He’s always had pace to burn, he’s strong and has a good engine on him but as a footballer he’s always been fairly one dimensional as he’s not particularly great on the ball and neither is he the greatest passer. In most cases he’s only really great in transition, bailing teams out on dangerous breaks but he offers almost nothing offensively and largely he gets bypassed in progression of the football. There’s a handful of ‘better’ fullbacks but he has the benefit of having been a constant in one of the greatest teams going for him. Not necessarily because he’s been excellent there although he has his moments.
