      I don't understand why Michael Chandler didn't seem to notice that a man named Conor doesn't exist anymore. Conor doesn't have the same color hair, his skin, and jawline are also noticeably different. And it's unfortunate that Michael Chandler didn't notice. What pisses me off most about Chandler is the fact that he decided to wait. Okay, Conor injured, so do fights in between instead of sitting around? Df are you waiting two years for a fight that isn’t even a title fight when he could had remained active and continue to build his star power. I feel like people would be looking at him the same way as Justin if he stayed active, but instead he waits two years.

    @josephretucci350 8 дней назад

    Good video, but let me push back a little. I like the way you laid out Chandler's path of what he could have been doing in the meantime, but remember that's just a best-case scenario. Dariush, Armen, Gamerot...I'd say those are all winnable for Chandler. They're all loseable, too, though. He loses a couple or maybe even one of those fights, he's a big step back. If he loses to Dariush, for example (which maybe he has an advantage over Dariush, but he could easily lose to him IMO), you can forget all that fighting for the BMF, working up to a LW title shot, fighting Conor in the future. Plus the paydays will probably be less because now he's fighting lower-ranked guys. Three fights also means three chances of injury. Maybe he beats Dariush, but gets busted up and is out for a year or more. Chandler is a special case and he's somewhat able to bounce back from losses because of how exciting and likable he is, but even he has a line somewhere where fans will give up on him.
    I'm not saying it's the best for him to wait for Conor. Obviously, Conor is not trustworthy and there's some risk in working with him at this point. I just wouldn't pretend that it's given that the other path would work out nice for Chandler. He's getting older and there's a lot of things that can go wrong for an aging guy in a tough division like LW.

    But if he did fight since his last appearance and potentially lost, then he fades into irrelevance and makes no money regardless. If he isn’t chasing a belt at this point and is in the later stage of his career then making a ton of money and having relevance is a great thing even if the fight didn’t happen until next year. Having his name attached to Conor’s has probably already made a big difference in the amount of people who know him without the fight even happening yet. I mean we’re all talking about him now just because he’s attached to Conor, if that wasn’t the case he wouldn’t be in the news cycle right now. Not to mention at the end of the rainbow no matter how long it may be he gets a big check for fighting Conor. If Conor never returns he still at the very least gets to keep the boost to his name and he’ll be high profile in his next matchup just from that

    Honestly tough spot for Chandler, on one hand financially it’s pretty hard to pass up a Connor fight period, you’ll get paid good win lose or draw but, if he had kept himself busy it would’ve also been risky if he lost anymore his name value and merit wouldn’t be as big and Connor could just be like “nah you’re on a skid better names out there for me” which now reigns even more true with Max having all the star power in the world after his KO of Justin and probably wanting to get that L back from Connor.

    I understand Chandler’s mindset at first. He’s not good enough to be the champion, so he shouldn’t even attempt at that road, but he could make earn a big payday from his job with the most minimum effort. I mean, all it takes is one fight. But now… I have no idea how much Dana is paying him, but unless it’s millions, he’s making less money then if he would’ve got if he just stayed active. A few fights, and who knows, he could’ve still gotten the Connor fight later on, and make the most bag out of it. This is just sad at this point.

    It's not just the potential millions. CTE and injury must play a factor too right? He's a family man and one last big pay check to beat someone who's arguably beatable makes sense

    No Michael Chandler didnt "waste" shit, Beneil, Arman, Gamrot and Fiziev all are better than Chandler and he would've taken alot of damage fighting them. He was already 36 att, it made much more sense to fight Conor who he wouldve been a favourite against. Beat him and become a star.
    Ofc yes if he would've known Conor is gonna pull this shit before hand then it's better to fight the young killers. But hes not a fortune teller. Conor definitely made more sense att both in money and win probability.

    Chandler was never getting back to the title or beating anyone in the top 5, let alone the top 10. Chandler knows his career is coming to an end and just wants to go out making as much money as possible. If he didn’t wait 2 years he would have more than likely lost again and lose any chance at fight Conor. Waiting for Conor is absolutely the best thing for Chandler

    Conor didn’t wasted chandler 2 years. Chandler is so desperate for the fight it’s pathetic. Not even Faber groveled for the Conor fight. He choose to wait. No one forced him. He’s a grown little man.

    The risk was probably worth it for Chandler. 2-4 million dollars for one fight. His last few fights he could easily get paid millions if he does well or beats Conor. The only reason Nate Diaz retired rich is because he beat Conor. And even dudes who get smoked by Conor are still better off. Like Chad Mendes.

    I think connors injuries have started to catch up to him and sonce he doesnt seemingly stay away from partying and drinking hes doesnt heal his body, hes nit conditionioned for fighting and hes probably not motivated so its not surprising hes not going to fight but theres no denying his comeup was spectacular to watch and unlike anything else just a shame the tailend of his career went so downhill.

    5:35 There is no evidence that the Conor/UFC was trying to bypass the 6 month testing requirement aside from USADA (sort-of) claiming this, which the UFC and Conor denied. Intuitively, the idea that Connor was super committed to fighting in 2023 seems silly. He is clearly not in any rush to fight. If anything, the 6 month requirement is a convenient excuse.

    Chandler isn't gonna make more money fighting Conor. He's under contract and doesn't get PPV points. Mendes and Diaz got paid a lot because it was short notice and there weren't many options. Then when Diaz and Poirier beat Conor they had a lot more leverage and could renegotiate a new better contract with PPV points. Aldo got a paid a lot because he got PPV points as well. Cowboy and Alvarez didn't get paid more to fight Conor. Cowboy didn't have leverage and didn't get PPV points and Alvarez was a new champ and wasn't given a new contract so he didn't get PPV points either
