I'm not sure if this will work, (but I don't think it will hurt to try). Fill your water bladder bag, attach hose with sprinkle nozzle, put in your van. Buy some bags of dry concrete (Lowe's or Home Depot). Sprinkle the dry concrete lightly over your gravel, then gently mist the concrete, so it settles into the gravel. Let it dry well before driving over it. It will crack when you drive over it, but with a little luck, it may keep the gravel from washing.
We lived in California up in the mountains about 55 mins from Tahoe and it was so difficult to get anything delivered or a contractor up to do any work. It was difficult. But I would suggest renting a truck and dump trailer for a week and transport yourself because the bag situation will take way to long.
Look up how to make soilcrete. Basically, you just till concrete into soil, and smooth out. Or if you have a hitch on your van you can rent a utility trailer or buy one and haul the rock up yourself. I suggest if you buy or rent one it would be better to get a dump trailer. Or one with a rolling mat to dump easier.
Rent a U-Haul truck and pickup a couple of yards of gravel from a landscape company it’s cheaper. Also renting a truck or trailer will be easier because you can get a lot of gravel at one time. The landscaping company will know what type of gravel you need good luck you got this!
This is not a failure. You are resolving the issue a few feet at a time. I know $2200 is a lot of money, but when you compute the price of the bags of gravel and liner to complete the whole driveway. Is it less or more than $2200.
Significantly more. It’s $2200 per truck load. Will need 4-5 truck loads to cover length of driveway. Luckily we have found a solution for far less…Stay Tuned😉
The Home Depot in my the area rents a dump trailer. Rent one to go and pick up the road base yourself with your van and the dump trailer. Just a thought.
I saw on another RUclips channel that folks spreaded dry concrete down and sprayed with water... raked, let it dry..it it worked perfectly! It was a trouble area in their long Driveway, which was no longer a problem!
Great video! Just subscribed. We are about to tackle the same issue with our driveway. So glad we found you guys on RUclips. ❤ we have to bust our own stone. The good thing is that it’s sandstone, but goodness it’s still a huge task. I look forward to future videos! Y’all stay safe!❤
I'm just guessing here but it feels like DRY CONCRETE would be a good use...maybe. You can shape it so to push the water towards the outer edges of your driveway. Maybe add the gravel after. Just a guess 😊
I agree with Shawnawilliams263 (about 7th comment below) Also I would remove those nails if you haven't already because if they come up, you could get a flat tire.
Look if you want to get that gravel to your property all you got to do is go to a local rental place with dump trailer and rent that and then go to U-Haul and rent a pickup truck and that's how you get your gravel to your property
I would hire someone who is looking for work that has a truck. Will be cheaper to buy rock at a gravel pit. Make sure to put rock over the pipe you had put in.(culvert) Actually the rock should have been put directly on top of the pipe. The dirt will eventually wash away.
what you are spending in bags you are better off having a truck load of the gravel delivered much cheaper in the long run beleave me please we know what we are talking about
Definitely not a failure. Slow and steady wins the race. Once y’all get it finished you can sit back and relax and appreciate your hard work. 👍🏽

Buy (rent?) a cheap dump truck, pick up the gravel yourselves, then sell dump truck when done? Love your place and watching your progress. Thanks.
Thanks 👍
Good evening, you drive that tractor woman! She got that!

The music is so fitting I really like how you guys arrange your content. 🌄🦍☮️🖤
Put a swales on each side of the driveway to direct the water away from the driveway.

I watched the same show. But, they put the rock down first then the dry concrete added the water & then tamped it down...

Are there any equipment rentals in your area, where you could rent a dump truck ?
A garage push broom might help with removing sand. You have to be patient. You are doing everything yourself. It will take a lot of time and money.

Just like this person said, rent a dump truck you can tow and fill it with rock directly from the gravel supply place.
Great job it would take about 150 square to finish 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤣😂🤣😂 Sounds about right 🤣😂

Hopefully Y’all won’t need a swamp buggy to get up your drive.

Another youtuber added quikrete and water to their gravel, it might work for yall. Life with Kellly All Day
Thanks for the suggestion
Rent a vehicle and haul it yourself❤
