I read "No talking" and I instantly click the video. What makes my strings last way longer is to wash my hands and rub some alcohol in them, it stops sweat for some minutes. I also clean them with a rug and some WD-40.
Thanks for your comment! Indeed i started talking in my most recent Videos - just because it makes things easier to explain, but i still hate all that "blablabla" just for the sake of it though. My hands stopped sweating (at least mostly) while all that Hand Desinfection was required during Covid.
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist you are welcome man. Some talking is ok and necessary in some cases but I think we both know what I meant. Our skin produces sweat and oils which are poison to the strings, so washing hands and rubbing some alcohol before playing eliminates those oils and keeps them clean. Also the alcohol delays oil secretion. The WD-40 stands for "Water Displacement formula N°40" and it's proven to be the best way for prolonging strings life, at least for me. Have a good one dude and keep rocking!!!
Always got annoyed with the “tinny” sound with lighter strings..been using 10/52 Balls for years along with Dmarzio super D for bridge and Sh6 Jazz for the neck on a 92 Les Paul..it’s like QOTSA meets Mastodon, incredible tones!
I don´t like D'addario sound and stiffness. For me the best sounding strings are Ernie Ball. But they don´t last much. I´ve just installed this set, with a heavier bottom to se if there is some benefit in the sound. Used to regular 10 - 46 ones. I´ll wait the neck stabilize and test it again. I found the lower strings kinda sloppy some times under heavy riffing. Maybe this gauge helps without the strugle of bending .11 higher strings.
Playing Ernie Balls right now exclusively. Sound great and best Bang for the Bucks, no matter which "Sub-Brand", currently i am using the Cobalts 10-52 in E-Standard. Cheers!
D addario nyxl are the best strings on the planet it's night and day with the same exact guitar comparing them with DR, Ernie balls, elixir can't even hang and I used to love those
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist guess it really depends on what you like to play I'm primarily heavier modern metal stuff so the tone from the nyxl pair perfectly for me as well
Thanks for your kind words! I like both Brands, the EB seem to sound a bit warmer and have more tension (maybe like NYXL .11), But at the moment i prefer the EB because the simply are half the price of the NYXL currently where i live and last me as long (since i don't have any sweating hands anymore like i used to have for decades).
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist bruh about your sweating hands, is there any treatment you did, or it was just because when you start as beginner on playing guitar back then? cuz im having that problem all the time, thankss
@@qoreinc3772 Had that problem for decades! Why its gone i don't know. Maybe because of Age (53 now) or because of all that desinfection of hand during Covid?
@@Worlds_Worst_Guitarist did you ever try any coated 10-52 strings by any chance ? (the ones by elixir for example) do they feel any different on the fingers ?

Wd-40? Interesting that sounds like the opposite of cleaning your hand. I’ll have to look into that.
@@cody8992 WD-40 for the strings after you play, it removes oils and makes the strings last longer.
10-52’ Ernie’s on all my guitars strats too .standard tuning .❤
Great!
I use it on Les Paul which has 24.75" for heavy music in Drop D. And it is the best strings gauge for me =)
@@aweriefand who feels for D standard (if you use that tuning too)

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the 10-52 sound way thicker and fuller, can't go back to 9-42, tried it...................

Yes i thought so too. But meanwhile i like Ernie Ball better (again), not to mention you can buy 2,5 Packages of Ernie Balls compared to NYXLs.

Hi, I heared thick strings more causing fret wear down. What do you think about? Is it true?
No, not for mr.
is this ok for droa A 26.5 scale length
Not sure. I don't play Baritone Guitars.
Great video and excellent performance!
Do you prefer the NYXL or the EB and why? Thanks!

Yes! But to 52 😁

Yes, more Bass, dynamic and sustain! Meanwhile i have (Ernie Ball) 10-52 Gauge Strings on all my Guitars.

This video is pointless because you are using 2 different string manufacturers
