One of those performances which again confirms what an amazing performer she is. The regular version at Budokan 2014 is an other one.
Great reaction Wave, I hope you are feeling much better after your scare. This was a one-off live performance of the 'unfinished' version and it led perfectly into the performance of 'BABYMETAL Death' where she gave up her human life and existence as a JPop Idol to be reborn as the metal goddess Su-metal.
Just 16, but an incredibly moving delivery - I know this brings a lot of people to tears.😥
This is so different to the full version of 'Akatsuki' ... same melody, same lyrics (apart from in this one she didn't sing the last two lines) yet a completely different feel - it could be a completely different song.

Akatsuki is pronounced with the u silent so it reads something like "Ah - kats - key".
This is the same concert you saw in the Gimme Chocolate clip as well other classic clips of Headbanger!! and Babymetal Death, but no there's no trilogy on this, it's only a fan thing you can hear around.
She can deliver, no doubt about it, and she did recently at Houston starting the Babyklok Tour in the US as well in Dallas and yesterday at Orlando.

Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This is the 13th song after exhausting 12 songs, especially right after energy demanding Headbangeeerrr. I teared up when I listened to this song for the first time and still do. I, 68-yo Japanese, had never imagined that I would be taught by a 16-year-old girl a sorrow or heartbreaking emotion which is occasionally incidental to love or loss of it. Our souls are cleansed or purified by Su's voice. I witnessed Akatsuki performed live on Feb.19, 2021 at Budokan with Su's matured rich voice. It was partially unfinished version. I can't explain how beautiful it was with my English vocabulary.
The magic of Su. A completely different emotional take of the same song. Here she is soft and vulnerable, in the full version she is fierce and triumphant.

The heavier version of 'Akatsuki' had already been performed many times before they did this "Unfinished version" for Su's 16th birthday at the 2013 'Legend 1997' concert.
That's the only time this version was performed live.
Interestingly, the "Unfinished version" omits the last two lines of the song, "Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!".
I think that Su's acting talents are severely underrated.
She has mentioned in interviews that she will often select a specific part of a song for special emotional emphasis.
In this case, it looks like she decided to apply that to the whole damn song.
Here's the prologue to 'Akatsuki (Unfinished Ver.)' in Legend "1997":
"In order to defend the soul of the Metal, in exchange for her own life,
SU-METAL fought.
Before long, SU-METAL's soul became the crimson flame,
and dyed the sky crimson.
However, as the distant stars go out,
the end of life is the law of nature.
Now the crimson moon is burning out with SU-METAL."
It's incredible how 2 versions of a song can be so different .
Su, even at just 16, gives an incredible performance .
