    Nice review! I had an mCPx BL version 1 and it has the most flight time out of any machine I have ever owned. It was a great training heli for my Trex500 doing casual and sloppy 3D, and was easy and cheap to use in terms of battery, crash damage + repairs, and access to space where I could fly it. That is the real reason to own an mCPX -- the ability to take it to any park with a modest about of space, and operate it safely. Anything 200/250 and up, will be less safe for a casual park setting and turn a few too many heads about what kind of machine is around them and if they should be worried if it's heading in their direction. With that being said, this heli really is as finicky as you said and it's a constant work to tune it or adjust it in some way to get it to fly the way you want it and that just ends up eating so much time and energy. If you are fine investing in this, that's ok. But if your intent is to really use better helis, let this one fly a bit sloppy and don't fall into the trap of trying to make it perfect.
    Lastly, the SMART features are cool and if you're squarely in Blade heli land, all of their newer stuff will probably integrate nicely with it. However, as an owner of Nano CPX (x2), Nano S2, mCPX BL, and Trex150x who's done a lot of repairs, adjustments, and some mods, the only SMART feature that matters is the ability to trigger a warning on battery voltage instead of relying on a timer. The other data is just "ok cool, I can see this" and you literally do nothing with it because it's not like you're swapping out your ESC for another option, or configuring a governor to manage the load very differently. Most stuff you should be optimizing on these things by sight, hearing, and flight feel then leave it alone unless you're just so in love you need to make one of these things fly perfectly.

    Hey good to see you did a new review! Glad I pestered you to make some more LOL! I still fly my upgraded MCPX BL and have it dialed-in almost perfect, but I'm tempted to get the BL2 after seeing what it can do w/my ix12 telemetry feature! I have no choice but to be a "micro-guy" the Flight Club in Irvine, CA lost its field, and I only have smallish fields by me, and there's too many people and park rangers at the larger parks, so I really can't fly anything larger than the 300x or 230s.... I'm thinking about getting the 150s and BL2 this fall...

    Nice review! I just purchased one yesterday and should take delivery of it sometime this coming week. I'll be flying it with an iX12 as well until my new iX20 arrives next month. I'm not a 3D flyer, so I plan on slowing down the head speed for nice and smooth, indoor sport flying.

      I'll be honest, even though it's a micro, I do my best not to crash it. Micros are great little helis out the box, but once you ding them up a few times, they're never quite right again, even after repairs.

    For a beginner of CP helis: MCP X BL2, Nano S2 or 230S V2?

    • @The-Fly-Kid
      @The-Fly-Kid  4 года назад +1

      I'd recommend the 230S V2. When you're ready, get the BL2.

      @@mertcapkin7263 DEFINITELY. The 230 is like a butterfly. The BL2 is like a pissed off hornet lol.
      The BL2 can be docile but the 230 is much more stable, forgiving, and easier to fly.
