I'm truly sorry about your knife, that is truly a bummer.
But you definitely have skill buddy.
Amazing camping.
Mr MeGee I enjoy your videos , awesome !
Slingshots are fun, the ammo makes a difference. Steel bearings are better then rocks.
Just recapping some older vids, love them . Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the support! The further back the deeper the crap! Haha we've come along ways since then!
This was a good video MeGee. The snow looked cold. Brrrr. Nice camera! Good clear footage the whole time. And good sound. Nice.

Love to wAtch your channel . I noticed you put your water bottle right side up. I watched other you tubers camping in cold weather and they keep there water bottle upside doun so the lid doesn't freeze shut
Lol I’m going back threw some of the older ones still awesome thanks

I made cheddar beer brats on the grill this evening,, tasty,,,, I didn't see much of a reflector wall behind your fire did that keep you warm
Another great video. Question for ya can someone 6 three fit in that tent ?
That's actually a tarp! Its 10x10!
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee oh ok cool. Thanks 👍
Hey brother been watching your vids.
I'm a big fan from Maine
Little hint as a wood cutter in the deep woods of Maine
A wool sweater and wool socks will keep you warm even if they are wet.
Seriously... this is what we do everyday for work.
I used to pay an elderly lady in our neighborhood to make them for me. Good luck brother.
I need to find me an elderly lady now!
Another awesome video 📸
Thank you!
Another good one the tarp setup is cool i gotta try this looks relaxing keep up the good work man!
Much appreciated!
Love your style! Don't change a thing!!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy!
Great video. Loved it 😍.
That worked good. Thanks for bringing me along.
Another great video dude, keep up the good work.
Thanks my friend!
Hey u were saying u didn't have enough anchor points on that tarp .get u a grommet kit and add a few more points to anchor from
Hey MeGee how did that jacket turn out? I looked up reviews and they weren't too good. I'm looking for a nice winter jacket so I'd like to know. Thanks man!
I still have mine and I love it man!
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee awesome! Thanks brother.
You know I watched this once , and I didn't realize how funny it was how you gave that tree a sausage 😂 standing straight up !!!
Hahaha they get hungry too!
Awesome video as usual!! Watching from England 🏴
Thank you much for the support!
The tarp looks like a tiny tipi. Question: If you don't know which direction the winds are going to be blowing, do you position your shelters/tents with the openings facing toward the East like the Indians did? Re: The slingshot--"You'll shoot yer eye out, Kid!" LOL! (God forbid.)
I love a Christmas story! Shelter opening I suppose I base it on my where im setting up and the style of setup im going with. I usually face any direction but north.
Thanks for letting me know about the opening direction. :D
Is the tarp a 10 x 10?
I was looking at old footage, didnt you start a fire in one of your old huts?
No never really did besides having a woodstove in my urban shelter.
I am a new sub....I love your personality. Keep up the great videos
Hey hey nice to meet you and thanks you very much! I really appreciate the support!
Yeah we want to see what is going on!
I enjoyed every minute of that, oh how I wish we got snow like that here in the UK, like every winter, it's never a sure thing some areas might get some othere see nothing and as I live kinda up north, not like Scotland north, more..... well actually West Yorkshire, but it's still called the north, thought anything north of London is up North 😄😄 you would think we'd see some snow on a regular basis, though if I got my wish I'd better wish I was 35 years younger, back before my body started to pay me back for my miss spent youth 😂😂😂😂😂 Nice video 👍👍👍👍👍
Haha i dig the comment! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
How Dare you, I was born in Leicester and consider myself a proud midlander. Bloidy North of London indeed. You dirty bastard :)
You make me laugh! Lol, you're funny!
Happy you get a laugh!

opiniell?
it's opinel. like oh-pee-nell
besides that - interesting video! been wanting to do all-wetter-same-equipment camping with only change in sleeping bag and clothing, and decided for tarp over tent. but since I'm too poor it is mostly used and milsurp
Im poor too my friend! Just wing it
A trick to keep warm is to double wrap potatoes in ti foil and bake them in the fire coals or hard boil eggs put the said potatoes or eggs in a wool sock and place in your sleeping bag ...
Acts as a hand warmer or foot warmer .......and in the morning you can use them in your breakast for homefies yum yum yum just remove the tin foil
Good tip!
Another enjoyable video! Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you very much for the support!
Where did you get the jacket is these woods you sleep in by where you live?
I walked in with the jacket on what you mean?
Much respect for sharing! Really appreciate it! New sub! May I ask what kind of camera you use?
This camera is a Canon sx730 hs. Its a perfect little point and shoot camera.
stupid question, but why don't you just put the pot in the fire?
Ethier way works. I guess if you wana slow cook keep it on the tripod.
What kind of coat did you say that is that you're wearing? I'm on blood thinners and I can never seem to find a coat warm enough. But when you said you could cinch it at the waist to keep warmth in, that sounded like a great idea on a coat. But I couldn't catch what you said name of it was(?).
Its a brand called wantdo. I tried it threw a blizzard and all winter and it worked fantastic! An at a great price!
If you can shoot a bow and arrow you should be able to shoot a sling shot. All it takes is practice. When are you coming back to do more videos? We all miss you. Miss your sense of humor , your videos. I know your staying safe because of this covid-19 and staying indoors and we all are. I almost know all your reruns by heart. My favorite is when you got stuck in the mudhole. I still laugh when I watch it. Do you ever get scared out by yourself like that in the woods? I would be looking everywhere for predetors. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay strong. Miss your videos
Ya some nights do get a bit spooky on some depending on location! You stay safe as well!
The tarp, is that a rain fly? When I looked up unigear tarp that’s all that was popping up
Yeah that dounds about right. Picked it up on Amazon. Might even be under hammock tarps.
new subscriber here. have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this video
Thanks alot for the support!
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee I'm on my 3rd now

Thank you very much!!!!
One is none, two is one
Great video! I love that you show the good and the bad! The learning process is good to see, makes me feel like I can do this too!
I just bought a hammock for camping and even though I've done a lot of camping and am outdoors a lot, wild camping is a little intimidating. You make it seem more possible by showing that you can make a mistake and still have fun, thanks for the great, funny videos!
J. Skinski Hammock camping is great, but in the south it pays to buy the mosquito netting for it. Definitely more comfortable for us arthritic older campers than a cot or bare hard ground. String a paracord above you and a tarp to keep away morning dew or unexpected rain.
Get you some gator clips and that will give you as many tie out points that you can use for your tarp works great you can get them on wish sometimes free just pay shipping
Don’t you ever use a tarp for the floor with this set up ?
Not that particular set up. Just fold the corners under.
thanks for takeing us outside i was feeling punished for a minute haveing to stay in tarp or tent if you prefer
Is that river or highway noise?
There is a power plant humming in the background
Awesome!! Just found your channel and subbed. Thanks for sharing. Take care mate. ATB. Steve. 👍👍
Thanks for the support!
Just curious why would you buy a camra that wasn't water proof knowing it could rain at anytime
Cause most waterproof DSLR or SLR cameras are 1500 and up.
Snowcream-bowl of snow, teaspoon generic vanilla flavoring, can of generic Eaglebrand milk.
Looks like u had a nice setup 😊
Yes it was a great time!
Would i be so wrong to say that you can carry a tent just as easily as carrying a tarp?
Not at all. only difference one packs down way smaller and a bit lighter i suppose.
You didn’t check your new gear out before bringing it camping?
@@kathyyoung1774 its not an Everest expedition. It just an overnighter.
Im from Montana lot off snow but live in Tennessee last couple years they don't get snow much get cold sometimes my friend I want play in snow lol
I bet! I love the snow! I would miss it if i left!
Loved this video. Just found your channel and subscribed. Nice setup what size was your tarp
Thanks for the support! This is Unigears 10x10 tarp!
I would definitely need a floor and a wood burning stove.🌨🤣🌨
Haha yeah somedays I feel the very same way!
wimps:)
Why no fire reflector?
That unigear tarp has a reflective inside. The heat was bouncing around in the tarp perfect. A reflector would have made it more affective but I didn't feel it was necessary.
Why not use rocks instead of metal beads with your slingshot?
Those are just the ammo that came with that particular slingshot
You ever watch Carlisle 195 ? John is from Carlisle in the UK. He is a chef and cooks good food on his camps.
I have never seen his channel but I think I will have to check it out now! I always like finding new food ideas!
thats the way both my wife and i like our dogs. crispy on the outside hot on the inside.
Just found your channel and went through a few videos so far. So are you in CB or Omaha? Keep it going your a lot of fun to watch.
I'm in Cb! Thanks for the support if your local look me up on Facebook @The Outdoors MeGee maybe hit up an adventure sometime!
The Outdoors MeGee I am local S.W. Omaha. I kayak the Elkhorn and the Platte, have yet to to do any winter camping. My older bones and muscles prefer warmer weather.
@@rubiconwhiskey7135 haha nice I kayak often as well! I have a few vids of Mosquito creek here in cb! There's some little Rapids and alot of trees to go under and around makes for an interesting time! I have tube floated elkhorn never been on the Platte! I bet thats pretty interesting with all the high low spots?!?!
Nice vid, very entertaining and informative. it seems that all the highway noise would be fatiguing though. Is there a hiway just behind the camera? Must be amisreable place where one cant hike away from civilization.
Its the humming of a damn power plant near by this patch of woods!!! It's really annoying but i dont have a vast set of woods where I'm located with out traveling some distance. It sucks and probably won't be camping that area again. I'm trying to find some new spots soon.
Only a savage puts ketchup on a brat. Mustard. 😃
LOL.
100% agree Scott! Only Mustard!
Frank's hot sauce! Or Chinese hot mustard!
Try putting some saran wrap around The camera. See how that works
Where r u from n what country please
USA
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee thanks
The struggle is real, you need a bigger tarp , no pooping is video
My sons are 36 and 40. How old are you?
McGee you are hilarious! Dumb to watch, like watching myself outdoors!
Fantastic lol I'll take it!

Dude, if ur using a go pro 3, that snow ain't going to hurt it without a waterproof shell. I've used them in pouring rainstorms and never had an issue, but move up to the hero 7 black..straight up waterproof, no case needed. A bit more money, but well worth it.
I just got the hero 5 shoots same specs as the 7 but alot cheaper. I also rock an external mic on my Gopro and my only concern is when I kayak with them. Cause when the little audio door is open the 5 is not 100 waterproof anymore. Definitely alot lighter then a dslr. Plus shooting in linear takes away that action cam feel and produces some clear shots!
Yea man, I love kayaking, it's mostly what I do during the summer. I use the black 7 now for all my kayak vids. My only issues with gopros are their glitchy, always gotta take out the battery and reset them. A problem the black 7 seems to have also.
@@frankpunisher2346 yeah i heard a out the 7 having battery issues thats why i went with the 5.
Idk if you have saw any of zach fowlers stuff but hes great with a slingshot check him out
Yeah I just started seeing some his slingshot stuff. I am no where close to his skill set slingshot wise. Lol he sells them to right?
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee yes he has all diff kinds
And Haze outdoors is great with a Catty 👌
Superb....
Crap. Wish I had been along on this trip, so I could teach you what my name really is... No worries. You seemed a little irritated that I asked for a birthday shout out on the New Year's Eve video, so I damn sure won't do that again. And I apologize for asking to begin with. Believe me, I won't do it again. Good luck with your videos. Been watching for at least a couple years, but now I think I'll just let you be.
Hey my friend! I wasn't irritated! Just a non planned shit show of a live event! I'll definitely give a shout out my friend! I'm sorry it came off that way. I hope you had a good birthday my apologies! I need to learn how to go live and have it planned better. Sorry it came of that way my friend. My deepest apologies...
