By the time an eye is bad enough that it needs to come out, pets typically can't see out of it. By removing it you're just taking away the pain, they're already used to using just one eye! Bravo to you for taking such good care of your kitties, love to see it 🥰

If anyone can serve a kitty eyepatch, it is Lady.
It’s cute that she already has a “patch” over that eye. My one eye boy loves to make you rub his socket. I think it gets itchy or something. Glad to see she bounced back well.

One-eyed cats are the best! One of mine lost an eye, walked a little drunkenly for one day, then navigated so much better than before. Bonus - less pain in his life! Wishing Lady a speedy but healthy recovery (if she hasn't already) and I think her markings make her even more beautiful with one eye ♥

Since you asked, with that dark spot on her face. I think people will do a double take, or have to look close to notice her eye is gone and not just a dark color or closed. All the love to you and your whole little family. 🖤

I work at a veterinary ophthalmology clinic and I just wanna say, you're a wonderful cat mom ❤ You've done great and it is very clear that Lady is much more comfortable. Those sequestrums are a true pain to deal with and often always require surgical intervention. Glad to hear she is doing so well ❤

Sweet beautiful baby Lady. My brother dog lost his eye but was still the happiest boi. He even became a therapy dog. He passed a few months ago and is greatly missed.

If she had to lose an eye I do enjoy that it was on the side with her black patch because it now looks like she has a regular eye and a Void Eye.

We had a sweet tabby boy named "Herman" who came to us as a stray and then, shortly after, came home after a fight which resulted in him losing an eye. He was a champ and very very sweet and quickly adapted. It was actually kind of funny, in a sad and really cute way, watching him reacquaint himself with the fact that matter and space exist on his right side. Lady seems like a very special girl and and champ like Herman was.
I work in vet medicine as a receptionist: totally not a medical professional here. The fact that you kept on top of the drops is a testament to your pet parent skills. A lot of my clients think they can slack on meds, drops, other Rx stuff. You guys are amazing pet parents. And it looks like your doc is phenomenal! The area where her eye used to be looks beautiful! One of my favorite patients is a one eyed pup who pops in to visit and get treats even when she doesn't have an appointment. Go lady go! Rock that one eye gorgeousness

You did your absolute best, more than a lot of people would have let's face it, and she looks very happy and comfortable and I'm sure it's a relief for her to be through all that.

I come from a family of animal lovers. We would rescue and foster cats and dogs. Seeing Lady be so loved and cared for, and in turn being able to get back to herself, is so beautiful to watch. So thank you for sharing! I'm so happy to see you posting videos again!
Because it's on the darker side of her face it's not really noticeable that the eye is gone. I can't believe how patient she was during her at home care though. Most animals would be biting, scratching and squirming to get away.

One of my mom's cats only has one eye and she really, really loves it when we gently run the eye socket. I don't know if Lady would like it or if you've already tried it, but that's all I've got. (Also, I'm a groomer and my favorite thing to do is tell my manager that we need to file an incident report anytime a dog comes in with only one eye because, "I lost the eye! I don't know where it went!")

She just seems the most chill ever. I have had to try and clean up a cat's eye before and they just meow at me and won't sit still. Lady is just chilling like no big deal.

Had to put my dog down because of a bad eye. She had other underlying medical issues and had gotten to a point where she couldn't walk. We took her to a vet to help, but her eye actually ruptured while we were there and the vet couldn't save her. RIP PJ. So glad you didn't have to go through that with Lady.
Lady is such a good girl. You are wonderful owners to catch the eye early abs try to save it.
You two are such good pet parents, so focused on proper care. Also, 4:28, when cats splay out their beans is one of my favorite things. This helps my headache.

From one pet parent of one-eyed wonders to another (I’ve got two- one was also from a corneal ulcer), we’re wishing Lady a speedy recovery. She’ll be a bit clumsy for a little bit since balance is both hearing and sight, but she’ll have quite a normal life once she heals. Sending you all lots of love.

My hamster also had to have prescription eye drops! Fortunately in her case, it was a minor injury and we were able to save her eye. Funnily enough, she only has one ear...her mom and/or littermates chewed it off when she was a pup.

Lady looks so cute with her lil pirate eye patch 😭 both my kitties were diagnosed with diabetes this last September so I have been doing twice daily insulin shots and lots of trips to the vet for glucose tests lately, so I feel you. They are so worth it ❤

I had a cat that lost an eye and she got along very well after the healing. It’s traumatic to both the cat and the parents but it works out fine. 😺

I was reminded of an old quote from James Hetfield of Metallica, but then I was saddened thinking of Lady missing out on the fun and games while she's recuperating. At least there's one more set of hands to take care of her now, and one more lap to sit on.

get well, baby. one of my cats had to have her ears and most of her teeth removed but is so much better.
This is why I couldn't be a vlogger. If I had to get up at 2 am to put drops in my cat's eye, I wouldn't have the wherewithal to film it.
