Gatlin has really aged well, in physique and personality... you can tell he is genuinely enjoying himself, and happy for the youngings
I like Gatlin. Such an elder in the sport now..
He is objective
Gatlin has always been a handsome guy

If Tobogo, is that good, why hadn't he ever beaten Noah before?

Being a Jamaican, Justin Gatlin was never a favorite of mine. Nothing personal…just business. I’ve gotta admit that over time he is growing on me. He is insightful, measured and thoughtful. He brings a realness and clarity to what happens behind the scenes that regular folks never get to see or experience. His passion for the sport seems undiminished. I just subscribed to the channel- something I never thought I would do. Nicely done Justin…
I’m a Jamaican and Gatlin has always been our favorite athlete in my household. In fact, my daughters and my friends I mean all of us was Gatlin fans out of the few Americans. We liked Tyson Gay too
I appreciate these two gentlemen so much. Their opinions and analyses are clear, informed and unbiased. I also have to say that Justin seems to be a very warm-hearted human being and I like him a lot now.😊
@@dorrettfielding8181 He’s an Aquarius just like me. Very fair in judgement. Don’t sugar coat and I can see the humanitarian side of him coming out. Not many people can see that but he’s a humanitarian 🇯🇲

I'm sure Gatlin won't lose any sleep over you liking him or not...lol
That said, I never cared for Usain Bolt, and I'm sure he doesn't care.
Wait a damn minute: Lestlie and Kenny also ran the full 100m including the rounds! And both of them beat Noah in the 200m final. They too went thru the rounds for both events. So why are y’all making excuses for Noah? Plus, Tebogo did 3 events!! He also did the 4x4 relays!! Including leading Botswana to a silver medal!! In total, he brought 5 (1 Gold and 4 Silvers) medals to Botswana!!
They beat him in the 200, he beat them in the 100.
he was affected by covid

I literally had to screen record it
Something that shocks me. The only people who pronounce the name correctly outside of Africa probably.

Fun facts about Letsile’s names and their meanings.
Letsile means “it has arrived/arrival” usually for something that starts with an L. I am not sure what the person who named him was referencing but it makes sense to me that maybe it was either sun(sunshine), luck, light or the day he was born, and sun and day in Setswana directly translate to Letsatsi. Light is lesedi, and luck is lesego. So to say the sun (sunlight/sunrise) or day has come, you would say Letsatsi le tsile. And for light - lesedi le tsile, luck lesego le tsile.
Tebogo means thanks/thankful.
His full name literally means arrival of thanks.
Either way as a nation, we Batswana are thankful for the day he was born, 8/8/24- the day he medaled, the light and luck he bring to the country.
Tebogo day has a nice ring to it. It would be the day our country celebrates his victory, thanks him and be thankful for all we have achieved.
His win truly meant a lot. I have always sang our national anthem at events. But the meaning behind it really hit home after his win. I can’t remember being so emotional and proud singing it as I watched him on that podium.
Letsile Tebogo o re tsamaetse tota! 🇧🇼🇧🇼
As a Motswana in the diaspora, this win meant so much to me! On the day of the celebrations, our happiness as a nation was so contagious and electric that I could feel every trace of it while being thousands of miles away from my country.
"Fatshe leno la rona ke mpho ya Modimo." 🎶
Modimo re a go leboga! ❤️
Letsile is short of Lesego letsile .his name is literally “ luck has arrived show gratitude"😊
Tobogo put in work last few years. Perseverance paid off!
I told my son the day before the race, Tebogo was going to win. I saw his face in the 100m and just saw the determination. Way to go 🎉
Justin, My Man!! I am Jamaican, I am always naturally routing for Jamaica, but Bro you were always my favorite sprinter to watch. The intensity you had when you ran, man I was like I need to do more with my life..LOL. I always describe your running style as "Controlled Chaos", you ran that thang like it was your last race every time.......what a pleasure to watch you run. All the Best.
And we need to give Bednarek his props too… Noah said he was gonna depress him and not the case and he is getting no coverage for doing great also
He almost beat him at US trials. He was leading him but, then tightened up towards the finish line, then Lyles edged him for the win.
Bednarek could get his pros because of noah liers seeking attention white woman/ Donald Trump behavior he is like a vacuum cleaner
Same thing he did 3 years ago and we expected it
Kenny cost the USA a medal in the 4X100m relay.

Yup, Lyles has only ran faster than 19.46 once and that was 2 years ago
What's that supposed to mean? Tobagot never ran that fast until he just did. Noah still ran 19.7 with covid. And Kenny B ran 19.59 and he hadn't beat Noah all season
Tebogo only ran 19.46 once 😂. Yall are dumb
@@animedebo8183 Tebogo is young and his time was always likely to improve and Lyles is already at his peak. Lyles was going to need to produce one of his best times to win that race, tebogo celebrated before finish line.. And he is only ran faster than that time once
And people keep forgetting that Lyles doesn't run faster than 19.5 when he does the double (100m/200m)
@@animedebo8183Tebogo has run a 19.50 against a 19.46 of noah before so it’s not like that time was never in him, he just brought it out when it counted most and ultimately that’s what being a champion is all about.

Thanks for at least focusing on TeBogo and giving him his props, but no excuses for Noah, no other injured or sick athletes made excuses
Yup that gatlin dude trying hard to give excuses for noah. Not surprised the athlete who got bailed out by his association with the holier than thou attitude.
Noah blew his load in the 100m. Noah knew he was in trouble in the semi of that 200m. If we would have known Tobego was running 400’s like that it was a def lost in the finals. Noah is in trouble this dude is not scared of him. Can’t wait to see the 200 again.

Love your podcast Justin
I wanna see Tebogo run sub 43. If he ever focuses on the 400m.
Bless up justin love from Jamaica ❤❤🇯🇲🇯🇲
Great podcast, amazing insight and analysis. Wish these came out the day after the race
The 100m took it out of him. Simple as that. Doesn't have Bolt's capacity to run his best at both at the same time.
Even Bolt didnt run at 100% his 200m
But his 100m was too good that he could run 200m and win everyday.
Asafa said it: 200m WR is easier to break, Bolt could run 18.90s but he focused on the 100m
personally i still have some belief that a healthy lyles would’ve put up more of a fight, seeing the improvements he’s made this season
No he only did run his best on the day and broke his own records more than once
Asafa is not wrong. All the previous 200 m records have been faster than the current 100 m record times two. This is currently the first instance where the 200 m record is slower than 2x100 m. Bolt himself apparently had an eye out for the 19 s barrier after that, but to no avail.
I think the main issue was they didn't get a day of rest in between as they usually do. It's why some athletes pulled out of the 100 to focus on the 200 or vice versa.
I don't like it when they say he had covid, Tebogo's 19.46 is no joke 🔥..
19.46 with some showboating in the last 20 metres. He could go faster, if anyone wanted to run him down. Tebogo wins that race all day!
Botswana went absolutely crazy when that gold was won! (Im from Botswana 🇧🇼)
And we shouted for him in South Africa,i had tears in my eyes.
You know with all these different channels and host it really makes the Olympics unenjoyable, a platform for people to take digs at the Athletes, and reminisce about the days of old,now anyone can be important .
I dont understand why so many people hate Noah, he is exiting, he is a showman, he elevates the sport, he sells, take it for what it is. You know who else in history did that? Ali
Be Humble and the sucess Will follow you!I reapet be humble and the sucess Will follow you.
Tebogo day I enjoyed it my boy made us proud 🥲❤ 🇧🇼
I can't believe that now the standard argument is "Noah wasn't going to win". Consider that:
1. Noah ran the fastest Olympic trial 200m in his career in 2024, and 2. his Olympic trial times correlate with how much he improved in the respective year final (Olympic or World Championship).
Tebogo might have still won, sure: but it is inevitable that the peaking schedule designed by Lyle's coach was aiming for 19.30 or lower in the 200m final - even accounting for the win in the 100m. It's not like sponsors dumped millions on Lyles expecting his potential was to run another ~19.5 in the Olympic final.
Well Done! I think that a lot of people like this kind of analysis about being faster!!
Since I get to see Justin more and more I respect him big up yuself Justin ❤
Much respect Gatlin, peace and love!!!!
I truly think the Covid affected him. We seem to forget he’s severely asthmatic which, as someone who’s dealt with long Covid, can make you EXTREMELY weak, really quickly. Congrats to Letsile, he was the better man that day, bit Covid free lyles would’ve put up more of a fight
This issue is that Noah went partying 2 days later without a mask prior to him announcing he had Covid which is why everyone is on his case about it and raising suspicions.
Noah had Covid on a Tuesday and was partying and fully cured by Friday… boy please! He talked a big game, knew he’d lose and leaned on his ‘’health’’ as a crutch to get out of having to do interviews the day of, the press conference the night of and having to answer for his arrogance as the loser. He should have man’d up and took that lose with grace.
100% ..dude's a loser and a fraud. now exposed as a liar. how he won at budapest my guess was a one off. dude's not good for the sport.
The original Covid 19 of 2019 is maybe 50 times more potent than Covid 19 of 2024. The current Covid has morph into the similarity effects of an ordinary cold - very mild compared to original Covid 19. Even .The reason he was clear 2 days later and could party hard. His boastful ass was kicked real hard by Tebogo.
He took the W in the fastest man competition tho on the world stage. The term lose is wild
@@iq1525 you call that a win....when you need litterally a camera/computer to decide.....i don't call that a win....the olympics could have called kishane the winner and we would have accepted it as fact.....
He had Covid before that. His became symptomatic during the semifinals. Covid has up to 14 day incubation period. I really wish the general population was smarter. Because this notion of him getting better in 2 days as if when he tested positive was the day he was exposed.
People actually love to hate Noah more than they actually like the other athletes. His name is in the title of so many videos now.
Noah improved in the 100 and decreased in the 200, as simple as that
Uhm no Noah did run 19.47 but since he ran that 19.31 ppl think he's that runner but in reality he's a 19.5 runner an most of todays sprinters from 2019-23 couldn't touch 19.5 which what made Noah special but now we have a legit 19.4-5 runner tebego which I can see go 19.2-3 will beat him almost all the time in the future considering that Noah is gonna be 31 next Olympics
@@JayJordan-vy9jj Noah is a 19.3 runner. Idk what you're smoking
@@Astro2024 he is not. At best high 19.4x
Noah gets faster in 100 and slower in 200m, I don’t think so!!! First match up post Olympics going to and we a lot and my money on Noah and the Letselie was talking tough so I hope he keeps same energy. I’m proud of what Tobogo did for his mom but he corny for taking shots at Noah personally as where you like Noah or not he keeps on track
Don’t jump to conclusion over just one 19.49 performance tebogo still needs to prove his consistency running those times like noah has done over multiple races before you can confidently say he can regularly challenge a healthy noah. That being sad i’m backing him over any other athlete to bring the fight to Noah. 200m just got interesting.
Are we forgetting that Letsile Tebogo has been training to PR in the 200m since start of the season. From running back to back 400m to 4x4s to 300m. He was the clear winner from the very beginning
Did you call it before the race? If you didn’t, we don’t want to hear it..
Are we forgetting that Noah ran 19.31
@@jrv7054when was the last time he came close?
@Eddybo22 it's only 2 years ago, if it was like 4 years plus then I'm delusional. He also ran a similar time to tebogo last year right?
@@jrv7054 he's been the one talking so for all that talking he should be way more consistent with getting closer to that time. The further it takes for him to get close to that time, the further away he gets from approaching it again.
Tebogo ran the 100m as well, so both men faced the same situation.
I can see why this channel is growing. Great production, solid commentary… and the deference to the Caribbean and now the dark continent. No disrespect but… any shot they want to take on Noah, they’ll take. While bigging up everyone else. It’s a solid formula. Noah just beat Letsile in a final the year before and it wasn’t close. Letsile didn’t have a mental edge on him in a big spot. Now the narrative is, that Noah couldn’t have won regardless. Just pour in those brothas from the Caribbean, they’ll be subscribing soon.
Congrats to Tebogo, he is a natural sprinter. He runs like a rotary engine, which is very smooth. Everyone else runs like a piston engine. Usain Bolt is the king of all piston engine. Tebogo should be able to break the WR in 200m and 400m as long as he does not slow down before the race end.
explain the difference
Thank you! This is why this podcast is #1
He had to pull on everything to match up with Kishane...simple facts.

I was just telling my homeboi this yesterday!!! Noah Lyles was not going to win even if he was healthy/Covid free period. I'm glad I got confirmation.😅
This was one of two important races in the Paris Olys, that I predicted correctly. (1) After watching Hocker in the US trials, I was sanguine he would take the 1500 m in Paris. (2) In the 200 m, I had the three medalists in the right order. Tebogo was a reasoned choice for gold, Bednarek a fond hope for the silver. I have followed track seriously since 1960, and do not recall a really top level sprinter who pranced and posed as much as Lyles. Starting with Hary and Berutti up to the stars of today, including my two all-time 100 m greats, Bolt and Hayes. When today's crop of sprinters remotely approach 9.58 sec. for 100 m, the time will perhaps be ripe for "boasting".

How about "Olympic Glory Day". Don't forget that they went from never nothing to coming home with 2 medals: 1 gold with a new African record (amazing!) and one fabulous close silver in the 4x400m.
the president announced 2 half a day to work for us when Letsile arrived. And a lot of companies and businesses offered so much for him cause we want him to succeed way beyond just athletics but in business and farming as well.
This convo was fun 😂
If we're inviting the conversion of a healthy Lyles still losing to Tebogo, for someone following Lyles progress for the past yeast and change, it kinda sucks to not know what time he could have run when all signs were pointing to him doing something special. Call it selfish of me, but regardless of your personal feelings of Lyles, i think we could all hope that any of these athletes are going to be at their best at the biggest stage and i don't think we got to see that with Lyles in the 200. But hey, hats off to Tebogo and I'm really looking forward to seeing these guys match up again soon 👍
I’ll bet my hat Lyles smokes him in the next meet. Win lose or draw, ima come back to this comment😊
@mrtesseract99 with Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track league starting soon, i bet we're gonna see this matchup a ton 😃
Lol. People coming out with a boatload of excuses for noah losing. Being tired and managing tight schedules is a part of sports. Athletes need to learn how to manage that. Tebogo ran the 100m, 200m and 400m relays being far more impressive.
@11hitmanDagenius lol, like i said, maybe it's selfish, but for over a year, i was excited to see what time Lyles could drop in the 200 in the Olympics knowing what his form was looking like. I'm super happy for Tebogo, but the Olympics only comes around every 4 years. Hope we get some good showdowns between them. It's good for the sport after all.
Gatlin pronouncing Tebogo name right is good but i was blown away when he said "for Batswana" wow🔥🔥🔥👌

Mmm… Huge respect to Tobogo. He showed just how good he is and he was celebrating before the line.
Yet a healthy Noah vs Tebogo would have been something.
Tebogo translates to Grateful. Botswana is grateful for this gem! Rea Leboga 😊
Kudos to Tebogo. Similar to Sha'carri losing the 100m( for whatever reasons we believe) i personally won't keep harping on why they lost. A race is always about who's better on that given day. So congrats again to Tebogo. Now thats done i gotta say The Noah Hate has been wild😅(of course not from the podcast). But if we're entertaining a Healthy Noah I definitely believe he would've won against Tebogo. Folks are forgetting this Man did not lose a 200m race for 3yrs. Not to mention he's placed higher in all 7 races him and Tebogo competed in pre Olympics. But ultimately it was Tebogo day and all i can do is congratulate him 👏🏿
Sidenote:Are folks really forgetting Noah broke his PB 2x in his weaker event. Something he did so he can make his 200m better. I would bet anybody Tebogo mysteriously will not beat Lyles in the 200m next yr 😅. Its ok to congratulate Tebogo and not downplay Lyles is all I'm saying

From botswana. Point of clarity on the day. It was an official half a day off the day after he won coz here it happened at night so instead of working the full day tomorrow we worked half the day. Another half day off was on the day the athletes came back home. So it's not one of those holidays which are recurring.
I appreciate how you guys are trying to pronounce his name properly. ❤
Tebogo is the Olympic Gold medal. He ran a perfect race. But I think Noah had a solid chance to win the gold too, however, he got sick. Take in account, being sick with the chinese virus is a great handicap, but he put his heart at it and renew his bronze. Kenny did a grat job too. But Tebogo was perfect. Congratulations to Bostwana from Venezuela.
