Thank You! Proof that you can turn a pigs ear into a silk purse! However, if there's a solution to the tire issue I didn't have the time or the parts to make it happen. As I mentioned in the video, I have a box of tires, there must be at least 200 tires in that and I couldn't find a single tire that the rim would fit into. Then there's the issue of how the rims mount to the chassis. I imagine with time, luck and a little ingenuity this could be reconfigured for better wheels and tires. The front being the most difficult. Of course, a person could just straight up start drill holes and pushing metal axles through them but to make it look good... Now there's the challenge! Thanks for watching!
I noticed about the tires too.. They fell short on that part of the kit. They just don’t look right at all. Tire height looks off… suspicious 🤨 other than that the kit looks great 👍 @@scaleautoguysworkbench
Sorry for the late reply... I thought that a tire with a shorter sidewall would have looked way better on this. The 1:1 car sports a 225/70-15 tire. When looking at images of the 1:1 car, the tire sidewall isn't as tall. Someone over there at Revell got this one thing wrong and it kind of throws off the visuals on this kit. Other than that though, the body and the interior was straight and it went together without issue.
Beautiful build🔥🔥🔥 I've been wanting this kit to add to my camaro collection. I would probably use the tires from the 78-79 elcamio kit this body style had similar rims to the elcamio stock rims or just use the Cragar wheels they are staggered. Like the Baldwin Motion Camaro has Cragar wheels.
Thank You! A lot of people aren't in love with this kit. It's a basic, one step above a snap together type of kit but it does have a ton of potential for those that can see it. As you saw in the video I built it box stock but with some modification I'm sure that you could graft the Baldwin Motion wheels and tires to this. Good luck on your build!
I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your channel. Finally somebody that is old-school. It seems to me that the majority of the channels are younger folks who are trying to build, chop, or add after-market parts to a Tamiya Japanese import that I have never heard of and I’m sure the majority of them have never put their foot down on a hopped up small block Chevy LOL. Well, Thank You! I just build the way I learned how to. Started building way back in the early 70's. I have picked up some "new" things along the way but I still love the Testors Orange tube. Incidently, I own a hopped up small block Chevy and it's in the perfect sleeper, a 1983 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. It looks like an old mans car until I snap the four barrel wide open. This was a junkyard car until I bought it way back in 1995. Dumped the 305 Olds in favor of the 383 with an Edelbrock Performer intake, Turbo 350 with a B&M shift kit driving 3.73 gears. It's not the fastest car on the road but she certainly turns heads. Thanks for watching!

Even the crappiest pigs ear can sometimes be made into a silk purse. Thanks for watching!
The Z/28 turned out awesome... Great video! I was always going to pick this up, had been told, like you said a almost snap tight style kit.. It would be worth buying for the decal sheet.. Once again nice build! Have a good one!
Thank You! And Thank You for the Sub! This kit is very controversial because it is basically a snap together but that isn't an excuse for being put together poorly. I believe that anyone can make this kit look good with a little effort.
I totally agree! This is more along the lines of a skill level one. I hadn't realized when I built, videoed and posted this build on the channel how much negative feedback I would receive over it. Still, if you allow yourself to forgive Revell for foisting this kit upon us, ( take a leap of faith so to speak ), I think that it turned out to be a decent looking kit. Thank you for watching!
They replicated the P225 70 R15 set which was the stock tire/Wheel size. Though the way they scaled them it looks to be P225 75 R15 giving the tires a higher profile and meatier look. This had a very clean body, chassis and interior for the most part. There is plenty of room to customize this kit. The tires and wheels would require a bit more effort but I could see it being modified. Thanks for watching!
As a general rule, I wait a minimum of 24 hours ( sometimes longer ) between coats including clear and primer coats. I do this just to make sure that the paint has had time to gas out fully. This kit does have some disappointing features to it. I'll grant you that. In spite of that, it still looks good when it's finished. The consensus amongst most builders is that it is a garbage kit barely one step above a snap kit. Though there is a bit of truth to that, I found it to be a little refreshing to build something that was a bit different.

That kit isn't worth the price I took mine back
I agree 100% and I mention that in the intro to the video but.... If you can find it at Hobby Lobby during their 40% off sale you can save yourself around $15 and that makes the price come into line with a somewhat average cost. I only paid like $20 and tax for this and it really does build up nice. I f you were the adventurous type, I imagine that you could cut out that two piece engine and put something nicer under the hood. The wheels and tires could also be upgraded but that would be a little more work. I agree that when a person buys a kit they shouldn't have to re-engineer it to make it look good but thankfully this one does build up nice but could use some refinement.
Looks very disappointing.
No
No what? I don't understand...
