    0:37-0:48 is my favorite part of this routine... Including the tumbling which is amazing, but her dance was always what I loved most about her floor

    My favorite choreography in ALL her floor routines is in this one, from 0:40 to 0:48. UNWORLDLY GRACEFULNESS.

      Absolutely! I wish she would've kept those moves in her later FX

    She may not be the best gymnast in the world, but I love how graceful she is out there. Nastia is all about gracefully executing her moves. Her triples were amazing. She brought back the elegance of gymnastics. Gymnastics these days seem to only praise power and height.

      She threw a quad at classics in 2005 but it was kind of a trainwreck lol, she skidded back so far Valeri had to catch her.

      “She may not be the best gymnast in the world”... uhmmm she won the Olympic all around gold medal. Pretty sure that makes her the best gymnast in the world during her time or at least ties her with Shawn because she won worlds

      I think that Nastia is an amazing gymnast but that she lets the pressure get to her more than other gymnasts and messes up more because of that. When you watch Nastia perform, she hardly smiles before, during or after her routine because she’s so concentrated and I think that’s what used to trip her up. When you watch Shawn perform, she always smiles as she presents and finishes as well as throughout the routine, and she seems to have a better record and doesn’t let the pressure get to her as much. I think Nastia is a better gymnast than she often shows (like when she fell off the bars at 2006 visa championships and she stumbles on the beam sometimes), but I think it’s just all the nerves

      morgan Gymnasts have their good days and their bad days. Nastia and Shawn were the two best gymnasts for their time, but I won’t make such an overarching claim that they are the absolute best in the world in the history of gymnastics. That’s what I meant by “she may not be the best in the world.”

      Kayana the pressure from her father and the public did a lot to her. Everyone expected so much from her, and after her ankle injury and for being called “too old” for gymnastics, it took a toll on her performance as an incredible gymnast. You’re right: she probably was much better than what she showed. But in the end, it’s about what you bring to the table that matters, and that’s why I can never forget the moment she finally got Gold. It was her dream.

    Yeah they were not required to do double somersaults until the revised code of points in 2006. This was still the 10 start value scoring compared to the execution and difficulty scoring nowadays.

      I really wish they would change it back. Now that there’s a difficulty aspect all of these gymnasts are focusing on power tumbling and height. I wish there was gracefulness nowadays. I wonder if they’ll ever change it back. All gymnastics up until about 2008 were so beautiful and graceful especially when they did compulsories. It’s so disappointing it’s not like that anymore.

    Nastia has incredibly beautiful lines and feet as a gymnast in all that she does. But I didnt like this routine, music, or her performance. It was okay. But not great. Left me cold. She wasnt performing, she was just doing. The choregraphy to me was cookie cutter. And she just seemed strained. The stag leap was beautiful.

      She competed at 3.5 twist in 2005 and there were rumors of her training a quad. But then she got injured and kinda had to reinvent her routine and adjust to the new code of points (hence the addition of the double front tuck) I've never found a video of her doing a quad though.

      Se31298 Actually it´s here on youtube a video of her attempting it on training and another on 2005 Classic, but she didn't get it all around.

    • @AlejandroAriasSVaughan
      @AlejandroAriasSVaughan 10 лет назад +3

      The video I watched is her attempting a 3.5... attempting, because that 3.5 was not completely executed, like McKayla Maroney did in 2012. Im a big fan of Nastia though. :)

    • @Elong.
