That was the moment when everyone knew that they couldn't see each other again. That is why they looked at everyone for the last time. They were like family. They loved each other.
"You see, not once did the sun ever say to the Earth, 'You owe me'. Look what love like that does. It lights up the whole sky." -Unknown I feel like Uncle Iroh would appreciate this quote. Also, I feel like Iroh had this kind of love for Zuko.
Since he lost his son, he finds helping everyone great benefit. Zuko, his nephew, is part of him. He can't go through with losing him, just like he lost his son. He helps everybody. I miss Mako and his voice for Iroh, I cry for him lmao
In my opinion, Zuko wasn't the best choice here. The line "Pure heart" feels off when you talk about Zuko. Sure, he joined the Gaang to teach Aang firebending, but like, that's it. He literally tried to kill the saver of the world for 2 whole seasons! But you may be thinking "He's gonna say Iroh!" But no, he's not pure of heart too. Just before the show, he tried to take Ba Sing Se for 100 (?) years.
Nadine Depelteau the whole point of the avatar storyline revolves around the theme of redemption. They express that everyone should have a chance to regain their honor. Would you say Aang isn’t pure hearted for running away? Iroh arguably has the purest heart because he was smacked in the face by his own son dying to realize his nation was committing atrocities throughout the world and ruining countless other families. If it wasn’t for Iroh’s redemption, he would not have been there to extend Zuko the same olive branch he was given back when he was a General. Zuko is still young, but at age 16 he had already come full circle and made the redemption arc nobody thought was possible, which is why he was the perfect man for the position
I love how the first season is a little bit "limited", but then Nickelodeon saw how it was such a hit, so they let the creators do what they wanted. Remember the episode "The Puppeteer" with the bloodbending ? And yeah, it's a cartoon...

At 3:11, it's the point where all of the characters look at each other and Sokka just nods as they're about to split up. You as the viewer think, wow, this is it; What this whole series has been building up to is about to happen.
2:33 is where the finale begins and the series ends. The build-up music of the last speech. Avatar's version of Elizabeth's "What shall we die for?", Poe's "They will come", Cap's "Whatever it takes", Aragorn's "This day we fight", and of course Minerva's brief but intense "Piertotum Locomotor". And it's just fitting that it's Iroh who gives it.
Love the way Katara says “Goodbye General Iroh” here and of course I love his response “Goodbye everyone, today, destiny is our friend, I know it.” It’s just that we never would have seen this sort of comfort shown by Katara towards members of the Fire Nation, never mind General Iroh and Zuko. You can tell that befriending Zuko, although it took a while, and understandably so, it forever changed her perspective and she realized that there are loving people across all the nations, and that one’s nation and even past dies not define who they are as a person today.

The beauty of Sozin's Comet is that everyone does their part to end the war no one person takes all the credit: Aang fights the Firelord Zuko and Katara fight to takedown Azula Iroh and the White Lotus fight to take back Ba Sing Se Sokka, Toph, and Suki take down the airship fleet
I love when in 1:56 the song become darker for 3 seconds and the Azula theme quickly pass, when we talk about her everything becomes darker and I love it because it's show how Azula is freaking evil, powerful and scares everyone (my bby I love her)
I will NEVER forget Aang and friends. One of the greatest stories I have ever witnessed in any form, if I am so lucky to go on and have a family of my own, I will definitely have my kids watch this, to show them the value of life and to fight for what they believe in!
This is one of the absolute best themes in the whole show. Iroh made a realy good speech and I love how he brought back Bausingsey. thinking back on it brings me chills and happy tears
This show had shown the effects of nostalgia, the first avatar's gang, Aang's gang, were all dead or near death, lost of loved ones, and everything. It showed life, peace, nostalgia, prosperity, and fulfillment to me, and much more. But growing up I realized that both Avatar's showed True Life, and how in the end no matter how things go, you will always be at *peace* in the end, no matter what.
loved avatar so much as a kid. iroh rlly speaks to my soul now that i'm an adult. his quotes are deep and incredible. i love how this soundtrack sounds similar to the main theme.
They could choose a faster uplifting music. Two Steps From Hell style. but instead they came with a much more complex and deep music what catch perfectly the emotions on this fight, between two brothers.

1:57 i honestly can’t believe i never noticed until i became an adult, this motif of azula’s theme when she is briefly mentioned in the scene. it really alludes to the impact of this whole scene of team avatar gearing up for their final goal of striking her down and approaching their final battle. goosebumps man, this show had brilliant writing from the orchestration, to the storyboard, to the dialogue. truly a timeless series

R.I.P Mako
Which Mako?
KATheMinecrafter mako was the original voice of iroh, i believe luke is saying rest in peace to him since he died.
KATheMinecrafter The only one that's actually died. Also, the only one involved with the original series.
The beauty of Sozin's Comet is that everyone does their part to end the war no one person takes all the credit:
Aang fights the Firelord
Zuko and Katara fight to takedown Azula
Iroh and the White Lotus fight to take back Ba Sing Se
Sokka, Toph, and Suki take down the airship fleet
I love when in 1:56 the song become darker for 3 seconds and the Azula theme quickly pass, when we talk about her everything becomes darker and I love it because it's show how Azula is freaking evil, powerful and scares everyone (my bby I love her)
I have a deep connection with this show, words aren't capable of expressing my emotions. I've been in love with ATLA for 13 years
I will NEVER forget Aang and friends.
Ba Sing Se...
sorry didn't mean to miss spell it
misspell...
sorry
^^;
This show had shown the effects of nostalgia, the first avatar's gang, Aang's gang, were all dead or near death, lost of loved ones, and everything.
It showed life, peace, nostalgia, prosperity, and fulfillment to me, and much more.
But growing up I realized that both Avatar's showed True Life, and how in the end no matter how things go,
you will always be at *peace* in the end, no matter what.
The funny thing about destiny zuko is that you never know what will happen.
Best music ever nothing is better
loved avatar so much as a kid. iroh rlly speaks to my soul now that i'm an adult. his quotes are deep and incredible. i love how this soundtrack sounds similar to the main theme.
"someone new must take the throne. an idealist with a pure heart and unquestionable honour"
"Today, destiny is our friend. I know it" Dmn. This quote and the music that plays with it just pumps me up
Iroh and roku are two of my favorite characters ever created. Im so happy i grew up with this amazing show
Perfect. This is one of the most beautiful themes I've ever heard, as well as one of the best scenes in animation history.
"I'm going to reconquer my tea shop. and I'm going to play Pai Sho EVERY DAY"

Today is January 1st, 2018. The New Year is here...and this year, destiny will be our friend. I know it.

They could choose a faster uplifting music. Two Steps From Hell style.
but instead they came with a much more complex and deep music what catch perfectly the emotions on this fight, between two brothers.
Ever heard the last agnikai
In memory of Mako Iwamatsu
Born: December 10th 1933 in Kobe, Japan
Died: July 21 2006 (Aged 72) In Somis, California.
He played Iroh in Avatar the Last Air Bender. (One of My favourite characters) Remember him. :3
Mako was the name of the man who voiced Ihro in the first two seasons before he passed away from cancer. Mako from the Korra series is named after him.
I watched this show a year and a half ago, back then i was thirteen, now im fifteen, and i just realised how depressing it must is for all the college students to see this show again and again since they were in school, life mustv been so different now from then
I find it really cool how there's a part of the music that reminds me of that violin piece called "Experience", because experience is something that uncle Iroh is totally has
I started watching this ahow like its stupid and childish but now i realize that this show is better then almost any other show on the planet
“Today, destiny is our friend! I know it!” Chills every time!
2:32 we're in the endgame now
fucking love avatar, watched all of ATLA in 3 days. after my exams im going to binge watch Korra then cry.
Iroh is the best character of Avatar.🤩
The ending to these songs are always so powerful…
1:57 i honestly can’t believe i never noticed until i became an adult, this motif of azula’s theme when she is briefly mentioned in the scene. it really alludes to the impact of this whole scene of team avatar gearing up for their final goal of striking her down and approaching their final battle. goosebumps man, this show had brilliant writing from the orchestration, to the storyboard, to the dialogue. truly a timeless series
Sozin's Comet. Either part 2 or 3. During his "Destiny is our friend" speech.
I’m here feb 2022 17 years after the boy in the iceberg. Still remember every episode vividly.
GOD DAMMIT FEELS Y MUST U BE SO REAL
Listening to this is cue time for a massive feel trip... *sniff
2:52 This is always the kind of track I listen for in the lead ups to epic conclusions to epic stories like this, that sort of hook that lets you know sh** is about to go DOWN, and it is going to be AWESOME. So many feels and goosebumps. Just from a few small, well-placed notes combined with a very good line: "Today, destiny is on our side. I KNOW it."
I remember watching this show when I was only 7 years old. It will always be my favorite.
Iroh
Iron: ' Destiny is our friend, I know it'
"Who are *you* , and what do *you* want?"
i love 2 cry and die
Listening to this gives me goosebumps.
This part is the best part of the entire show
This music represents the time of winning or losing; everyone has to do their duty
Strangely this is the song that makes me the happiest/saddest. The avatar gang on the precipice of victory and planning attack, holding on to hope as if it may be all they have.
"After I reconquer Ba Sing Se, Im going to reconquer my tea shop. And Im going to play pai sho every day"
I think we can all agree that Iroh wasn't exactly the most important character for the most part but damn, did he make his mark, R.I.P Mako 😢
pls stop posting those amazing speeches / quotes it makes me cry evritiem
15 years this shows been around, and I love it even more now than I did as a kid. My wife and I just finished the show again last night and this song is one of my favorites. We watch it at least once every year and with it recently coming to Netflix we figured now was the perfect time this year.
It's 2020 and iroh is still my favourite character from any show I've watched with by far the most impactful character on my life, he taught me a way when I felt like there really was no way for me
that ending man, straight chills
this show is too good
“Make tea. Not war.” - Unknown
"After I reclaim Ba Sing Sei, I'm going to reclaim my tea shop, and play pi sho EVERY day!"
