It was super nice making this with you!!! The Canadian Wildfire smokes in the air couldn’t stop us 💪💪
Likewise, my friend! I've listened to this on repeat for the last few days and your musicality and effortless singing (despite that smoke) really blows me away.
Your voice is spectacular. I had to close my eyes and just let those notes hit my soul.
Thank you both for giving me this moment of serenity.
Lovely, lovely singing!
beautiful piece
I have never heard such a purely sopranist countertenor. Amazing and beautiful!
There have been a a few , Andreas Scholl for example
Right?? I love the purity of his higher register. He does remind me of Scholl, strangely also of trailblazer and legend Alfred Deller, what a voice!!
Philippe Jaroussky is also a wonderful sopranist
@@maib6307 i agree but i think Philippe has a slightly less pitched voice 😉.
Big fan of Philippe too here
A lovely performance by both gentlemen. Mr. Kim’s voice is remarkably, convincingly and naturally sopranistic. I hope to hear more of from him.
How on earth does he hold those hallelujah’s for so long? 😍 fantastic, thank you! 🤗🇬🇧
Courage and conviction.
@@jkimisyellowTechnique and practice
Beautiful, The lute complements the voice and creates a melodic harmony that moves the listener ❤️❤️❤️
Man, good countertenors are just mindblowingly gorgeous! Bravo to both of you for this wonderful piece! 😁
Beautiful performance - thank you. And from reading the comments, you are also successfully bringing this wonderful music to a new audience not used to hearing it. Thank you also for that!
Beautiful music and singing. Very moving.
Wow Brandon what a very delicate, simple yet effective arrangement for archlute (I think the lightness of the instrument brings out something different in the continuo than eg a theorbo version would), and Kangmin Justin Kim is such an amazing talent, simply sublime I feel so fortunate to see you play together with all these amazing singers!!
Really giving me the chills to hear this beautiful music! Thank you for sharing with us. The world needs more beauty.
Thank you for bringing back musical history to live again. Have a musical blessed moments in life.
🎵🎶 Excellent musical history, wonderful performance. 🌹
Delightful, and such virtuosity! Lovely, this!
Listening to this is like going back to the past.
This was absolutely magnificent. I just had to hit the Replay button. I've not met this Purcell song before, thank you for filling in a gap in my education.
Dude the melismatic end sounded really well. What great lung capacity, those notes were long.
Brandon, you never cease to amaze me! I love all the countertenor collaborations you present to us. Truly gifted!
Wonderful piece, thank you for sharing this with us. Justin's performance is very impressive, well done both of you!
my favorite Purcell, which means my favorite piece of baroque music. so delighted to hear you play it - I knew you were a Purcell freak like me. much respect.
A great musical journey into the past 🎶☺️ Fantastic performance ❤️
Love countertenors!
Me too !!! 😁
The training to sing like that , amazing,
I wonder though is there a good living to be made from such art ??
Great playing too , that accompaniment not easy either
Thanks!
We both perform early music full time and Justin in particular has a very successful career singing around the world.
Fantastic! Kangmin makes it look so effortless!!!!
I know what I will be listening to on repeat for the next couple days 😅
Ein wunderbarer Kangmin Justin Kim ! Ich habe eine hohe Achtung für sein Können!
Let every thing that has breath praise the Lord 🙌🏼
This was beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely Angelic! TY❤
Simply beautiful and amazing! Thanks as always!

So impressive, both. Thank you.
I am now a better person for that. Thank you!
Superb, simply superb.
The vocalist is on a Deity level holy shit
This was heartfelt! Love your work brother! Timeless! 💫
I gotta say that this sounds amazing on a surround sound system. It was an experience from another world honestly.
mindblowing
That is so lovely. Thank you!
I bet if people back in the day heard this they would be moved and impressed.
They certainly were moved and impressed. This is a piece by Henry Purcell, one of the great masters who was very highly regarded by his contemporaries and the public. Though he died tragically young, he was a prolific composer of sacred and secular music which we continue to enjoy today.
@@bahooniesThanks for the information I did not know I will have to look into him.
@@LockneckMonster983 Start by listening to the ravishing Dido's Lament from Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas. You're in for a treat.
What a beautiful rendition! To the Lord Jesus Christ be all glory and honor and praise forever, amen.
Gorgeous!
Outstanding!
I did not even suspect that this is a counter tenor!
I love these heart-warming sounds❤️
Justin, what a great voice🌺
Brandon, your videos are so beautifully made. Thank you!
Lovely Brandon.
i love that dudes were writing about how good it feels to go to bed almost 400 years ago
Wonderful. !!! Thank you so much. 🥰🥰🥰
Simultaneously two splendid performances.
Perfect for my villain monologues
Essa dupla abusa de tanto virtuosismo...Parabéns e gratidão por poder oferecer um pedacinho do paraíso ❤

Beautiful from the both of you
Wow🎉🎉
this came up on Google, which i can’t give a “like” to, so i came over to youtube just to let you know how mych i LOVED, not liked, it!!! It was a purely stunning performance. I have never heard this piece before, and instantly fell in love with it!!! Thank you so much to the both of you.
But who wrote it?
You are so kind! It is by Henry Purcell.
I'm surprised it appeared on Google. How? Were you searching something related?
@@brandonacker no, just random things come up. usually animal videos, but that time it happened to be you!
I'm not a musician, but it's interesting how you can tell this music is fundamentaly different to the way people do music nowdays. It feels kind of wrong to my ears, yet I can tell that in its own logic, it makes sense and it is beautiful.
It’s like when you have bad posture and then you correct it. It feels strange at first even though it’s correct.
Such a blessing to my ears ❤❤
❤
برنس الجيل والله ❤😊
That sounds very nice! Is it John Dowland, lovely voice & lute! It looks in between lute & oud! Excuse my spelling!
Thank you! It is by Henry Purcell. My archlute actually does have a bowl from an oud.
I watched some of your guitar history RUclips videos quite a while ago, very interesting & educational, I love the oud/lute sound! I’m also fascinated by the Chapman Stick, wish I had the peanuts to purchase, ha,😎
un contratenor!! muy bueno!
This composition is all coda!
Merci beaucoup.
Nice but i personnaly prefer when you do things with Michael Skarke whose voice sounds sweeter to my ears.
Lovely theorbo playing as usual ,Brandon !
Can i dream of a Brandon Acker / Logan Tanner performance some day ?
✨💖✨
❤🔥
Bravo!!!
Maestro, how do you do the arpegio? thank you
Hi, there are many types of arpeggios so I don't know which one you are referring to. Instead of playing the chord all at once, generally you stagger the notes from the lowest to highest.
@@brandonacker thank you, I underestood.
This is the path humanity was supposed to follow. If you feel the music then you will know what I mean. Somewhere along the way we missed the mark totally.
Sick markiplier cameo
Man, Markiplier can sing!
counter-tenor??
Yes :)
The singing guy ,not Brandon ! 😉
@@virginielafrench3921 😹
why are all of the singers hot

THAT was a convincing lipsink. Bravo
It's a live recording.

Somewhat grotesque but thanks for sharing
Huh????
"Grotesque"? It was absolutely heart-wrenchingly beautiful.
Everyone has their own opinion, but grotesque it’s not.
Ignore @ulomagyar7166 probably a homophobe and/or racist.
Gay
Ruined by the singing
Enchanting.
