    Pls don't judge. Sylvie may have attachment disorder or other psycho-emotional issues having been in an orphanage and foster home in a war torn country and perhaps she prefers not being on camera or touched. These types of adoptions can be very complex. They appear excited to have adopted her and glad she is a member of their family. Let's not make presumptions based on edited television footage.

    I am shocked by some of these comments. It is malicious gossip! The comments are so negative and they are being made by people who don't actually know anything about the family. These are real people. They deserve respect on this platform just as they would if they were standing right in front of you.

They show precious intimate moments with their biological kids....n that's it ...they showed an episode where they went for ice cream...she ate from each of their ice cream but when she got to Sylvia...she stopped ... it's so obvious they make a difference between their biological children and Sylvia

    Dave and Jenny I have watched many many shows of yours and love them all but today the show was S4E8 about the dated log cabin which turned out so fabulous but I also saw you two get away all by yourselves for a date night so to speak and you said talked about shop talk and how the day went when you said "wait a minute we weren't going to talk shop or even abut the kids when you both fell silent and laughed as to say that IS OUR WORLD OUR LIFE TO TALK ABOUT, and I loved it so much when you said that. My husband and I adopted a beautiful new born from Wichita Kansas and were so thrilled to get her and hold her for that first time then we had a son happily and now our life felt whole. I have to say talk about your kids all day long if you love it and share their joys of their day and their accomplishments always because it is so hard to miss ONE THING about each childs life and when they go off to college the home is QUIET and lonely and your heart feels a bit empty so be prepared to have date nights to the movies and eating out with friends and fall back in love for a second time but do not miss one minute of them going through their lives. We lost our son at age 22 suddenly and went through rough times but as we remembered him wiht love we still had our beautiful girl to go on and live for and life is good once again with much work and love. So ask the kids about their day at school be there love them as I know you do by listening to your video's but empty nests are hard to get use to so practice now like you did in that series I loved it and love your family. God Bless You from Jeannie Vangas in Kansas

    Thank you Dana so much, for sharing the Marrs' story. God bless you Jenny and Dave! "Fixer" was my wife's and my introduction to North West Arkansas. After much research into the area, we just returned from Bentonville, ( last week in Oct.) and were completely awestruck with the beauty of the area and the complete sense of community. Every person we met was so genuine and open about their experiences living there. Our week there was filled with so many amazing stories and memories. Looking forward to returning soon!

  • @tinacathey8241
    @tinacathey8241 Год назад +3

    I'm just curious why you adopted outside the US?
    They make adoptions complex which is ridiculous. You have a child who needs a supportive family and that should be focus. You have a couple or a solo parent wanted to take a child in and you put them threw the ringer over and over. Most of the kids have been tossed away like trash. Adoption agencies need to make this process earlier so the kids can start living there best life.

    • @marywalker2896
      @marywalker2896 Год назад

      I totally agree. They need to make adoptions quicker for the child. Children need a safe stable environment. Not a long drawn out process. Stop making it so hard and start thinking about the child.

      Bro Like that is not what’s happening at all. 1. They love Their daughter and faced all of the trials and worked so hard to get their daughter home, 2. They have 5 children and adopting another is probably not right for their family dynamic or don’t want any more children adopted or not. Also that experience was probably emotionally traumatising

    I adore Dave and Jenny, but something feels a little off. Sylvie rarely smiles, she doesn't look like a happy child, and you don't see much interaction between them. We see Dave and Jenny doing so much with Luke and charlett, like riding horses and birthday parties, etc. But where is Sylvie? I'm sure she would love to ride horses, or just go see them. She wasn't at charletts birthday party. They got charlett a puppy at the place they renovated,( not for her birthday) . We don't see Jenny taking Sylvie to get her hair done, or really anything like that, why? I'm sure it was a rough transition for all of them like Jenny said, but it just seems they favor their biological children more than Sylvie. As if she made their lives miserable and maybe carry some resentment. I'm sure Sylvie feels out of place, at least that is what it looks like by her sad face. Sylvie was making strawberry short cake for mothers day and Jenny didn't say anything, like "that's so sweet", kiss or hug her. I Pray I'm completely wrong!
