLY feel like you have a lot more control over your computer, the systems inside and how it all works. BE VERY careful if you do build that you don't skimp. When I built mine I did try to save here and there. BIG mistake. For another 500 bucks (another month or so later on) I could have then had a monster of a machine. So just be careful if you do decide to build. FAR better to save and get the power you think you may need plus more, then to have the gotta get it now mentality and wish you had more horsepower.
Oh yeah you will be good! You can probably run everything at high and maintain some good FPS. If you need to make some tweaks then I guess now you know some areas that can be adjusted!
PC Tech Hustle thanks for making this video. I want the 3600 but I don’t want to pay over $200 for it. I’ll save a little money on a weaker CPU and put it towards a better GPU. I’m a newbie when it comes to PC parts so I guess that will work.
I’d definitely go for more GPU, this game screams for it. The 3100 is very capable and as you see in the video never even comes close to bottle necking.
Great Video, but if ur only gonna play MSF and u have a little bit more money go for an Xbox series X because they run MSF at a higher FPS than in this vid but ye. I'm not an expert on pcs so gotta hand it to this guy
@@PCTechHustle Sure, I get that. However, a majority of people fly their simulators in-cockpit often with glass-cockpits enabled. Glass cockpits are very taxing to the system btw. That would have been helpful to many more folks and perhaps you can gain some subs.... BTW - Thanks for the video, there are some good pointers in there!
Very good video as usual! I have a question I recovered a 128 GB msata disk from a laptop. I am thinking of making it the "boot" partition. Is it better to take a PCIe or Sata adapter?
Thanks!!! I am not not entirely sure what you are trying to ask here, but If you pull a sata drive from a device and install it into another you have to continue to use sata power and sata data connections to operate the drive. You can yes reserve to make that a bootable drive while having other drives as auxiliary storage drives (if that is the question). When you say pci-e the thing that comes to mind is you may also be referring to a NVMe drive, which utilizes pci-e lanes for data transfer. Which yes you can also use that (if your motherboard supports it), and also make that a boot drive. Hopefully that helps!
I think it runs like that because that computer is still clean, but will it be that playble once the computer has been used for other things and tasks?
That is where you are going to get a HUGE hit. You will sadly have to run on everything scaled to low. There are a lot more settings here that can bump FPS. So far better to build a bit higher end if you require all the buttons and whistles. Keep in mind everyone, that FPS over 35 is a waste. The human eye cannot detect it. Especially over 45 on up. No need for it. So better to have a machine that can deliver most of the goodies you require, and have it perform like the video here. Spending TOO much money does have a point of no return.
Hello n iam sorry for my english ... Can i ask something ...what application are used to monitoring gpu-cpu benchmark this game at di up left monitor ? Thx b 4
Is it worth it to get a 5500XT instead of the RX570? Will it last me the next couple of years for next gen titles or should I save a bit and get a 5600XT?
Honestly I’m not super partial to the new AMD 5000 cards but also can’t say enough bad thing to say to stick away. They do offer good value. They might also have even better value once the big Navi 6000 series cards release. For about the same money though I think a GTX 1660super/Ti is a better option.
@@PCTechHustle yeah that's the problem with flight sim lol. I can do 1080p though lol. Hard part is finding the right specs. I'm using flight sim because it's the hardest game I want to run. Other than that it's american truck simulator, and farming simulator lol.
Good luck... I did a video about graphics cards recently... basically nothing is available at normal retail price... everything is very messed up right now...
yeah i am waiting tell next march and throwing 2,000 on a build. built around msfs 2020 what would you suggest ? In like cpu gpu motherboard powersupply and ssd??
$2000 will make for a beast of a build! MSFS2020 definitely demands raw GPU power though. I think a Ryzen 5 6core will be plenty enough of CPU to handle it and most many other games. With money saved on CPU (and having an upgrade path) you can invest a lot into GPU and other things. You could potentially snag a new 30 series Nvidia card. 750w PSU I think most are saying being the minimum for a 3080, etc.
@@PCTechHustle yeah right now i am running a i7 4770k and a 1660 ti but i think i am going to have that in the front room for my wife and youngest son and build me my dream machine lol
Could you please say "all" monitor specifications needed to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 in terms of 1080p, 2560 x 1440p and 4K monitors? With fps in the range of 30fps to 45 fps what monitor refresh rate is best to use? Will a 60Hz monitor be best or a higher refresh rate monitor is better considering fps does dip down to around 28 fps at times and are not uncommon? Thanks for your help.
Fairly new to pc building here and I am considering your build for MSFS 2020, I was just wondering whether it would work if i had copied the same exact build except I swap the CPU for the alternative listed, would I have to change anything else for compatability or for better performance? (as in a stronger PSU or a stronger motherboard) *also thanks for the effort you put into making this video, it was a great video!
You would be fine with the same PSU if you changed to say a Ryzen 5 3600 / 5600. Though probably the hardest thing you will discover is getting the GPU at a decent price. The shortages are still very strongly affecting the market right now unfortunately. Best of luck to you with your build though! Thanks for watching and the kind words!
Hey friend, I have 10400F + 3060 Ti, but while flying photogrammed cities like NY, my GPU barely reaches 60% usage - resulting in a poor performance, around 25-30 fps. I thought it could be CPU bottlenecking, but when I saw this video I just can't believe the reason of the problem is only the low base clock of 10400F, since it reaches 4 Ghz during gameplay. All drivers are updated, do you have any idea of what I can do?
A 3060ti is a lot of horse power. So the only thing that comes to mind is a potential CPU bottleneck. This game though is usually much harder on the GPU. Get MSI afterburner like I did here and monitor the CPU usage too. If you in fact are bottle necking you need to bump up settings on the GPU to make it work 100%. When you have a CPU bottleneck usually you see the GPU usage drop deep under 100% like this. It’s basically waiting on the CPU to catch back up result in frame drops.
@@PCTechHustle Afterburner shows 1 thread working at 75-78% and the others at ~30%. The Dev Mode available in the game tools shows "Limited by main thread". I just reinstalled now, it looks slightly better, I tried a C152 at NY and FPS are between 45-55 close to Brooklyn and 38-45 close to the Central Park. I will keep testing with other aircrafts
@@PCTechHustle I think my problem persists. I believe I have some rendering problems too, and I don't know why. If you look at this image, imgur.com/a/a22oERL, you can see that the buildings are distorted until I get VERY close to them, and that causes a lot of stuttering. At the middle right there is a bug, looking like a vulcan, that happens in some big cities too. The settings are presetted "High".
Thanks! I am not a pilot actually just love flying. Maybe one day I’ll get my private license. My personal rig in short is an 8700k + GTX 1080. I built it about 3 years ago but been adding on to it like RGB fans, etc. I actually have some parts I will be upgrading it with soon that I plan to cover on the channel. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
Yep. When it comes to monitors get the average monitor, but get two or three if budget allows! A lot more fun to not have to keep scolling all over to say program the FMS or operate complex systems when you get into the multi-engine turboprop or turbojet aircraft.
do you have to to upgrade the motherboard or the psu to upgrade to the gtx 1660 super shown in the description? What about the r 5 3600 in the description?
Nah all will work with the current hardware. I’d say you will only need a PSU upgrade if you start dipping into 2060 territory. For the CPU the motherboard is ryzen 3000 ready as unused a 3100. Just drop in the new CPU and go!
Nah. The 1660s actually has similar power requirements to the rx 570 as in this build uses and the Ryzen 3100 and 3600 both are 65w chips. In short you don’t need to change PSUs
It will be close! Though the x-box is supposed to be able to 4k game which this PC build cannot. However this build has massive upgrade potential which an x-box does not.
my $1800 gaming laptop cant even run half as good as this $500 PC. does anyone know how to improve my laptop temps because its really frustrating that i spent so much money on nothing
Great video. Can you comment on the difference between the Gigabyte Aorus B550 Pro AC vs. the Gigabyte B550 DS3H? I was thinking for $20 more getting the Gigabyte B550 vs. the B450 DS3H.
Hey man! Thanks for putting this together. Am I making a mistake somewhere? I am struggling to put this together at the $500 when just the GPU is about $500?
I’d stay away from 6400/6500s, they have reduced PCI-e lanes which really don’t make them a good value buy. Look for RX 6600s or if you are really on a budget an RX 580 as featured in this build can be found very cheap now on eBay / used markets.
@@PCTechHustle Thanks! but I have already bought these just yesterday.. The motherboard is supporting PCI express 4.0.. But is this enough to play MSFS 2020?
Just wondering, how did you download this? I'm playing on a AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with 16 GB of ram and it's been decompressing a Cessna for about 5/6 hours so far. Do you know if this is normal and do you know any ways to fix it? :) Nice vid.
Unfortunately I cannot make a good recommendation in this terrible times. With no GPUs available any budget PC is not possible right now. Thanks for watching though! 😉
Yea I usually resell the PCs I build however that hasn’t been much of a thing lately for me because I cannot build gaming PCs easily due to the horrible GPU markets
Y’all are not that big of a channel I really like y’all content is there any way that y’all have any extra unused part i can have I reall want a pc I can affor one of you do pls respond
Sorry I really don’t have spare parts unless I’m purpose building then or reselling. Hopefully ones day I can land some sponsors to help me with giveaways!
Not sure who David is 😉😉😉... but if your budget is at those numbers I’d suggest going with used parts to get the most out of your money. I have a few videos where I target low budgets and put together pretty potent builds with that. Maybe check out those videos for some ideas!
It is a bit old yes, honestly your best bet might be an Optiplex with a GPU upgrade that could be a good option. Although you can use that video though as a reference at least to try and search eBay or your local used parts market
@@PCTechHustle Yeah but that sounds like a good option but here's the catch im buying it from a shop like its custom built but they're gonna make it for me ill just ask what parts are best in the 350- 370 dollar range
@@KE6DOA So in Europe they came out with a DVD set of the game which is like 10 DVDs. I found out that windows10 are to blame for slow running sims also they throw lots of garbage into a win 10 system that ends up making anything run slow. Lots of these speed tests are BS if you know how to clean windows the sim runs great. Microsoft really sucks.
Good question! Purely for the sake of scalability! Later on someone who builds on this level can come back and add to the same platform. Being a b450 motherboard a CPU upgrade is a very simple swap / replace without having to touch the motherboard/ RAM / etc
I’m sure it can if it’s an older sim but I’ve not ever experimented. This is pretty solid mid-grade hardware so I’m pretty confident without knowing it will run fine.

Yes I do! Check my previous 2 videos!
Wow for the longest time I’ve been looking for a video like this. Looks great. So I should be good with a Ryzen 5 2600 running a RX 5600
Good job my friend, very helpfull. I want to play with X-Plane what do you suggest?
This setup should be great for x-plane too!
Ummm quick question if I wanted the flight sim what pc under 1000 bucks should I get?
That’s a very tough question because GPUs of any level basically are not available...
8K subs u deserve more I subbed
Thanks so much!
Your channel needs more appreciation. Awesome content!! I'm definitely building one when things are back to normal. Excited XD
Thanks! Yeah this is a great build the dang GPU market normalizes.
How about an updated video for 2024?
Great Video, but if ur only gonna play MSF and u have a little bit more money go for an Xbox series X because they run MSF at a higher FPS than in this vid but ye. I'm not an expert on pcs so gotta hand it to this guy
The great thing about PCs though is they are upgradable!
Why only external view? What about in cockpit view with glass cockpit?
Trying to generate more field of view / detail to render to tax the system
@@PCTechHustle Sure, I get that. However, a majority of people fly their simulators in-cockpit often with glass-cockpits enabled. Glass cockpits are very taxing to the system btw. That would have been helpful to many more folks and perhaps you can gain some subs....
BTW - Thanks for the video, there are some good pointers in there!
Luckily my country a custom build is so cheap 1000$-1500$ you get yourself a mid end gaming pc comes with a rtx 3060
@@PCTechHustle hello, unfortunately the question this rule on its own. A pcie adapter card for Msata is almost as expensive as a 128 gb ssd :(
You do really good videos. Your like LTT mixed with jays growing up. I see great things in the future.
Thanks so much!
I think it runs like that because that computer is still clean, but will it be that playble once the computer has been used for other things and tasks?
Well sure overtime performance can degrade with a cluttered system. That’s just a matter of how well an individual will keep up with their system.
@@PCTechHustle great! Anyway, you helped me a lot and gave me hope! With a little more of budget I can assume it can run a little better! Thanks!
For sure! If you can spend a bit more I’d say go for a 1660 super, 5500/5600xt
And when you add full airline traffic?
Shouldn’t be too bad but I’m sure a slight dip.
Spending TOO much money does have a point of no return.
actual decent build for all new parts. Excellent video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello n iam sorry for my english ...
Can i ask something ...what application are used to monitoring gpu-cpu benchmark this game at di up left monitor ? Thx b 4
MSI Afterburner is the app I use for that.
@@PCTechHustle thank you.
I am surprised that you did not used the RGB...
Hah! Maybe some RGB for another build soon!
@@PCTechHustle yeah
Will the Ryzen 3 3100 with the gtx 1660 be good for medium to high settings for microsoft flight simulator 2020?
1660 super would be better but yes. A non super 1660 will just ever so slightly outperform an rx570
Ive always wanted to play this game And This is affordable for me thanks! Im going to save for this and im very happy I subscribed!
Good video! Very informative and helpful! Thank you and happy flying! :-)
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching! Happy flying to you too!
You don't need super high frame rates for flight sims. 30fps is ok, but I want at least 40fps at 4k lol.
Right. And wow! 40fps at 4k. You better be running a 3090!
@@PCTechHustle yeah that's the problem with flight sim lol. I can do 1080p though lol. Hard part is finding the right specs. I'm using flight sim because it's the hardest game I want to run. Other than that it's american truck simulator, and farming simulator lol.
I'm coming over from console so anything above 30fps is an improvement lol.
What would you change to run 3 monitors ?
I’d suggest 3 of the same size monitors and there is a 3rd party software you have to use to make it work. Not tried it myself though
Nice video. Well informed. The problem I'm having is the graphics card. It alone is 400.00. Where do they sell it cheaper?
Good luck... I did a video about graphics cards recently... basically nothing is available at normal retail price... everything is very messed up right now...
Hi! What is your opinion about i5 12400 + 32gb 3200mhz RAM + rtx 3060 ti for Flight Simulator 2020 (MSFS)?
It should do very very well!
Do you have to upgrade anything else to upgrade the gpu?
Not unless you are going for a super high end GPU. If you were you will need a higher wattage power supply. That’s it
What do you think could be upgraded for higher fps?
The GPU for sure.
yeah i am waiting tell next march and throwing 2,000 on a build. built around msfs 2020 what would you suggest ?
@@PCTechHustle thank you so much :D
Can you do a video with the other games to play on this pc
Stay tuned! I’ll have more content on the way with builds in this similar price range.
The settings are presetted "High".
excellent video...so helpful! are you a real life pilot? what is your personal pc like? THANK YOU!
Hey quick question what monitor do you use for this setup?
I was just using a standard 1080p 60hz Dell monitor. I typically use that monitor just as a basic budget standard.
Yep. When it comes to monitors get the average monitor, but get two or three if budget allows! A lot more fun to not have to keep scolling all over to say program the FMS or operate complex systems when you get into the multi-engine turboprop or turbojet aircraft.
Can the mother board support rob lights.
No it does not. It’s a cheap board so those feature you typically don’t find on cheap boards.
Not sure if you've seen the prices of even an RX570 as of now but that alone blows your budget.
Well this video is older obviously. But yeah GPUs are insane right now... any of them...
do you have to to upgrade the motherboard or the psu to upgrade to the gtx 1660 super shown in the description? What about the r 5 3600 in the description?
Nah all will work with the current hardware. I’d say you will only need a PSU upgrade if you start dipping into 2060 territory. For the CPU the motherboard is ryzen 3000 ready as unused a 3100. Just drop in the new CPU and go!
@@PCTechHustle What is i were to upgrade to both the ryzen 5 3600 and the 1660 super would i have to upgrade then
Nah. The 1660s actually has similar power requirements to the rx 570 as in this build uses and the Ryzen 3100 and 3600 both are 65w chips. In short you don’t need to change PSUs
@@PCTechHustle Thanks!
Does this mean that the Xbox series x will be the same referring to the FPS?
It will be close! Though the x-box is supposed to be able to 4k game which this PC build cannot. However this build has massive upgrade potential which an x-box does not.
@@PCTechHustle do you think the Xbox will be able to produce reasonable frame rates? 40 to 50 perhaps?
I'm looking for a computer for $1500 max. is there any which suits fs2020 requirements?
Are there any pre built PCs in this price range that can handle flight sim 2020?
That would be a very tough find given the current market
The series X 👍
my $1800 gaming laptop cant even run half as good as this $500 PC. does anyone know how to improve my laptop temps because its really frustrating that i spent so much money on nothing
Bummer man! So you are running high temps?
Great video. Can you comment on the difference between the Gigabyte Aorus B550 Pro AC vs. the Gigabyte B550 DS3H? I was thinking for $20 more getting the Gigabyte B550 vs. the B450 DS3H.
Thanks!!!
AC = WiFi. Typically also the WiFi boards have a few more features like additional fan headers, better power deliver, ARGB headers, etc.
How times have changed -- the graphics card on that "$500 Budget Gaming PC" now goes for $850. Used.
I know right?? It’s so insane right now!
Hey man! Thanks for putting this together. Am I making a mistake somewhere? I am struggling to put this together at the $500 when just the GPU is about $500?
Absolutely! Thank you for watching! Yeah the problem is the massive shortage of GPUs right now. Nothing is cheap or even available! 😢😢😢
@@PCTechHustle can I buy yours 😂
So great!
Is this specs enough for 1080p MSFS 2020 on a budget:
i5-10400F
RX - 6400
16GB RAM
512 GB SSD nvme
I’d stay away from 6400/6500s, they have reduced PCI-e lanes which really don’t make them a good value buy. Look for RX 6600s or if you are really on a budget an RX 580 as featured in this build can be found very cheap now on eBay / used markets.
@@PCTechHustle Thanks! but I have already bought these just yesterday.. The motherboard is supporting PCI express 4.0.. But is this enough to play MSFS 2020?
I listed all the parts it was a total of 856.45 USD with some cheaper components.
Yeah this was back in a good time when parts prices were not insane...
@@PCTechHustle I been trying to build a pc that is 500 USD and can play msfs2020 since I have a crappy chromebook

what other games can this pc run?
Basically near anything at 1080p high settings or higher.
AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics 2.10 GHz - 64 bit and 8 GB. Can my pc run it (windows 11)
They would likely struggle. I would get a dedicated GPU

Heck yeah! Go for it! You have a good platform to upgrade into.
Just wondering, how did you download this? I'm playing on a AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with 16 GB of ram and it's been decompressing a Cessna for about 5/6 hours so far. Do you know if this is normal and do you know any ways to fix it? :) Nice vid.
Hello,
Thanks for that great video!
What PC would you recommend for a budget up to $1,000 for best results with this sim?
Unfortunately I cannot make a good recommendation in this terrible times. With no GPUs available any budget PC is not possible right now.
Thanks for watching though! 😉

I’m in Europe..
There is a global shortage of GPUs. Meaning almost cannot be found anywhere either online or in stores

Yea I usually resell the PCs I build however that hasn’t been much of a thing lately for me because I cannot build gaming PCs easily due to the horrible GPU markets

will this run on windows 11 ?.. the bad part is internet... 15 down and 1.5 up

@@satyanpatel6403 Is there another way of downloading or installing the game such as a CD or something?
@@KE6DOA So in Europe they came out with a DVD set of the game which is like 10 DVDs. However, it is near impossible to find a set new with a new CD Key, and when you do, it goes for upwards of 170.00 dollars. If you have a family member by any chance with super fast Internet you can lug your PC there and download it. what about plane 12?
Why AMD processor? Other guys have built with AMD. Curious.
