  • Saw GuitarHeroStyles beat this like years ago, and this level also inspired me to make my 2-player demon Duallands (video here) like 6 years ago. I am quite mixed on this one. As I said, it took me a long time to learn. I guess this was because of the duals but really the part that took the cake was the final bossfight, at least before the second phase at 80%. I already don't like bossfights cuz its just like annoying shit thrown at you that you have to memorize and its sometimes hard to tell what kills you, which is annoying as fuck. This is exactly what happened with this level. I probably spent like 50% of my attempts trying to learn how the hell that part worked. It looks pretty intuitive, until you play and realize that a lot of the obstacles are invisible spikes. The best way I found is that you have to line your ship up with the upcoming portals, and I swear, if you leave that boundary, you will die, and 60% of the reason you died was to just, air. Just invisible spikes. It really annoyed me, and to top it all off, the portal transitions are just inconsistent. Going into the ufo portals from an essentially straight fly ship section and hitting the orbs and shit in the way the invisible spikes dictate was really hard to understand and get consistent at. My fail at 75% didn't phase me at all cuz that little section there (the ufo one) is really inconsistent and I died there a lot in practice. It wasn't until really late on that I was able to do the whole thing in a few attempts, and despite the fact that I died at 89%, the last 20% is much easier. I also hated the pre-drop after 8% - the duals were a bit buggy (like the key jump-pad at 40%) and the robot part really annoyed me with the stupid part where the orbs all rotate in a circle. I would consistently hit the other orbs and it would really annoy me. The redeeming qualities of this level lie in the song, dynamic and fast-pace, and the rest of the gameplay. Other than the first cube at the drop, the rest of the gameplay is really fun. The level flows very well with the song and the level is really fun when you can get past the first 20% consistently. Also, it really isn't that hard when learned, I'm having a hard time deciding how hard it is. It's probably like Exploring Space, Grindfury, and Pixel Thingy difficulty roughly? Like it's for sure easier than stuff like Sourcream II and Smoothie I think but idk lol. I'd give it a 6/10 for enjoyment. So more fun than not!
Pentakill is coming I promise, I know I've talked about it a lot in my descriptions haha.
