Pat and her guitarist, Neil Giraldo, have been married for 40+ years. Their incredible synergy is always evident. They were finally inducted into the R & R Hall of Fame last year.
I had forgotten how good this song is...with its complexities, her husband Neil Geraldo's guitar work, and, of course her vocals! Pat Benatar has always been a a little dynamo who owned the stage! Sounds like you previously heard "Hit Me With Your best Shot"......also check out "Hell Is For Children" (it has a message) and her all-time rocker "Heartbreaker".
😉 Very underrated Pat song! She held her own at a time when Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett/Lita Ford, Cyndi Lauper & Kate/Cindy (B-52s) were ruling the MTV Charts! For a split second, 🤩 these women kicked a lot of "Metal Hair Bands" off the charts! 😊🐰
A FORCE to be RECKONED WITH - the lady has an INCREDIBLE voice and Neil's guitar work is SO WELL PAIRED...definitely a GREAT rabbit hole to check out!! You'll dig her stuff!! Funny - I remember, in early high school - there were two factions - all the girls either wanted to dress like Pat Benetar or Madonna!! 🤣🤣🤣 HUGS!! ❤☮
The drummer "Frankenstein" has a punk background, Guitarist Neil Spyder Giraldo is Pat;s husband and a massively underrated master rock guitarist, Pat was a classically trained Opera singer who left the conservatory when she told her professors she wants to be the female Roger Plant. So the perfect meld of punk, rock and classical
The Em7 riff is amazing, and Neil's guitar work here is A++++, the solo alone is a masterclass of technique and tone. And of course, Pat's vocals and lyrics are, as always, perfect.
Wow, bought back some OLD memories of the summer of 81 and we were all Pat Benatar freaks, knew every word to every song and wore this album out. Glad you guy finally got into more early Pat, her husband Neil is an incredible guitar player who never gets his dues. Want to hear a rocking yet haunting tune by her? Never Wanna Leave You will blow your heads off. A great deep cut from Crimes of Passion is "Out of Touch." Her version of Helter Skelter is awesome as is Just Like Me.
Myron Grombacher - the secret weapon in Pat's band. His drumming on this album & Crimes of Passion is a joy to listen to. You must also do Treat Me Right & You Better Run.
She also has a track You better Run which Robert Plant recorded in 1966 before Zeppelin . Plant was just 18. One of Pat Benatar's best tunes. Check them both out.
Pat is one of my all-time favorite vocalists. Neil Giraldo is an awesome guitar player as well... The little sweep picking thing he does on this solo is greatness and totally tasteful.
You two always seem to nail it with a song off an album. I forgot about this banger and will be playing it on the turntable this evening after work. Thank you, again, gents.
Her husband Neil Geraldo is a great guitarist. Love those 4 or 5 records from 79 to 85. Precious Time is a darker record than the Crimes of Passion record. A great record with some of her most powerful songs.
Haven't heard that one in a very long time. Man I used to dream about this lady when I was 13-14 years old. Those tight leather pants drove this boy wild!! And that voice... this is her on a slow day. Her lungs seem to take up her entire upper body at times. You look at her and you're like, 'where did that come from?' Keep em coming gentlemen!!
Love your reaction. This was one of the first records I ever owned. Still sounds as fresh today as it did in '82. If you thought this track was great, I can't wait to see you react to "Promises in the Dark"!
Your subscribers described this powerhouse duo exactly! Never considered myself a big fan as I’m older, but gotta give credit where credit is due. Your reaction mirrors reality..spot on as usual! Cheers!
I like to think that Pat Benatar continued the powerful, beautiful voices where Linda Ronstadt left off in the early 80s.I say this now as an adult. But when Benatar came on the scene, she made me forget Ronstadt in the blink of an eye. I listen to them both now and always will.😎👍👍
Pat has countless amazing songs. Hell is for Children, Promises in the Dark, Treat me Right, Hit me with your best shot (her most popular song), Heartbreaker, Love is a battlefield, We Belong, Shadows of the night, Invincible... just to name a few. Hope to see you guys react to all of them. lol
Love is a Battlefield is what you're thinking of. Huge, huge 80s/MTV hit and what most people think of when you say Pat Benatar. She had some other really big hits too. As an 80s teen, I'd never heard this one, so thanks!!
You guys are THE BEST!!!! I love some chick singers, and she is one of them!!! She's fine as hell, can ding her ass off, and her snd her husband( Neil Gerardo), the guitarist, write great songs!!!
Some other great Pat Benatar songs are: “Heartbreaker”, “We Live for Love”, “You Better Run”, “Fire and Ice”, “Shadows of the Night”, “Looking for a Stranger”, “Ooh Ooh Song”, “Invincible”, “Le Bel Age”, “Love is a Battlefield”, “Promises in the Dark”, “Treat Me Right”, “Don’t Let It Show”, and “Bloodshot Eyes”. 💕💜💕💜💕💜
Her voice is amazing. This is one of her best albums Promises in the Dark, Hell is for Children, We belong, FIre and Ice , Helter SKelter - I always thought this song had kind of a slow rap vibe to it. I love this song. Her voice is so fierce and her husband/producer guitarist Neil Geraldo kills it on the guitar solo
I am a huge Pat fan she was originally trained to sing opera. You should definitely check out more of her stuff. I think someone mentioned Promises in the dark but also Get Nervous, I never wanna leave you, Wuthering Heights, In the Heat of the night, Hell is for children, Helter Skelter (cover of a Beatles song), You Better run, Everybody lay down, somebody's Baby, I want out and Tell it to Her.
I tried to check before I recommended this, just to see if you've played it already... I couldn't find it. "Love is a battlefield" is a fantastic song by Pat Benatar, and/or "Hell is for Children". I'm so happy I found you guys Love your reactions❤
Patty and Neil's chemistry on this song and the whole album is fantastic. Neil's solo on this trick is one of my favourites ever. If you want to hear Patty's voice in full cry, have a listen to a couple of other tracks from this album: Fire and Ice (holy smokes that's a performance and a half) and Promises in the Dark.
Thanks you guys! You've really enhanced my appreciation for this song. I've always liked her since she started and my enjoyment just keeps increasing! I had never noticed how great this song is. I love the shifting tempos and rhythms. You were trying to think of one of her songs at the end of this video. My guess is that it's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". One of her biggest hits.
Great song, Pat and Neil have been killing it since 1980. To see them in their prime just going off, see them in the New Haven Colloseum 1983 for Heartbreaker. She is in peak form and Neil let's loose his inner Pete Townsend and goes crazy in one of the best climaxes to a song I have ever seen/heatd. Amazing stuff, their last best video for sure, enjoy! 🎧🎸🎤🎹🎶
Pat was the 2nd video to play on the new MTV. I saw it. The next day, I went and had all my hair cut off…still have Pat hair today. Pat was a trendsetter before we knew who Madonna was.
Well guys, you did it. I had filed Pat Benetar years ago in Not Interested file, but listening and watching your reaction to her the song as two musicians & producers, you have influenced me to take the Benetar goggles off and give her/them a much deeper listen. Thanks guys! Great reaction as usual!
This is my favorite track by this group. The guitar solo by Neil Giraldo is so good. The whole groove of this song is outstanding, it really breaths, a lot of open space, and it just feels so damn good. Pat's voice is outstanding as well.
Wow!! You guys are Amazing!!! Y'all put into words and point out the details and the actual reasons why we love the songs we love.!.. Love jamming along with you guys!.. Fantastic range of songs too.!!...So glad i found this channel tonight...im having so much fun jamming with Y'all.!! Keep it up..Loving this channel right now.!! ...For real!!
This is such a freaking great song- if you like the vibe of this I’m Gonna Follow You is amazing to. Love you guys and subscribed a while ago! Thank you for checking these out. To little girls in the early 80s she was a strong, beautiful music role model. Not pushy, just no nonsense. We hadn’t heard much of that back then. Voice clear as a bell, opera trained, amazing control. 🔥 Also this song is kind of a fan favorite. They had a video for it that played on MTV but on top 40 radio its a bit too long for their format back then. Love it though.
Guys, please watch Hell is for Children live on Fridays, which was a variety show in the 80s. Powerful song about child abuse that will blow you away, and the guitar solo is insane.
Been listening to Pat since she debuted on the music scene. This song is one I thought everyone had forgotten about. I know it currently is the only PB song permanently residing on my devices. Really surprised to see anyone actually reacting to it.
Pat Benantar sort of straddled the fence between hard rock and pop rock. She emerged in the beginning of the 1980's. She created her sound with a mixture of driving power chords of arena rock along with a combination of tough girl rocker mixed with some heavily commercialized mainstream pop music. Don't get me wrong, Benatar was a trailblazer and a rule-breaker and remains to be a bold force to this day, in fact I believe she and her husband (Giraldo) is still performing. She has had two multi-Platinum albums, five Platinum albums, and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles. Lots to discover down this rabbit hole, bro, lol Here's another one of her highly successful songs, if interested. "[01]Pat Benatar - Treat Me Right - Live 2001" (by the channel: Kittyup1) the studio version is more of a pop rock song; the video I suggested is a live performance and she delivers the song with a lot more grit. (IMO) (either one will sound great)
Hello Airplay Beats. Pat Benatar was originally trained as an Opera singer but decided not to pursue a career in classical music. If you want to hear the more classical/musical theatre side of her voice, please listen to her recordings of the songs "Don't Let it Show" and "Wuthering Heights". Thank You.
pat and neil and neil and pat what a great team in music and life. if you get a chance check out the cbs sunday morning show on them as a rock n roll couple. i think around 40 years together.
This album is the a classic example of "All Killer, No Filler" - even the cover of a Beatles classic is mind-meltingly fresh and powerful.
She was something, at least 4 straight monster albums in a row
Pat and her guitarist, Neil Giraldo, have been married for 40+ years. Their incredible synergy is always evident. They were finally inducted into the R & R Hall of Fame last year.
Pat is in her own league. Nothing like her. Worth diving into more of her work.
Promises in the dark is a must ! Her presence is mesmerizing. She is a beautiful lady.
....those first 3 albums r stellar.
Pat's on her game
😉 Very underrated Pat song! She held her own at a time when Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett/Lita Ford, Cyndi Lauper & Kate/Cindy (B-52s) were ruling the MTV Charts! For a split second, 🤩 these women kicked a lot of "Metal Hair Bands" off the charts! 😊🐰

One of Pat's best deep cuts... Props for shining some light on this classic track where Pat & Neil really shine... (Myron, too!)
For me his best, most wicked solos are on this record.
@@FredPena-rd5cf He certainly wasn't shy on the volume mix!
She is Gorgeous, beautiful voice, good song writing!! One of my favorites from her!!!!!!
"Promises in the Dark" is a scorcher. I've seen them live and her vocals are insane. Neil is also such a master guitarist.
Yes! Check out the live version.
Wow, bought back some OLD memories of the summer of 81 and we were all Pat Benatar freaks, knew every word to every song and wore this album out. She is one if the greatest singers of all time. And her husband is amazing on guitar.
Myron Grombacher - the secret weapon in Pat's band. His drumming on this album & Crimes of Passion is a joy to listen to. You must also do Treat Me Right & You Better Run.
Love Myron!
Best Pat Benatar song.
She also has a track You better Run which Robert Plant recorded in 1966 before Zeppelin . Plant was just 18. One of Pat Benatar's best tunes. Check them both out.

Great song. Classic album
You two always seem to nail it with a song off an album. I forgot about this banger and will be playing it on the turntable this evening after work. Thank you, again, gents.
The song is just fire, slow dough that bakes in the oven, it’s so nice, crazy groove, definitely on my playlist!
She's tough.... Always loved that expression pouring through her vocals.... There is so much more...
Love Pat Benatar... If you're looking for more bangers:
Fire and Ice
Heartbreaker
Hell is for Children
Promises in the Dark
You Better Run
And the blazing "Never wanna leave you."
Her husband Neil Geraldo is a great guitarist. Love those 4 or 5 records from 79 to 85. Precious Time is a darker record than the Crimes of Passion record. A great record with some of her most powerful songs.

She's fairly petite, too, at 5' 0" tall.
@@dhfenske Oh yeah. A spinner for sure. 😍😍
I just saw her and her husband a couple months ago perform. Believe me, she still has it !
Pat was THE Queen of Rock in the early 80s. I loved that you guys loved it!
Wow brings me back in day. She was a pure powerhouse singer. Lotta hits
Heartbreaker & Hell Is For Children. Can't miss.
OMG! I forgot how good this song is and how much I love it! Great reaction as always!
Love your reaction. This was one of the first records I ever owned. Still sounds as fresh today as it did in '82. If you thought this track was great, I can't wait to see you react to "Promises in the Dark"!
Thank you for this. I'm so happy right now! Please go down this rabbit hole for a bit! Try Fire and Ice next or Promises in the Dark!! ❤❤❤
LOVED her long time!!! One of my favorite album covers !❤️❤️🤘🏻
She is iconic and has a great band. 😎
My favorite Benatar Geraldo song. Such a vibe
Invincible. Listen to it. Talk about vocals. Benetar rules!
Your subscribers described this powerhouse duo exactly! Never considered myself a big fan as I’m older, but gotta give credit where credit is due. Your reaction mirrors reality..spot on as usual! Cheers!
More Benatar!!! Great music and a cool last name!!!
Hope you rewatch this!!! Che is loving it!! Spinning his record and shit!! Awesome!!!!

She has some amazing songs!
Neil Geraldo, one of rock’s most underrated guitarists. One of my favorites and with Pat on vocals how can you go wrong?
Her voice is amazing. This is one of her best albums Promises in the Dark, Hell is for Children, We belong, FIre and Ice , Helter SKelter - I always thought this song had kind of a slow rap vibe to it. I love this song. Yeah the rock stuff is a cinch for her, she can opera it up ( trained ) and jazz it up in the local club scene like no one else . Absolute power !!
So cool you notice and appreciate a classically trained voice! Thanks for a super good review of a great band!
Damn I haven't heard this one in years. Great tune!
The song you were referring to that you probably heard from her was "Love is a battlefield"
Or Heartbreaker, her first big hit.
Next two should be Heartbreaker and Promises in the dark. The song you probably know from her is Love is a battlefield.
Great song guys and reaction. Thanks.
She does an intense song called "Hell is for children", It is a must.
Patty and Neil's chemistry on this song and the whole album is fantastic. Neil's solo on this trick is one of my favourites ever. Pat started out as an opera singer.

That’s awesome. This is why we do this.
Hell Is For Children by Pat Benatar is a must. Especially live from New Haven the HBO concert. Studio version does rock as well though.
Never heard this one. Have to add to my PB collection.
Yes. Excellent. But again I will say , Promises in the Dark. Will anyone second the motion?
I second that.
Third.
TITLE TRACKKKK, BANGERRRR!!! 💯😊
She’s got some really good songs and an incredible voice
I read that she began with her focus towards Opera. I don't know how true that is, but it makes sense to me.
Promises in the Dark is my favorite
killer tune
Went to see her live in the early '80s. She was so big back then. Incredible show.
Thanks for doing this one. I forgot how good it is.
This is my favorite track by this group. The guitar solo by Neil Giraldo is so good. The whole groove of this song is outstanding, it really breaths, a lot of open space, and it just feels so damn good. Pat's voice is outstanding as well.
Open space. Perfect description. Never heard or used in music anymore.

pat and neil and neil and pat what a great team in music and life. if you get a chance check out the cbs sunday morning show on them as a rock n roll couple. i think around 40 years together.

Oh wow I haven't heard this song on a long time! Thanks for this one guys! I love your channel gentlemen! Keep it up! (Kansas raised also).
Neil is an amazing guitarist
Al Green. A change is gonna come live!!
Thank you guys
Pat Benatar also did a jazz album that's worth a review or two
