What's your favorite Steve Caballero fact?! What skater/brand should we do a video on next? ALSO - Please subscribe to help us make more videos: ruclips.net/user/ShredzShop
I remember that RAD mag issue! 1988, I was 11 and guess what my first proper skateboard was that I got that year…that’s right a Caballero street model.
Even though Steve Cab was born in a so-called Christian family he didn't really become a committed Christian until about 15 years or so. He was actually a Buddhist for most of his adult life and he has openly spoken (you can find it on youtube) about searching for truth and feeling empty on the inside until he found Christ. He goes to church weekly with his wife and kids and talks about his faith on his website. He is an amazing role-model and an example of what a true pro should be!!!
Yeah cab is a super cool dude, he'll even talk with you on Instagram. Seems like a super humble dude who is just happy to share his hobbies and absolute keep ripping!
My hero, something that sounds weird for a 35year old Man to say. Cab has always been an Icon and had some of the most legendary graphics and even more legendary shoe. Always remained humble and generous.
Every other guy that's a pro athlete, millionaire musician w/ mansion, garage full of hot rods and vintage motorcycles would have a fleet of young girls. Cab's being a decent guy just limiting himself to one.
It's weird thinking that 'street skating caught fire in the late '80s/early '90s'. I started skating in '84 while flipping through a surfing magazine my brother grabbed at a trade show and seeing an ad with a picture of someone skating. I'd go to his shop and take off with the locals to skate anything we could find, none of which were ramps of any kind lol. We'd hit parking blocks, twinkie curbs, this gorgeous white 'curb' we called "the White Curb" outside a local police station, stairs... having no idea we were just a blink behind the forefront of revolution. I mean, when Gonz and Natas started hitting rails we were like "ok, like this?" haha. Now I don't give a damn about current skate culture, but it's sure nice to see videos like this that take me back. Now I'ma go skate. Cheers!
In the late 80’s skaters actually wore Air Jordans. There wasn’t much in the way of skate shoes then, maybe Airwalks or Vision Street Wears were out not sure, but when I first got into skating in 1986 it was Converse All Star Chuck Taylor shoes, at some point Nike Air Jordans, & then sometime Airwalks became the first actual skate shoe, followed by Vision Street Wear.
@@ShredzShop i used to love my chucks. With the thin sole you could feel the board under you. They wore out super quick tho, but that wasn't a problem then, because they were $20 at Montgomery Wards.
I remember in the April 1994 issue of TWS. in the gossip column theres a news that Cab turns 30..sounds like a really big deal back then. & us teenagers at the time feels likes its an Old Age lol.. times have change, & og skaters seems to age slower these days. Just my opinion.. great vid Shredz
Haha I definitely agree! Back then 30 seemed like you needed to retire, now there’s guys absolutely ripping in their 30s with no signs of stopping! Thanks for watching! 👊
I honestly wish they'd rerelease the full Cab and let me chop off half if I want to. Dunno what it is about midtop shoes, but I'd rather rock the 90's puffy low style, or the legit highs of the 70's and early 80's.
Question : Why when anyone mentions Powell Peralta videos do they almost always leave out Celebraty Tropical Fish? It`s the best one in my humble opinion...
@@ShredzShop thanks for the reply guys... 2 stand out parts in that vid would be Adam McNatt`s street part and Mike Frazier`s insane vert part...the term "Butter" comes to mind when watching that bit...
@@ShredzShop Yeah...his first part with the Frankie Hill "Ear" model,, I had one in 92 and skated it down to a toothpick, his 180 ollie over the road still makes me jump up and shout ..we used to watch this vid over cornflakes and orange juice on weekends and school holiday mornings as fuel before going out to shred the streets and ramps in the eastern suburbs of Johannesburg back in 92...such a great video!
Yo levi, you look like a mix of Bubbles and bieber, or should I say bunk from Turbo graphics 16, and what happened to 16 things you didn't know about toss Pappas featuring tiny Hawk
It was the first time I heard someone try to spell the "ü" in Münster like a "ü" and not like a "u". Or at least I think so. (german is very hard even germans hate it, trust me on that one)
Year ago I messaged Cab about his faith on Facebook. He replied by sending me his phone number. I never called him but on holidays I'll text him and he always says thanks, who is this?
I always thought Caballero meant “Mexican dude” in Japanese. So he was Japanese? George Peralta seemed like he would have ripped the kids off if not for Stacy. He thinks like a non profit organization. After paying themselves comfortable $500k salaries then it’s all for “The Kids.” “You make a nickel a board on top of you team pay!”

Make a stacy peralta video that would be sick
@@Surtain4MVP I like that idea!
@@ShredzShop what about Lance Mountain?
@@chills_75 Lance is the man! Would be rad to put a vid together on him.
My favorite thing about cab is that even with all that success he will still take his time and respond to as many people on Instagram as he can.
Yeah, he is such a sweet man. Met him a few years ago, and he was so nice to talk to.
Cab is my all-time favorite skater!!
Solid choice! 🤝 🐉
My Fav fact: I met him in Japan! Very cool person, a legend!
No such thing as a bad pair of half cabs . Goat

Steve Caballero was a huge name when I was a kid. His decks were cutting edge shape with dope dragon graphics. Heck ya

There aren't that many pro athletes that I think are worth looking up to. Steve Caballero is on that list.
if they did the ankle as a raw edge like the off white 1's it would be like the cut hitops. used to cut them too.
There needs to be a Steve Cabellero movie.

Keep posting on your Spotify
