I think it only seems easy on the video, we cannot show too much of the walking and tracking because it's boring to watch. Being there walking after these cats can be a few miles or many many miles. It's interesting how different these lions can act and you never know which type you are following.
I hope someday you can experience it.

Why you kill that beautiful animal?
I couldn't tell if the shooter on the first lion got excited and didn't cycle the action hard enough or that it's just a poor rifle to be carrying since it didn't eject fired cases.
I actually asked the hunter. He said that he could see the lion was done and ejected slowly so he could keep the cartridge. He writes the animal and date on it and keep it as a souvenir.

I grew up in the Vrostershoop area were that hunt took place. Walking in the summer time in the veld after a nights rain with the humidity
one can clearly see they did a country mile or two. Just for the folks who think the lions are tamed and pets. Good luck with that though and try next time to adopt one at your local animal shelter. Great job Stevan an Gawie and the rest of the team

Grew up hunting had to to eat i have killed just about everything that walked or crawled used to do it just like these guys until one day a man who had great wisdom changed my heart from then on i hunted only when i had to and to eat, i never kill for the sport of killing anymore to me a life is a life and all lives are sacred and deserve to be lived out.
Amazing how that lion was able to navigate his life in the Kalahari thorn and maintain such a mane. None of the lions I've shot have had a pristine mane.

I don’t understand much, but the shooter guy is great hero with the guarding squad around, but with little pin.
When number of lions increased, government allow hunters to kill lions and minimise the number quantity of lions. Not to do that the increased number of lions will minimize other important wild animals.

It's a hunt
Killing for food is one thing, killing for a trophy's is another. I'm surprised the lion wasn't already tied to a tree like in most cases. Most are bred just for being hunted because the locals will make tons of money and profits. Lions are going extinct now. Soon you will only see lions in zoos because of people like this. Don't kill unless you plan to eat. Anything else is cruel and Evil.
Why not, that's nature. An overaged male lion dies very painful, tear to pieces alive by a bunch of younger males. Not enough, they kill systemicly all of his cubs to get their mothers for producing own cubs. Theys do so since thousands of years.

Hi Betty. Those are to keep sand and stones from going into your shoes, and even more importantly it keeps the grass away from your socks. Once the seeds stick to your socks it scratches you and the day gets very long!
