I've just been watching a British show about people living a year in History (this particular season was 17th century) and they were doing all the hay work by hand. Now they didn't nearly have as much land to do as you, but it sure looked like hard work! Glad you got your tractor sorted or we might see you out there with a hand fork cussin' and kickin' LOL!
The only part of hay harvest I ever participated in was throwing bales on the truck as it creeped through the field. I needed to partner up by the end of the haul because my arms were like spaghetti! LOL Those suckers get heavy after throwing them awhile!

Farming/ranching is one of the most challenging things I’ve tried. At the same time, it’s also one of the most rewarding when things go right. It’s a love hate relationship. Crazy addictive business.

Brings back fond memories for me ♥️ Bailing hay on my Papaw’s farm. Driving the hay wagon at 6 years old in the hills of TN. Never had a problem getting help in as everyone knew my Granny’s cooking couldn’t be beat ♥️ Wish I could go back in time ♥️

Man I can so relate. I used to make hay at my ranch in Michigan. That’s a tough place to make hay but I’ve made tens of thousands of bales there. I thought making hay in Texas would be easier but it isn’t. I’ve made hay in East Texas and if you’re not fighting weather, you’re fighting equipment. I guess it’s just tough making hay everywhere. Out here in Western Texas isn’t any easier

I agree the mechanical aspect of farming is a pain in the a**. That’s not to say horses can’t be a pain, but they are typically easier to understand. Of course that’s just my biases showing through.
Need a breeze ? I’d be getting the bird out 🚁 but then that’s me....any excuse to go flying !! 😆
It’s always something when ranchin, but that’s why we do it.. for the adventure and keeping us on our toes!

Ranching must teach patience … staying calm with the smoking tractor would not be easy for most of us🙄
Everyone needs to watch this. Make them realize the work that goes into feeding those city folk, farming is hard work. Another enjoyable watch, hate your tractor broke down.🇺🇸

@@t-money8572 , I was talking about farming in general! Raising cows, pigs, chickens, growing fruits and vegetables. You do understand that we have to feed the animals for the meat people buy, right? Why do we have people who think being snarky is okay? Did your parents not teach you manners? I know mine did, I would never treat someone so rudely. But I will pray for you to learn kindness. 🙏

How in the world did you do that did you run it out of hydro we do custom hay and I have never seen anything like that
I spent my life baling hay…and would suspect the tractor was slap out of fluid…but would think it would have thrown a code or light.
The hydraulic bypass valve malfunctioned.
Looks like that tractor needs to be the same color as your baler. 🙂
EQUIPTMENT like a woman.....love/hate. I baled for 4 summers till i found out about being a golf caddy. The crew i worked with got paid $1.15 per hour....and we had a conveyor belt to mowe the hay in the barn...

Baling hay out west is a dream compared to back in the Midwest. Putting your hay on the ground is the best way to watch for rain clouds not so far off. If your brave enough and there’s a remote chance it will pass. Go quick as you can an Tedder your crop, get much sun a possible. Then lay in bed at night an hope you pulled the trigger at the right time. I been driving the western states looking at different operations, I recall ever seeing a Tedder used, there must be? BUT all you ranchers all said an done got some PURTY hay your putting up. 👍👍👍👍👍..l coulda shot holes in my TV weather forecast cause they was wrong again……everybody have a good evening…….I’m praying western states get some rain for your Reservoirs

Maybe that cap vibrated loose and off because you can see oil on tires and you ran dry, either way bad. Of course they are not interested in putting a low oil warning horn on PTO.

It was probably out of fluid. I always check all fluids before I run my tractor. They are just to damn expensive to fix.
