  • After Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy there is not enough gall bladder juice coming into the digest the heavy meals. As such this disturbance would have happened before the surgery because once the gall stones are formed the capacity of a gallbladder to contact may be reduced with chronic cholecystitis. So there is some digestive distance even after operating and after digestion this may continue. So doing Cholecystectomy doesn’t mean we are removing your digressive problem. We are just removing the gall stones that are harmful for you and stone is better even before the gall bladder gets into complexities. So the gall bladder is removed the digestion is again considered to be slowed down. So these individuals have to eat slow meals frequently rather than heavy meals at a time and they should avoid any food that forms gas like besan, maida, breads, biscuits, bakery items, it is very important post gall bladder surgery. It is very important to go for soft foods and liquid food soft food is good for digestion and fruits and vegetables is good for you rather than eating breads, biscuits and chapatis.

I got mine 1 week ago. You have to take liquids for one day after surgery and for two weeks you have to eat plain food (no oil and spices) so that your incisions heal and there is no problem in digestion. After 2 weeks you can slowly go back to your regular diet (spices, non veg, etc). Don't take very heavy meals initially. And there is no other long term problem after gall bladder removal so don't worry guys.😉💕

GUYS YOU CAN EAT AFTER SURGERY!
this video is just suggesting you eat small portions and mainly plain foods. White rice, nuts, toast, soup. If you experience constipation take stool softeners! they help me go to the bathroom. I would take one or two before my first meal of the day. i had my gallbladder removed on July 30. I have been eating whatever i want now lol, i probably shouldn't but it's hard! especially because i am now finding out that i can no longer eat how i used too. My dr sent me home the same day i had surgery without telling me what i can or can't eat, when i can shower again, if i'll ever be able to smoke again. I regret having my gallbladder removed but there was a stone in it and it was infected, i had pain attacks many times a year and this time it lasted 4 days!... now im seeing all these comments that people still have pain and deal with constipation, anxiety, had to go vegan, etc. it sucks. i feel helpess but i know i'm not alone in this.. none of us are 😞

I got mine 2 days ago.. Let me share my honest experience.. The operation was really painless as the anesthesia played it's role but during the time when I was being diagnosed with anesthesia I got a little amount of pain in my back.. Immediately after few minutes my lower body was out of control..I had no sensations on my abdominal and lower body area.. And I don't even remember when did I slept there in the OT. I woke up in the middle of the surgery and saw the TV screen which was displaying my organs and the live procedure... Post that surgery, I was shifted to a different ward for the observation.. My surgery was done at evening 7pm and I got free by 7.30 from the OT and then after being shifted to the observation ward I was there for 12 hours means till the next morning... This night was neither too hard nor too easy...I had slight pain in my abdominal area due to the stitches but due to no sensation I couldn't make much body movement.. And the urine pipe was something which irritated me but trust me even after this I got a good sleep.. And then after completing my 12 hours of observation period my urine pipe got removed and then I got shifted to my private room for the rest... The first day was a bit challenging as making some body movements was really hard but on the second day I felt a little better...I can easily walk now and poop very easily and normally... No hard pain on poop... Trust me I haven't done my surgery from an utter luxury or fancy hospital.. It was a normal hospital and even then the experience was good and normal... So if you're planning to get your gall bladder removal surgery done for any reason then fear not, everything will be fine.. Just take rest after the surgery and eat light food and follow the medications in the right way... The best treatment is to not think much... Don't overthink.. Everything will be fine..#AllTheBest
Have a good day dear 💕

I'm three weeks out from removal, and, wondering the same thing. Thank you for sharing. It's good to know I'm not alone. I'm still feeling a lot of discomfort on my right side, especially when I sit down. I had four holes rather than three, cause my gall bladder was necrotic, and, surgery took longer than usual. I was told the next day I could eat anything I wanted, but, everything I ate tasted nasty. Couldn't wait to get home and fix my favorites. But, my food tasted nasty, too, for about a week and a half. This past week foods are tasting better. That's why I'm on here now, looking for answers to my problems. Went back for my 2 week check up, and, the doctor didn't know what to tell me about the spasms of abdominal pain. He was only concerned with the surgery it's self. He said to follow up with my Internal Medicine doc for any other gastrointestinal problems, lol. He did give me a few more days of muscle relaxers. But, all the meds are done now, except Colace, and, I don't think I'm going to need them, we'll see. Had started a low carb, mod to high protein (I'm 65), and, mod fat, diet June 1st.. Lost 40 pounds in three months, before the surgery. Joint pain gone. No constipation, less bloating, but, still subject to pain to right side, which was the gall bladder that needed to come out. These attacks I'm having now cause the whole abdomen to hurt, not just the right side, like before. I vomited with the gall bladder attacks, and, that was not fun either. The last one lasted four days, and, that's why I went to the emergency room. Wondering if others have gone through the same thing. I don't want to lose any more weight. Be Blessed!!!

Hello! I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago today. I feel good, slowly getting better. I was told to follow a low fat diet henceforth. Last night i felt a very faint "heart burn or acid indigestion" while preparing to go to bed. It went away and was able to sleep well. Other than that so far so good!

Could you please share what were your early symptoms?
I'm experiencing pain under my right rib cage and nausea.
One more, Did the doctor prescribe any medicine or bile salts after the surgery?
      Thank you.
      God bless..

@@faith8484 Praise Him! Hope you're well! My early symptoms were vomit at times, heartburn, faint pain on my right side (by the rib cage). Lots of nausea after eating or while preparing to go to bed - Also, the pain and vomit would occur at night, i don't why but it was always at night right before going to bed or during. The real pain came years later! anyway, after surgery all the Doctor gave me for pain was Oxy 10milligrams every 6 hours and tylenol. The oxy worked BUT i was allergic to it, it made me itch all over so I stopped. No bile salts were ever prescribed.
I'm 100% better now, occasional heart burn but that's due to any fatty foods I may have had that day.
I appreciate you reaching out🥰 I hope my experience helps you in any way!

I am having this surgery in 2 weeks and I had 3 stones removed from common bile duct already last months. My surgery got delayed by another 2 weeks, so it happened only a week ago. I am home atm, had terrible stabby pain in that gallbladder area yesterday but today I feel fine again. I bought some suppliments with lipase and amylase, that I will be taking with food from now on. From what I gather- anything that has fat in it will make my stomach ballon up. Nobody told me anything in regards to my diet or changes in food intake. Just told me not to lift heavy things and bend and exercise or visit swimming pool/sauna/bath. Bananas are very good food atm. My gallstones came around from rapid weight loss and years of a no fat vegan lifestyle. My doctor did not tell me everthing only what he wanted me to know. I got my blood tested at work so I know whats going on. The doctors are trying to keep you stable not cured. I recommended eating smart, stay away from gard foods, drink ensure, or elevate one a day ir when yiu wake up in middle of night. Eggs, high protein easy to digest. Fish. Beans. Greans, mix cooked spinach into food. I wont say im 100% because my digestion still feels odd or not same but i go to bathroom better then before. Learn to go to bed earlier, sleep is a great healer. Try to limit stress. Good luck.

Interesting, just back from the hospital since yesterday. I got an emergency gall bladder removal surgery. Also they couldn't remove it fully since the gall bladder was too heavy inflammated plus that part was too close to a main vain so it was too dangerous to remove. Anyway, right after surgery I was too hungry and I got a nice meal. Spaghetti Bolognese with grated cheese. Also the doctor said that I can eat anything I want. I do have diarrhea but according my doctors it is fine since my body just have to learn how to deal without gall bladder. ( Netherlands)

I just found out I have 1 large stone in the neck. Can they just remove that without taking the gallbladder out? My friend had her gallbladder out and still has problems! Or could my stone be dissolved with medication? I am waiting to talk to a surgeon about this, but reading about this online makes me nervous.

Even I had mine at the neck of the gall bladder. There is no other way other than going for a surgery. Since it's located at the neck there's a high risk of getting infected to other parts and the surgery might be transferred to open. So do remove it quick!
