I don't understand why people said that the film wasn't the best, the plot is simple, sure, but the special effect was just too good, when we know that the film is only 11 years old...

It’s the western that decide to pronounce him “aang” at first. For an Asian like me I’m okay to call him Ung. Also some of ATLA culture is unappreciated and not respect to the oriental culture for example let a 14 yo girl kiss a 12 yo monk boy.
In short, just the western say it AANG isn't the point. For me UNG is okay. It's the plot that is terrible. BTW I still enjoy the film when I saw it at the first time though I'd only seen a few episode before the film release. I'm okay with how Zuko looks in the film (I think his original 'ponytail' is hilarious and it's how the western makes the Asian-look character weird). I'm a bit okay how all Fire Nations are Indian look (Ozai looks like a Roman emperor) I've rewatched it several times and it's still awesome for me.

The title is just what James Newton Howard did to write this masterpiece, he let his emotions flow like water.

People say its a bad movie its not a bad movie when you look at it from a certain perspective without the cartoon in mind its just a good high quality movie with famous good cast people bending stuff love hate and much more
Imagine if they did another live action movie, and this music plays at 5:19 when Zuko challenges Ozai to an Agni Kai, Ozai agrees unawares that Zuko can redirect his lightning attack then 5:45 plays as Ozai looks on in shock, Zuko leaves the waroom to pursue Aang on his war balloon. JUST IMAGINE
That would have been incredible just incredible. Why aren't you the director actually you should have been the director especially if you matched the 5:19 soundtrack perfectly with zuko and ozai

@@gamesmovienation3516 For the beginning of the third and final film I would have the Roku and Sozin episode. Near the end of the intro when Sozin is talking about hunting the new Avatar, " The last Airbender" we cut to Aang waking up. IMAGINE THAT!!!!!

Never saw the movie (from what I have heard, I didn't miss much), but I am absolutely OBSESSED with this song. James Newton Howard did a splendid job. This is tied with Salamander Eyes (Fantastic Beasts 2) for my favorite songs by him.

As long as you like the movie, that is all that counts. I liked the movie too. And I thought the kid who played the Avatar did a good job. He goes around the country performing this Avatar routine and inspiring kids in martial arts, he's an amazing martial artist. Look him up here on RUclips.
The music makes up for the movie 1000%.
The comedic element just flew out the door on this movie compared to the show. I would've liked to see the humor. The anime played with our emotions as you watched the characters go through certain things in the show. With the movie we did not have that. It was monotone.

The only thing they did right in this movie was showing the devastation Aang had to feel knowing what happened to his people, remembering it all so clearly. Even as a realistic portrayal, that wave was far bigger than any one waterbender could have created alone. Aang might have been able to do it without the Avatar state, but still.
Also liked the complexity of the Airbender tattoos

A mi también hasta ahora me gusta lo disfrute en el cine no entiendo porque dicen que es mala en fin quién los entiende para gusto y colores
Viste el show original verdad? Me refiero a la serie, en si la peli está muy mal hecha, el cambio de las razas de los personajes fue innecesario, el mal pronunciamiento de algunos nombres (Aang para ellos se decía UNG), al avatar Roku lo cambiaron por un dragón que habla siendo que los dragones en la serie nunca hablan, la escena de los maestros tierra siendo prisioneros en un lugar rodeado de....tierra, en fin podría seguir mil años y nunca acabaría, esta peli es una falta de respeto.

I hate the movie with every part of soul... but I'll take the existente of that movie because of this song. Just a phenomenal piece of musical score that deserved a much better movie to play along.

Its like you can never fail on music but the movie itself. And Im glad that music was atleast good. If we could remove the movie and keep the soundtrack and make orchestra in an Opera house that would been something. Just like that theatre episode in the show.

Fantastic Movie and Soundtrack
The soundtrack is great, especially this piece. The movie was good in its own way. you can actually still like the movie while holding the Anime in high regard.
It fixed some things the show got wrong like the ethnic name pronunciations and Aang's Buddhist beliefs.

But the film itself is meh! If only this movie had stayed true to the cartoon with good casting choices akin to the characters' ethics, accurate name pronunciations like Aang, Sokka and Iroh, accurate characterizations of Aang, Sokka, Zuko and Katara and maybe a two-hour length with all the subplots from the TV series into one movie similar to Lord of the Rings, it would've been one of the greatest live-action adaptations of all time.

Dude, I love the soundtrack but I fucking hate the movie. Shyamalan, who directed the fantastic Unbreakable, ruined my childhood with this terrible film. At least James Newton Howard was able to create one good thing out of it. No, this soundtrack is amazing!

Could you imagine the backlash if they would have made the other two books into movies like they originally intended? That would have been the end of Shyamalan”s career in my opinion. I’m glad he was smart enough to realize his mistake.
@@jramcool768 I feel like Shyamalan should have done Book 2 at least, mostly because theres no payoff with that Azula cliffhanger and we never got to see how he would've done Toph. And I think he would have learned more as a filmmaker after the negative reception of the first film instead of completely abandoning the sequel. Michael Bay produced a better Ninja Turtles movie after the negative reception of the 2014 film.

In my eyes this scene was the final middle finger, Shamalan gave to the fans of the Anime.
Because he showed them that, yes,the COULD'VE done this right.
Instead he chose to whitewash the characters, make them compete idiots and let five earth benders move a floating pebble.
We need a documentary on who made all these random decisions. From deliberate mispronunciation of every single name to making every bad guy/ background actor colored except for our 3 good guys 😂
I saw the movie first before anything else and thought it was pretty sweet. Screw all the salty people throwing shade on this film.
