Former law enforcement officer here. One day we get a welfare check call from a woman who lived out of state. She told us she had not heard from her 90 year old Uncle in over 3 weeks and told us the address. This place was in the boondocks. His mail was taken care of by his niece. We get there and it's the middle of August and it has been over 100 degrees for weeks on end. We knocked on the door and got no answer. We made entry and knew immediately the guy was dead. It was over 120 degrees in the place. There was no air conditioning and there were flies everywhere. What really got you though was the smell. We found the guy in his chair in the living room. He had melted into the chair. There was just a puddle of goo on the chair in the outline of a human. It was covered in maggots and flies. Fun times.
I can handle gross images, but I puked at the smell of a spoiled soup. It was put in the snow and found again after the snow was gone... I couldn't remove the pot. It was worse than tear gas for me... I don't want to find a cadaver like that...

@@BENDYKILLER698 I'm no expert, but AFAIK, what he means typically occurs when the skin remains intact long enough for the internals (starting with the digestive system digest itself) to liquefy. The corpse begins to bloat (not just water-logged corpses) and then pops. In some cases, this can be quite violent (if enough pressure is allowed to build up), but in most cases it's not. Either way, the soup runs out and the skim floats away. The stuff can be quite sticky and like pitch. In some conditions, it can also produce wax.
@@BENDYKILLER698 Sorry. Since you won't sleep anyway, here a funny story: a mother with her child and his friends took a walk through a wood and spotted a rolled up carpet. One of the kids: I bet that there's a corpse inside. The mother denied it, but didn't want them to approach it. They walked back home and the kids were salty that they couldn't investigate the carpet. They thus ran off to return to it. Approaching it, they noticed a foul smell and they didn't want to touch it. Thus, one kid prodded it with a stick and retrieved a scalp! They ran home and the mother still refused to believe them, but they had kept the stick, which was more than convincing. Only then, the police was called! That's something that pisses me off about many people: they see it, they know it, and still don't act accordingly.
