all of my precious teen years wasted on something that i utterly detest now, but stuff has to happen to learn from it and compare it to the good you can have in your life that you would otherwise take for granted
Instagram is not the same anymore. It used to be very peronal everyone's feed was filled with their hobbies, cats & family. We used no filters and astetics it was just one blurry pic. To be honest that felt so REAL. Social media these days is just MEDIA, there is nothing social anymore. People go on it to escape their REALITY, instead of facing them to make their real life better. Just delete the app, face the boredom and after that my friend your will appriciate life ❤
I totally agree. People don’t even post there anymore. Everyone is just reposting stuff or stalking others without ever leaving a like or whatever. That’s the reason I left IG six months ago.
People always say they don’t delete their socials because that is the only way to keep in touch with friends and family. But that is only an excuse, because a real friendship will continue also without social media.💕
The best thing I ever did was deleting instagram and I’m much more happier being off it. More productive and creative. Started my RUclips channel and got my love back for music because of it. I miss how life was pre social media. This month will make a year for me off instagram
i've been watching "deleting social media" videos for months now. Yours is one of the best ones. Although I plan to keep instagram and fb messenger to keep contact with a few long distance friends and family from another country, your video inspired me to definitely use it less and carefully! All the point you talked about I could relate too. It's definitely not healthy for society as a whole.
Twitter is was impacting my mental health, wasting my time and limited my potential. I realized I could gain so many skills, or focus on passions and develop myself with the time I waste scrolling on Twitter. Using time to your benefit is necessary.
I totally understand where you coming from, you don't realise until you stop using social media that it is a form of addiction like any other drug, the brain wants constant stimulation and validation very toxic for the brain in the long run. Constant scrolling for no other reason than to stimulate my brain has destroyed my life, stopped me from achieving my goals, and made me unmotivated to do anything. I couldn't stop completely but I am making good progress week by week. Thank you for sharing your journey, take care.

Hi Jordan, I relate to this! 💖I am glad I found your video because I also moved to another country and then not long ago, decided to shut down my IG for good, I guess I am now watching RUclips videos of people who have also decided to live a life without Instagram and that's how I discovered you!! I appreciate your honestly and how you address how toxic it can be, even if we try to fool ourselves into thinking we will just use it "for work". I wrote about my own journey without social media yesterday in my newsletter and I thought you might like it 😊😊(I don't know how to put a link here, but it's on my profile!)
It resonated so much to me everything that U said, I have observed me & whenever I'm in any platform of social media my anxiety increases, even if it's good content I become obsessed over it, I'm having a break from it. Thank U⚘️⚘️
Thank you for this!! I’ve been back and forth with whether keeping social media is really beneficial for me and I haven’t come up with one valuable reason. But I have lots of reasons to shut it all down. I know my answer.
I'm 38 and I remember going to parties in high school when most of us had phones, but none were smart (the phones). Whenever there was a lull in the party, or I suddenly found myself with no one to talk to, I might just lean against the wall and watch people pulse and circulate around the party, then I might wander around for a few minutes searching for chance encounters. Of course, this also meant gravitating to whereever the drinks are, or going for one more cigarette... addictions and bad habbits still haunting those awkward, quiet moments. Honestly, at this point i'd probably prefer to live with a those than be stuck again on my late smartphone (RIP).
I really loved the positive vibes and the slow-paced words, It inspired me to restrict myself from social media, and I’m feeling so much better for it. Thank you for this refreshing perspective!
Such a good video. I'm in the process of restricting my use of social media but I struggle because I don't really have any close friends other than my boyfriend, so I realised social media was giving me a false sense of connection to other people. I wish I could find more like minded people like you in real life!
I truly understand what you are saying! And I promise you the more that you will be in that mindset - you will start to meet amazing people that have the same mindset !!
So I only deleted the app because I feel like deleting the account just was a big deal for me. I didn’t know if I would only delete for a couple of months and I didn’t want everything that I posted to be forever gone😅 So I would say if you are considering- just delete the app not your account. That way this decision feels much easier !
@@victoriaxstormno no I did I don’t have the apps available anywhere I just didn’t go through the process of deleting my account completely I didn’t know if it would be temporary at first , this is why I chose to do it that way ❤
I wish to use my social media accounts (Facebook amd Instagram) just to post my blog articles so that I will be able to gather audience. Is it advisable according to you? Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance!
I think that for business- Instagram, Facebook… they are necessary for marketing and getting this growth and audience. Honestly in that case I would use those platforms- but if you want to use those platforms in a healthy way and only for marketing your blog I would make some restrictions. My number one mistake I did with my business account is that I used it on my phone and I used it for … personal use - I just scrolled and scrolled 😅 So today what I would do differently if I ever need to market a business again on social media , is accessing those apps from a computer, or a device that is not your phone and not always with you. Treat it like business and if you want to avoid being addicted to those apps - make a list of what you need to do , put a time block to get it done and most important thing is don’t have it accessible from your phone because it’s always with you and it’s easy to always check and scroll like that. I really hope this advice helps you, and good luck on your blog!🤍🙏
Wow that s a good question… Honestly no, at the moment I don’t feel like using the app again But sometimes I do think about what will I do if I need to use it again for business… So I will have to figure this out myself but as of now- I really feel like my life( and mental health) is so much better without it ! And at the moment I don’t have any desire to comeback…
Unfortunately , I’m just feeling miserable without social networks. I can’t keep up with loneliness. I can’t relate to being alone. When I’m in instagram, I feel like someone is actively checking me , looking for me, trying to find my profile. Im a narcissist person a bit and without social networks I’m feeling miserable , worthless , that I am nobody
I'm sorry you're struggling with that. Maybe you can try finding other ways to connect with people? It's about finding healthy ways to connect in real life , not just the validation from social media. Either way I honestly think we should all do what is best for ourselves…. Deleting socials won’t do good for everyone ( especially if they don’t want it ) But I do think that it’s healthy for everyone to take a break from socials, and learn to live and be present in the real world 🤍
Hi! I still have WhatsApp because this is how I communicate with my family ( I am living abroad, this is the only app that they have for calls and messages) But do whatever feels good for you, if you binge watch WhatsApp stories, then maybe consider a way of restricting or deleting the app🤍
