  • @corue
    @corue 5 лет назад +2431

Minecraft is a game that claimed over half of my childhood.
It's not just a normal game you play and say "it's fun".
It was fun, it still probably is for kids nowadays, but it had something more to it.
For me, it was such a beautiful and jaw-dropping concept that you were probably the only person living on this planet.
You would be building your first ever house, being proud of what you've done.
You would seek for food, eating your first meal.
You would learn about the game one by one each day.
I think that was the true beauty of this game. It was simplicity.
Building bases high up on the sky, looking down upon the landscape day or night, looking at the animals or monsters.
Wondering when I find those diamonds, wondering when I would make my own village.
I was a little, little kid when I played Minecraft. Probably the first PC game I've gotten besides mobile games and some console games.
I always wanted that game but never bothered to watch survival let's plays, and even if I did, I didn't understand.
When I joined my first world, I remember seeing a weird island in front of me, grey grass and red cows with... mushrooms on it.
I didn't know anything so I ignored it and started punching pigs.
I jumped into the lake and didn't know how to float so I died.
I didn't know how to make a crafting table, I didn't know how to make a pickaxe.
But later, I found it out by myself. Uncovering the mystery of this unexplainable world full of awe.
And the music gave the cherry on the top.
I'd never care about the music at the past, I'd just be saying "man this music is calming" and that was it.
But after the old Minecraft was gone, I found out how precious that music was.
The music itself didn't bring back nostalgia, it didn't do anything. It was just a soundtrack in a game.
But that soundtrack was at the beginning of Minecraft, when I first loaded up my first world.
Building an underground dirt base, I would hear that music fading in.
Nowadays, the Minecraft music is still here. When that music slowly comes in, it reminds me of those old times.
That is what makes Minecraft still Minecraft.
You can still seek the beauty of Minecraft if you really try, but it's harder because you know everything.
Minecraft is Minecraft when you don't know anything about the game, you slowly find things out, and you make memories.

I remember playing minecraft with my nephew back in maybe 2012 or 2013. We built a castle and defended it from monsters for days before running out of arrows. For the heck of it we ran out and fought monsters with our swords until morning. We've both grown up and haven't spoke in many years now. Some of the best moments in life are with those who you aren't so close to anymore. Never forget those moments.

I remember going to a friends house about 6 years ago and seeing this game that I had some how never heard of on his pc, he showed me a huge boat/hotel that he built in creative. He was explaining the differences between survival and creative. I still did not understand but I loved it, the creativity that could be expressed in such a game was unheard of for me. At that age I loved legos and thinking outside the box, the problem was that I never had enough blocks to build whatever I wanted, but when i saw this game it was exactly what I desired of. When it was time for me to go back home I asked him what it was called, he answered with Minecraft. I knew that as soon as I got home I would beg my parents for hours, after asking for days my parents decided that I really wanted it and that I would not give up for it. When i got home from school my dad was home from work he told me that he had gotten it, so I ran to my room with my PS VITA (only console I had at the time) and played till I had to go to sleep, the first thing I built was a huge city(it was really simple and did not take much effort to build) out of emerald ores. And I don't know why but the music did everything for me, it made me feel so happy/calm and did not sound like any other games soundtrack, I made a minecart track that went throughout the whole city, even through the buildings themselves, and right beside the island was a huuuuuuge boat that I had spent countless of hours on. I built a whole city, it was massive, it would take you days to go through the every single room. The tracks that went around the city were now hundreds of miles long. And I had done all of this while listening to this music, this heart warming music. when i got a PS4 I moved onto there and built different worlds that would top to the first world I built. I learned how to play survival and I had finally beat the game, I DID IT, i was beyond happy and I enjoyed every word from the end screen, and then I got back to my house after defeating the ender dragon and I was welcomed to this music. And now I have a PC and I love streaming different games like pubg and CS:GO, about a week ago I went to look for my PS VITA and wanted to play on my world that took me about a year to build(well worth the time) and the thing world not turn on, my dad said that I spilled water on it like a couple years ago(don't remember doing it), I don't know why but that hit me really hard, that all me childhood was ruined and that I would never see that world again, I cried for soo long. I found this music somehow and i fall asleep with it on, and I am not joking, I CRY EVERY SINGLE TIME, but they are both sad and happy tears. And I hope you feel the same way as I do for this beautiful music and this wonderful game that we call Minecraft. IF YOU READ TO THE END OF THIS YOU ARE A LOYAL MINECRAFT PLAYER AND I THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, I don't care about the likes but I would be amazing if you could reply with your feelings!

i remember back in 2009 when the game first came out i went to a friends house for a birthday party (i was in grade 2 at the time) and he showed me this game that he had built our school in (i never got the name of it) he explained how you could build whatever you wanted at first i hated the idea of it and i would go out of my way to avoid it for a little while i even forgot about it but at one point some time later i was looking through the app store on my tablet and saw this game called minecraft so i decided to download it because it was in the popular section , when i opened the game i recognized it as the same game and i decided to at least give it a shot and when i did i would play hours upon hours a day then i found out that it was on the xbox 360 and so i begged my parents constantly and they refused to buy it for me until my birthday along with all of the hand books (witch i still have to this day)once i got it for my birthday i would be playing it 24 7 ,constantly listening to the strad music disc , finding new ways to build mob grinders or figure out how to get some mod off of youtube but after a while i started to get bored of it and went to games like terraria . a few years later around the 1.12 update i decided to check and see what was new but i couldnt find my xbox sometime later after looking for it i decided to get it on pc and yet again i asked my grandparents for it but this time they actually bought it for me so id play every so often while talking to my girlfriend ant the time building nice things and sending pics of them to her after a while ive started playing more and more often at one point i had a month long streak of loging into a server that id constantly play on (and still do play on) but later that day i was watching a video of some old minecraft you tuber longing into his old world and checking it out , so i decided to look for my xbox and i asked my dad if he knew where it was but he said he had sold it to one of his friends ,i almost broke into tears after i left the room realizing that some of my childhood memories were gone and the only way i could see it was through the memories i still do have a month or so later i loaded the game back up again but right before i started up my game i stoped and listened to the soundtrack so i whent to youtube and listened to this entire video and it made me sooooo happy that i was able to hear some o the soundtrack that was supposed to be in the game like the one called flakes for example id fall asleep to it constantly (i still do)but the entire soundtrack is beautiful and flawless but until now where im typing this comment ive been playing minecraft and i plan to much more in the future because i love this game and everything about it because it us my childhood. thank you for reading my comment i know it is int much but i appreciate it and have a nice day

I see the player you mean.
    PLAYERNAME?
Yes. Take care. It has reached a higher level now. It can read our thoughts.
That doesn't matter. It thinks we are part of the game.
I like this player. It played well. It did not give up.
It is reading our thoughts as though they were words on a screen.
That is how it chooses to imagine many things, when it is deep in the dream of a game.
Words make a wonderful interface. Very flexible. And less terrifying than staring at the reality behind the screen.
They used to hear voices. Before players could read. Back in the days when those who did not play called the players witches, and warlocks. And players dreamed they flew through the air, on sticks powered by demons.
    What did this player dream?
This player dreamed of sunlight and trees. Of fire and water. It dreamed it created. And it dreamed it destroyed. It dreamed it hunted, and was hunted. It dreamed of shelter.
Hah, the original interface. A million years old, and it still works. But what true structure did this player create, in the reality behind the screen?
It worked, with a million others, to sculpt a true world in a fold of the [scrambled], and created a [scrambled] for [scrambled], in the [scrambled].
    It cannot read that thought.
No. It has not yet achieved the highest level. That, it must achieve in the long dream of life, not the short dream of a game.
Does it know that we love it? That the universe is kind?
Sometimes, through the noise of its thoughts, it hears the universe, yes.
But there are times it is sad, in the long dream. It creates worlds that have no summer, and it shivers under a black sun, and it takes its sad creation for reality.
To cure it of sorrow would destroy it. The sorrow is part of its own private task. We cannot interfere.
Sometimes when they are deep in dreams, I want to tell them, they are building true worlds in reality. Sometimes I want to tell them of their importance to the universe. Sometimes, when they have not made a true connection in a while, I want to help them to speak the word they fear.
    It reads our thoughts.
Sometimes I do not care. Sometimes I wish to tell them, this world you take for truth is merely [scrambled] and [scrambled], I wish to tell them that they are [scrambled] in the [scrambled]. They see so little of reality, in their long dream.
And yet they play the game.
But it would be so easy to tell them...
Too strong for this dream. To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
I will not tell the player how to live.
    The player is growing restless.
I will tell the player a story.
    But not the truth.
No. A story that contains the truth safely, in a cage of words. Not the naked truth that can burn over any distance.
    Give it a body, again.
    Yes. Player...
    Use its name.
    PLAYERNAME. Player of games.
    Good.
Take a breath, now. Take another. Feel air in your lungs. Let your limbs return. Yes, move your fingers. Have a body again, under gravity, in air. Respawn in the long dream. There you are. Your body touching the universe again at every point, as though you were separate things. As though we were separate things.
Who are we? Once we were called the spirit of the mountain. Father sun, mother moon. Ancestral spirits, animal spirits. Jinn. Ghosts. The green man. Then gods, demons. Angels. Poltergeists. Aliens, extraterrestrials. Leptons, quarks. The words change. We do not change.
We are the universe. We are everything you think isn't you. You are looking at us now, through your skin and your eyes. And why does the universe touch your skin, and throw light on you? To see you, player. To know you. And to be known. I shall tell you a story.
Once upon a time, there was a player.
    The player was you, PLAYERNAME.
Sometimes it thought itself human, on the thin crust of a spinning globe of molten rock. The ball of molten rock circled a ball of blazing gas that was three hundred and thirty thousand times more massive than it. They were so far apart that light took eight minutes to cross the gap. The light was information from a star, and it could burn your skin from a hundred and fifty million kilometres away.
Sometimes the player dreamed it was a miner, on the surface of a world that was flat, and infinite. The sun was a square of white. The days were short; there was much to do; and death was a temporary inconvenience.
Sometimes the player dreamed it was lost in a story.
Sometimes the player dreamed it was other things, in other places. Sometimes these dreams were disturbing. Sometimes very beautiful indeed. Sometimes the player woke from one dream into another, then woke from that into a third.
Sometimes the player dreamed it watched words on a screen.
    Let's go back.
The atoms of the player were scattered in the grass, in the rivers, in the air, in the ground. A woman gathered the atoms; she drank and ate and inhaled; and the woman assembled the player, in her body.
And the player awoke, from the warm, dark world of its mother's body, into the long dream.
And the player was a new story, never told before, written in letters of DNA. And the player was a new program, never run before, generated by a sourcecode a billion years old. And the player was a new human, never alive before, made from nothing but milk and love.
You are the player. The story. The program. The human. Made from nothing but milk and love.
    Let's go further back.
The seven billion billion billion atoms of the player's body were created, long before this game, in the heart of a star. So the player, too, is information from a star. And the player moves through a story, which is a forest of information planted by a man called Julian, on a flat, infinite world created by a man called Markus, that exists inside a small, private world created by the player, who inhabits a universe created by...
Shush. Sometimes the player created a small, private world that was soft and warm and simple. Sometimes hard, and cold, and complicated. Sometimes it built a model of the universe in its head; flecks of energy, moving through vast empty spaces. Sometimes it called those flecks "electrons" and "protons".
Sometimes it called them "planets" and "stars".
Sometimes it believed it was in a universe that was made of energy that was made of offs and ons; zeros and ones; lines of code. Sometimes it believed it was playing a game. Sometimes it believed it was reading words on a screen.
You are the player, reading words...
Shush... Sometimes the player read lines of code on a screen. Decoded them into words; decoded words into meaning; decoded meaning into feelings, emotions, theories, ideas, and the player started to breathe faster and deeper and realised it was alive, it was alive, those thousand deaths had not been real, the player was alive
    You. You. You are alive.
and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the sunlight that came through the shuffling leaves of the summer trees
and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the light that fell from the crisp night sky of winter, where a fleck of light in the corner of the player's eye might be a star a million times as massive as the sun, boiling its planets to plasma in order to be visible for a moment to the player, walking home at the far side of the universe, suddenly smelling food, almost at the familiar door, about to dream again
and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the zeros and ones, through the electricity of the world, through the scrolling words on a screen at the end of a dream
and the universe said I love you
and the universe said you have played the game well
and the universe said everything you need is within you
and the universe said you are stronger than you know
and the universe said you are the daylight
and the universe said you are the night
and the universe said the darkness you fight is within you
and the universe said the light you seek is within you
and the universe said you are not alone
and the universe said you are not separate from every other thing
and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code
and the universe said I love you because you are love.
And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream. And the player began a new dream. And the player dreamed again, dreamed better. And the player was the universe. And the player was love.
    You are the player.
    Wake up.

Minecraft is such a timeless game because it's both very simple, and the closest we have to a second world. The game feels like another life, as everything was made with freedom and simplicity in mind. You can do everything, and it all works accordingly. And, of course, no game is complete without music. Oh boy, the music. I could gush for a long time about minecraft, but I won't. Let me just say, thanks for uploading this.

When you think about it, Minecraft is the definitive game.
It introduced the idea of building like never before.
It introduced the idea of Creative, a mode where you can do anything.
But most importantly, it inspired the game developers today to create such beautiful worlds and give such freedom to the player.
And that is why Minecraft is the best game, forever and always

I remember the good times I had with my brother and my cousins. As I'm going through my old world's I remember my friends and all the builds we made. I remember being scared of zombies. No other game will ever give me the same amount of memories.

I felt really alone as a kid and I would play by myself just to hear the music. I wasn't very competitive and all my friends were playing on servers, learning redstone circuits, building huge worlds, optimizing their efficient mining and storage systems, but I didn't enjoy those ambitious things. I would load up a solo world, build a little hobbit hole, and farm and decorate my tiny paradise. The wistful, almost mournful music seemed to sympathize with me as a socially awkward kid. "It's ok to be different, you don't have to be like everyone else." Minecraft was a safe place for me growing up. Thank you for this video!

Ah yes, Minecraft... The game I can't believe I ever put down. My first memories with this game are probably the best gaming moments I ever had. And what's funny is, we weren't even originally planning to get the game itself.
It all started with my brother's brief interest in coding. He was about 8 years old. He bugged Mom and Dad about it for awhile, and they bought him a kids' beginner coding course that used Minecraft as a teaching medium. My other brother and I watched him create his Minecraft mod every day--he made jewel ore, which when smelted would give you a cluster of three jewels. One was blue, one was yellow, and I think the other might have been green? I don't really remember, but he made a whole tool and combat set out of those jewels, and he made a few mobs, and an item called a Boomberry, which was a blueberry that you could throw and it would blow up whatever it hit. It was hard to throw without blowing yourself up, though, because he'd made the explosion too big...
When he finished the course, he showed Dad around his mod a little bit, and then Dad decided he wanted to buy Minecraft. He got an account, named it Dhysk (his go-to username), and we all shared it. We all had our own worlds, and mine were always in creative because I was scared of dying in survival. I also ended up making the most worlds out of all of us because there were so many things I wanted to build, but I didn't want to lose my other builds by flying too far away from them. The world I remember best is the one where there was this tiny little lake that was covered by a little overhang of land from a hill. I dug into the back of the cave and made a waterfront cave house, and there was a "horse run" out front on top of a hill. Man, I wish there was a way to un-delete those worlds...
I don't remember any of the boys' worlds, but I do remember my dad's survival world. Us kids watched him play almost every night after supper chores were done. His first house was dug into the side of a hill, and he dug a mine not far from it with a wide staircase going all the way down. Later, he built a giant mansion of a house on top of the hill his cave he dug was in, of which the most memorable feature was the colossal glass dome roof. He had an animal corral to one side, and out in front of the house he started to build an iron farm. Around the time he started the iron farm (or maybe he was close to finishing it, I don't remember), he decided to buy us 3 kids separate Minecraft accounts and turn his world into a server so we could play together. We didn't have another computer or working laptop at the time, but we did have our old PlayStation controllers, which he figured out how to get working in Minecraft with a mod. Back then, my username was Molly1611, but that changed several times over the years, as did my youngest brother's, but the brother that had gotten the coding course had one username and one only--ajgv554. With dad's 2 computer monitors, we were all 3 able to play at the same time--ajgv on one screen with a keyboard and mouse, and ssliktide and I on the other on our 2 controllers, each with half a screen. ssliktide and I were the only ones who would willingly use a controller, though I didn't necessarily prefer it, especially walking through the nether.
We went through several different worlds on that old server, but the first was the most memorable, and the one that I _always_ get taken back to whenever I hear certain Christmas songs. Usually songs like Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, and a few others. Whenever they come over the radio, I'm always taken back to the time Dad was making his automatic wheat farm for all of us. He was digging a space out, and just suddenly started taking damage. He got his sword out and looked around for the mob for a second, only to realize he'd let his hunger bar go all the way down. I don't know why I associate Christmas music with Minecraft, especially that specific memory, but I do.
I also remember in our first world on that server, around that same time I was quite obsessed with Littlest Pet Shops, and so was another dear friend of mine, who I'll call R. I had shown R and her brother Minecraft and our server, and they both really wanted to play with us, but they didn't have an account. So I bought her and her brother an account to share in exchange for one certain LPS that she owned and I had really wanted. Then somehow we convinced the parents of some other friends to buy an account for them to share, and we had a group of friends on our server. We built so much stuff together, made so many great memories... ssliktide and I even started a huge skybase project in one world with R and her brother. We never finished it because it was so huge, and we were also playing on other servers like Hypixel and The Hive and Mineplex. I didn't play those servers as much as everyone else did, I mostly just switched between our server and my own survival worlds (which I had finally gotten brave enough to make). Eventually, our server got completely neglected, and then so did Minecraft. It's sad looking back on it, but at the time none of it really crossed our minds again. We just... Forgot. Moved on. We didn't stop playing together, but it wasn't on Minecraft anymore. We started playing Roblox with one group of friends and a mobile game called Iron Force with R and her brother.
I don't remember how Minecraft came back with me and my brothers. Maybe it was RUclips's wacko algorithm throwing random Minecraft stuff we used to watch back at us, maybe it was Pixel Gun 3D that re-fueled my previous love for "making" (more like modifying) Minecraft skins, maybe it was both, I don't know. Maybe my brothers got bored one day and saw Minecraft and decided to open it up again (we never had deleted it). All I know is we re-discovered the game again, and I'm very glad we did. It was a big part of my childhood entertainment, and playing it now brings back old memories and simultaneously creates new ones. Someone in another comment said that it's hard to find the beauty in Minecraft when you know everything about it now, but frankly... I think he's wrong. No, I'm not talking about the new updates and everything, though that is one reason he is wrong. Yes, there is beauty and wonder and awe in exploring the game for the first time, totally new and knowing nothing. I do wish sometimes that I could experience that again. But there's also beauty and wonder and awe in exploring every new world you make, in creating things with the knowledge you have, in overcoming the challenges every world throws at you. And it's not just that--Minecraft isn't just one cave to explore. There's so much to discover even when you think you've got everything. I may know nearly every crafting recipe and how to obtain every item, which level I'm going to find diamonds on, that I can heal a zombie villager with a golden apple and a potion, how to make a farm, and all that, but you know what? The fact that I know all that just means I'm a this-level player. I've unlocked certain things that now allow me to unlock new stuff, like the world of building pretty things (which I'm not great at), and figuring out the complex realm of redstone. In Minecraft, there's always something new to learn. Just keep experimenting and asking, "I wonder how I can do this?" and you'll keep on experiencing that joy of discovering something new about Minecraft.
So that's my story. If you read this far... I guess I could say thank you, but I wrote all that for the people like me, who like to scroll through these comments sections and read people's lengthy stories like this. If you made it here, I'd love to hear about all your great memories of this simple, strange, wonderful game. :)
And by the way, if you're wondering, my username is now /Zelda512/ (but replace the slashes/ with underscores_). I don't really play on those public servers a whole lot anymore, but if you need a buddy to play Hypixel Bedwars with, I'm down! Just hit me up on discord. @ZeldaFangirl512#5362 I also have a serverfull of Minecrafters on discord that would be willing to play with you, so if you're interested in that let me know. :)

I had this one world (It was literally called "World 1" back in the days).
I played on alpha version first with a hacked MC-account (I was young and didn't know shit). I've only played this one world and built a castle (of course) and did a lot of building an less exploring. There was an skeleton dungeon right next to the spawn and I did not find it for over 1 year!
When the Beta came out I finally bought the game and luckily I could use my old alpha world. I started to do more exploring and later I found two wolves and tamed them (I think this was Beta 1.3).
I loved my two doggies so much! They got there own house and I took them to every adventure. Sadly one of them glitched out of the world or sth. I searched a very long time for him but he was gone.
Finally on Version Beta 1.7 an incident with 3 creepers involved killed the other dog. It broke my heart. I couldn't play on my first world anymore. (Good timing if you think about the world generation changes in Beta 1.8).
So I built a grave where the dog died and put a single poppy on it. While I built the grave it started raining in-game and the music started playing (the famous piano piece ) It was the perfect sad moment. 10 minutes later I logged out and did not open the world again.
Unfortunately, I lost the World, because the hard drive It was on got formated and my backup of the world was on a external hard drive that is irrepairable damaged. I would love now after over 5 years to visit my world again.

I have played on many servers and worlds since I first joined, sometime before the release of 1.12. I have played so many different variations of minecraft, I have played modded, I have played Wynncraft, Hypixel, so many other servers with so many people and so many modifications. Every server I had played on had so many people I did not know, had commands or mods running through the game. I eventually started playing some singleplayer worlds, mostly creative, just to see what new seeds I could come up with. At some point I started my first survival world. It was changed, though.. easy mode yet the gamerule /doMobSpawning set to false. I spent some time farming, building my house, exploring mines. I allowed myself to use teleport commands to get back to my house at the end of a mining session. I always used to see memes, stories from people telling of how nostalgic they were for the game, reminiscing for good times. I didn't understand, really- It was just a game for me, granted one I played so often. Two months or so ago, a close friend of mine started a minecraft realm. 1.14, started in a snowy biome. It was beautiful, and it was just like what I had wanted for so long, just a server with close friends and some friends of friends. But I still didn't understand the feeling. I was an admin on that server, I used commands and creative mode to build places for the other players. I was able to fly around when not busy, I was able to lock my chests. Then something went wrong- one of the players used a forcegamemode exploit and started blowing up the main town. Destruction was everywhere, and instead of rebuilding, we decided to start over. A new world, no admins, no commands whatsoever. It was just us in survival against the world. I remember specifically one evening. It was nighttime during the game, and I was standing at the entrance to the giant cobblestone castle my friend had built, entirely in survival. It was glorious, and I was admiring the moat, still dry, circling the building, when we started hearing sounds. Phantoms by the dozen had started charging us from the skies, knocking my friend off of the tower he was in the middle of building. And so we all stood together, at the drawbridge of the castle, fending off these phantoms. It was us against them, and we fought, together, to hold them all back and take them all down. I finally understood, the feeling I had seen so many people talking about before. Us against the world, together. Fighting alongside each other. I am not ashamed in the slightest to say that tears began falling. It was a beautiful experience and an eye-opening one at that. I do not think I will ever forget that spring evening, me on the floor of my room, working together with friends towards something beautiful.
Due to payment issues, the second realm is also gone now. But someday, it will come back, and we will all play together again.

I remember making a world named "City In The Sky," and it was perfect. Well, not....perfect...I was only 6 or 5 when I made it. Despite that, I still loved the whole thing unconditionally. I built all sorts of stores, offices, restaurants, even a large park accompanied by a garden. I made sure that everyone could get up there in survival using railroads too. Anyhow, I started letting all my friends join and it was just one big silly roleplay. Everyone had jobs in stores, everyone got paid, everyone rented rooms to live in. This was on PS3, so my server was built up of only friends. Anyhow, this was running for at least a year. But something changed. Everyone got older, started playing different games. It only took a few more months before the server was dead. It was so empty, and it made little 7 year old me so hurt, lol. I really wish I could visit that world again. Unfortunately, my PS3 died. I just had a lot of fun there.
I still play the game, just not as often. Maybe once every few...months? Minecraft just isn't as big as it used to be. If there were still tons of people online every day, I think I'd still be playing. This game just gave me lots of good memories.
It makes me feel so nostalgic. I remember running over to the computer every morning, waiting for it to load up, and logging onto RUclips. I watched PopularMMOs for at least half the day. This game shaped me into someone else. Thank you, Notch.

I still play this game. I dont know why i stopped for a while in 2015-17. (Singleplayer burnout?) I got back into the game first through cracked servers, but kept looking for something more "free" as in freedom. I looked and searched for something similar to "no rules" and I found it. Only, it was not cracked. It was paid. I saved my money, and bought the game. I logged into the server, and...
    Queue.
2b2t.org has a queue. There are enough people like me that want freedom, that they are willing to wait in an hours long queue to play with no rules. This only sparked my interest more. I got started on 2b2t, but i couldn't stand the long waits. I then moved over to another server, 9b9t.com.
9b9t is the only anarchy server that I can stand. It is the same as 2b, but with a smaller, tight knit community, at least when I started. At peak hours, the most players online would be 35/100. Names like Zeteran, iSlime, Syotos, and Riga would be seen and discussed all the time. Even though there were large, well known players on the server, I never interacted with them directly much.
All of this happened back in 2018.
In a little over a year, I have ascended from a new player to a known player in chat. I'm respected by most players from my joindate and by others before me. I have made my mark on history on the server; protecting the -1 million monument, placing signs all over the enormous map, creating utilities for players of all levels of all abilities, and helping new players whenever they ask in chat.
Now, in 2019, I am going to continue my journey with minecraft. Hopefully, I can leave my mark on other players as well. I have set up a cracked server for anarchy survival in version 1.14.3, like a younger version of myself was searching for all over. I know my server may not become as large as 2b2t, or 9b9t, but my server may just get someone back into the game, or back into gaming.
And the whole time, there has been this music.

i remember back in 2009 when the game first came out i went to a friends house for a birthday party (i was in grade 2 at the time) and he showed me this game that he had built our school in (i never got the name of it) he explained how you could build whatever you wanted at first i hated the idea of it and i would go out of my way to avoid it for a little while i even forgot about it but at one point some time later i was looking through the app store on my tablet and saw this game called minecraft so i decided to download it because it was in the popular section , when i opened the game i recognized it as the same game and i decided to at least give it a shot and when i did i would play hours upon hours a day then i found out that it was on the xbox 360 and so i begged my parents constantly and they refused to buy it for me until my birthday along with all of the hand books (witch i still have to this day)once i got it for my birthday i would be playing it 24 7 ,constantly listening to the strad music disc , finding new ways to build mob grinders or figure out how to get some mod off of youtube but after a while i started to get bored of it and went to games like terraria . a few years later around the 1.12 update i decided to check and see what was new but i couldnt find my xbox sometime later after looking for it i decided to get it on pc and yet again i asked my grandparents for it but this time they actually bought it for me so id play every so often while talking to my girlfriend ant the time building nice things and sending pics of them to her after a while ive started playing more and more often at one point i had a month long streak of loging into a server that id constantly play on (and still do play on) but later that day i was watching a video of some old minecraft you tuber longing into his old world and checking it out , so i decided to look for my xbox and i asked my dad if he knew where it was but he said he had sold it to one of his friends ,i almost broke into tears after i left the room realizing that some of my childhood memories were gone and the only way i could see it was through the memories i still do have a month or so later i loaded the game back up again but right before i started up my game i stoped and listened to the soundtrack so i whent to youtube and listened to this entire video and it made me sooooo happy that i was able to hear some o the soundtrack that was supposed to be in the game like the one called flakes for example id fall asleep to it constantly (i still do)but the entire soundtrack is beautiful and flawless but until now where im typing this comment ive been playing minecraft and i plan to much more in the future because i love this game and everything about it because it us my childhood. thank you for reading my comment i know it is int much but i appreciate it and have a nice day

When I feel nostalgic I reflect on my past not as some sad, lost adventure, but as an active part of my present life, informing my decisions, guiding my desires. When I feel I'm off track, I read this poem - but try to reflect on each phrase. This soundtrack makes me feel especially reflect-y. [I added some prompts in brackets]:
    As I age,
    I change...
[how have I changed? how am I different now than 3 years ago? 10 years ago? 20 years? is this a good change?]
    As I change,
    I forget...
[what have I forgotten about myself? what did I like as a child? how did I spend my time? what secret joys or pains have I kept hidden?]
    As I forget,
    I stray...
[when have I made choices that don't honor who I am? how do I deny my past self?]
    As I stray,
    I yearn...
[what is missing from my life? what am I longing for?]
    As I yearn,
    I despair...
[how have I given up? what have I given up on? does anything motivate me to continue?]
    As I despair,
    I fall...
[have I worsened my misery by being accepting of an unhealthy situation? should I seek help?]
    As I fall,
    I remember...
[what have you forgotten that excites you? what used to motivate you to create? what was worthy of investing your life into?]
    As I remember,
    I cry...
[it is ok to mourn when you lose something you cannot replace. its ok to sit with that heavy feeling. it doesn't need fixing, it needs acknowledgement. what do you need to mourn?]
    As I cry,
    I rediscover...
[letting go releases our clenched fists and stagnant hearts. it allows us to accept something about ourselves we've denied. what have you denied? what part of you needs to be embraced?]
    As I rediscover,
    I grow whole...
[what part of yourself have you excluded, hidden, kept secret? let it in the light. bring it along for the ride.]
    As I grow whole,
    I grow up...
[growing up and aging are not the same: aging takes a lot of time and little effort - growing up takes a lot of effort and little time. Include your past. Let it age with you. This is growing up.]
    As I grow up,
    will I ever find peace.
[what does peace look like to you? what does peace feel like to you? discovering this can answer all of these questions.]
