    It was nice to hear from Joan on the intro - southern charm! We’re just back from our maiden voyage in our Class A motor home and are booked for Vogel in the Fall. This video is timed perfectly! LOL!

    Thank you so much for this video. For the last twenty three years, we have vacationed at Vogel SP, primarily as campers, but we've stayed in the cabins a few times also. Each summer we also visit each of these waterfalls (I grew up camping at DeSoto Falls as a child), Neel's Gap, and of course we always enjoy a bag (or two) of boiled peanuts from Sunrise Grocery. These are indeed special spots to us. However, this year we are unable to take a summer vacation as I recuperate from knee replacement surgery. So your video was just the thing we needed to see as we have certainly missed visiting these locations in person this year. Thank you for helping us to feel as if we got to go anyway. Your videos are well done and we enjoy them greatly.

    Nice intro Joan. Vogel State Park reminds me a lot of Hungry Mother State Park in Marion Virginia (southwest). Their campgrounds are not as spacious but the do have a nice one just outside of the park gates. It is run by the park. There sure is a lot of beauty in North Georgia.

    Thanks Jerry and Joan. I’m curious if you’ve seen any “bent trees” during your travels. Native Americans made them as pointers to valuable natural resources. It might be a good topic for future videos. Thanks for all you do and safe travels!

      Search......
      Knights of the golden circle.
      Was a group of southerners that hid gold and fire arms to restart the civil war. I have a book on them and it talks about bent trees marking clues to treasure.
      Happy camping

    Hey Jerry... here’s an idea. Maybe you could take a shot of a map to show where these are located and show that at the beginning or end of the video. That would actually be great on any camp ground video you do.
    As always we enjoy your work!

      I’ll do it. Maybe even throw in a GPS coordinate here and there. One thing we have been doing is keeping OUR TRAVELS map updated on our web site at www.ilovervlife.com. Full Google interaction for directions and most have links to our RUclips videos.

      I’ll admit, we have a couple cans of boiled peanuts in the pantry in case of an emergency 😏. These we taken from a giant pot in the back of the side road market. Shame on me for not showing everyone.

      You didn't mention the kids ages. Few suggestions for kids of all ages. If you have a short camper, Vogel is great. Larger campers Leisure Acres in Cleveland. Helen - tubing is a blast. Also the sky bridge and zip lines are fun. Helen also has a nice water park. Dahlonega - Consolidated mine tour then pan for gold. If the kids aren't to small, try Tallulah Gorge. Check out this coming Saturdays video.

      All of the activities mentioned above would be perfect for that age group. One exception, the Gorge is quite strenuous with 1,000 steps down and 1,000 back up. It's a great adventure for a morning or afternoon. Here's our trek ruclips.net/video/oi9yh1EI__E/видео.html

      Leisure Acres Campground in Cleveland, GA. We like this area if we plan to spend most of our time on the south side of the mountain around Dahlonega and Helen.

    How far in advance do you make reservations at these parks?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  5 лет назад

      Hi Judy. If it's not a holiday week, usually a couple of weeks in advance. We've even found spots days before. But popular holidays, that's a different story. We'll try 5 to 6 months just to make sure we get a nice spot.

    Beautiful but anything over 30’ is tight, tight, tight. Sites are not very level for the most part.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  5 лет назад

      Agree. Tough for the bigger rigs. Most sites were level. The camera isn’t always friendly and little reference. We saw very few leveling blocks used.

    • @hdlowrider5413
      @hdlowrider5413 5 лет назад

      I disagree. We scouted the sites for a future trip. It was during the week so many sites were empty which we walked. Very few were level enough not to at least use most of your hydraulic leveling capability, just like the class A on your video. That being said because the sites are so small the RVs occupying them are small enough to position themselves on a somewhat level spot on the site. Not so much for larger RVs which occupy most of the site. Beautiful park for smaller RVs 👍
