Ronnie wasn't exaggerating, he was "The Man" in Baltimore! He beat Jake the Snake then Ted DiBiase for each of the NWA Georgia Television Championship and the NWA National Heavyweight Championship. He challenged Ric Flair for the World Championship on numerous occasions including some 60 minute matches. He is right about wrestling not being the same (neither is the town), you couldn't tell those guys weren't trying kill each other. I sat ringside in the 2nd-4th rows and loved it! Thank you Ronnie for the Great Memories!
Met Ronnie when i was 12yrs old, my Dad and ronnie wrestled together in fl.in the late 60- 70s. Yhey use to dive sinkholes in orange groves, i was to guard the life line. He was a great freind to the family he was like a big brother, we are still freinds to this day. He was and is the greatest wrestler and human being
Ronnie I watched you wrestle in ICW wrestling in the late 70's when I was a kid against Ox Baker and Randy Savage. Good to see you are doing well. Thanks for the memories.
Ronnie Garvin a true gentleman. I was a friend of Joey Maggs from Baltimore and he was Ronnie's friend. I glad I had the pleasure of meeting you when you were the Champion. May GOD BLESS you always.
My favorite wrestler of all time !!!!!!! When I was nine yrs. old I had the pleasure of watching him wrestle a couple times in TN. It was awesome ! I got his autograph and I've still got it. Thanks so much for this interview. We still love ya Ronnie ! ✌
I was waiting for this full interview to be put up. I don't know much about Ronnie Garvin, since most of his best work was before my time. However, I appreciate listening to his stories and getting to know about yet another vet's life. Thank you!
I honestly did not know Ronnie was as old as he was. Dang I loved to here his promos because he and Arn Anderson really made you believe it was real and someone was going to be hurt, LOL. How Ronnie is not in the HOF along with Ron Fuller and a few others is beyond me.
Excellent interview. I didn't watch any of the snippets posted leading up to this so I could see the entire interview in one sitting. The wait was killing me lol but it was worth it. Unfortunately, I was only able to follow Garvin's career from 1985-1990 but I was a big fan. Loved most of his run in Jim Crockett Promotions and was very upset by how he was booked in WWE. Seeing him go from being NWA World Champion to being a lower mid-carder, who usually did jobs unless he was facing a jobber, in WWE, drove me nuts. It's great to hear him recount how and why certain things went down the way they did.
Remember when he was Mr. Knoxville? I believe at one time he threw a championship belt off the Henley Street bridge. Later he an Professor Boris Malenko tried to start a rival promotion.
Garvin is one of my all time favorites, and that's no BS, I remember his feud with Flair very well, so damn violent, loved it! And his time spent in Memphis wrestling.
Great interview! I've been a fan of Ronnie's since he wrestled in Knoxville. I saw him fight the Mongolian Stomper and he impressed me so much, I even went to a television taping just to see him again! Great wrestler...the original wolverine, and one of the first anti-heroes! Was always my favorite after that! Thanks for the great memories and the wonderful interview!
Thank you Ronnie and GNW for this interview......It was the 1st. time that I can remember Ronnie ever giving a interview and yes Ronnie we do remember "The Hands of Stone',
Thanks for the interview with the one man gang Ronnie Garvin he was my favorite wrestler growing up and I will always be a fan. I used to watch him and Randy Savage wrestle out of Lexington Ky several times he would wear the Macho Man out back in the day the best wrestling matches I ever saw. Thanks again for this upload
Thanks. I was there the night he turned on Dusty and the night in Detroit when he won the title. Glad he finally decided to do an interview. One of the most underrated stars. Matches with Jake Tully and others were classics
He was. I'm a clevelander too. I remember the texas death match he had here with Wahoo McDaniel when Wahoo turned heel. The matches with Jake over the t.v title. That was a good group. Tommy Rich, Wrestling ll, Buzz Sawyer, Dick Murdoch, The Spoiler, Jake, Ted Dibiase, Iron Shiek, The Irwin Bros., etc....

Tremendous. What a guy. Refreshing to see a guy that wrestled, stayed true to himself, left the business when he wanted (or when it was hunting season), and still can chat about those days w/fond memories. Thanks for the interview!
I only really know him from a 1989 WWF STICKER album and I needed his right shoulder to finish the book😂 I had 100’s of stickers that were double or triples. I’d seen some old vhs’s of him as well(all you could get in the UK) I’m definitely a fan now👍 Great interview .
Loved this ,what a likeable guy, and as always Hannibals interviewing stlye , not interrupting ,asking the right questions, just makes for the best wrestling shoots out there
Saw all the Garvin-Rougeau matches live in Montreal.....real wild stuff....best matches anybody could see....the rivalry was intense....you can find some of these on You Tube. Thanks Ronnie!!
The Garvin-Rougeau feud in 80's was the last great feud of Montreal & Quebec wrestling. Ronnie learned to wrestle at Loisirs St Jean Baptiste on Rachel and Berri from Pat Girard (wrestled under Pat Curry in Europe) where many local wrestlers learned their craft from 50s to when it closed in 1990. Ronnie should be proud of this interview and how he will be remembered.

Ronnie Garvin was great for his time. Very entertaining and physical, the way Wrestling should be. The only think about him I don't like about him is the obvious love he has for money. I understand you should look out for yourself and that you should be compensated for hard work but give me a break. Every program he worked it always came back to money , money , money. Didn't reference the details of the programs as much as he should have. I am not naive I know we all have to live and doing well is important, but at the end of the day we all leave it behind once we pass away. What matters in the end of the day is your legacy and how you lived when you are here. I wish Mr. Garvin the best going forward and I am not bad mouthing him but being over enamored with the almight dollar undermines everything you ever tried to accomplish as an individual. It is best to keep your feet on the ground and your head out of the clouds.
