Thanks for talking about this issue lego has! I bought a new mos eisley cantina and it was missing several of the bar section pieces including the railing. very frustrating
@@bricksailor1695 ah yea, they were able to send me all but two types of pieces. Strange because they are so common but I’m guessing the specific shade is not. I was concerned because it’s an older set.
I was missing a whole bag from technic set 42030. Had to talk to LEGO customer service. They were nice enough to help. The only set Out of more then 100 large sets that was missing any pieces. Hope you have better luck with the rest.
I have a feeling personally that when something retires it goes up high and then mellows out so if you can hold out, I would but make sure to save a search for it on eBay and you might catch a good deal randomly. Obviously you’re going to pay more than retail but you want to minimize it. Probably some FOMO still going on over the retirement.

That's sucks! I don't think you are alone. I watched another content creator last week who was also missing the same pieces. They had recently purchased from a bricklink seller as well. Either LEGO had an issue at the factory or something fishy going on.
daaaaaaaaaaamn! thats crazy - i wonder who got your pieces, and what set the bag of randome stuff you have is from! never bad to have a bunch of extra random technic laying around though, for sure!
Sorry that happened to you. That’s a lot of missing pieces. I had one missing part in the Mickey and Minnie mouse character set , it was a 2x2 plate with ball joint , i had one in my collection of parts i didn’t bother reporting it to LEGO .
Do you think maybe bricklink sent it to you and replaced the missing parts with other ones?? Giving you the illusion that you had the right number of parts and maybe you got s good deal on it because of that??? I know you mentioned it was factory sealed but was the tape really secure on it??? I've found Lego sets in stores before where it looked like it was factory sealed but looking closer at one I saw the tape was just laying against the edge not completely sticking. I wouldn't think that the Lego manufacturer would send it out missing so many pieces...but I can see another sender doing that. I haven't come across that but one seller I order Lego sets from all the time sent me a new xwing set completely crushed and the city passenger plane with the whole end opened(and not caring) when I got it...so I can see other sellers doing something shady...
Your guess at this point is as good as mine, but it wasn't really any sort of grand piece assortment. The figs were there. The extra small bag of technic was odd. Let's see when I open up the pet shop from the seller.
Update! I have all but two pieces on the way. Thanks to LEGO! I will have to order the other two on bricklink.

We've definitely been in running into this more and more lately!
When I got this set, the 1x1 reddish brown tiles cracked. Customer service helped and it is now in all new condition.

I'm sure that had to be frustrating, i mean to open a mint in box set that is no longer being produced and have missing pieces. Gosh....

Yes you can def find it for at least a $100+ less. I paid about $300 for mine as well but right now might be closer to $350
