My mom had a problem with bed bugs. We used a company that came in and used heat to destroy the bed bugs in all stages from egg to adult. They raised the temperature in her house to 130 degrees. It killed everything within 4 hours. No chemicals had to be used.
My family faced the same problem when we moved to a new place. We had to burn and discard every old furniture, mattresses, pillows etc. Heat helps I agree.
It's costs alot too.. A 500 square foot room is 4k-6$ USD to cure with heat treatments. Each time . I have seen 15k to treat a home with 2 treatments.. Some cities. Like any electrical item you own. Any soft toy or furniture. Even the plug socket holes are their caves. I saw YT buy faulty games consoles off ebay and fix them. So many times these consoles have bugs litering their chips and such. Roaches and bed bugs. They know when you sleeping too. Like a theif in the night they single file they azz up and over to you. Then step back into their shadows totally invisible until there's 1000s of them. Then you'll notice signs 😅
Those insects are the most nuisance tiny creatures that ever existed on earth. I remember having to deal with them for months. The battle with them is exhausting
Imagine years 😢 there's a product you can get called diamatheus earth. Home Depot and Lowe's sell it. You can get a big bad for about $20 bucks. It kills them slow. Otherwise they just keep coming back. I dealt with 7 years. I live in an apartment. Couldn't afford to move so I reported it to landlord. Whole building infested when I moved in. Since, using diamatheus earth, I have no more. 🎉
Same. Lucky I had a bed with legs at the time and I could put a saucer of bleach under each leg as a barrier. I also steamed my mattress to make sure. Eventually they went but I always thought... if they are clever, they could climb the wall hover over me from the ceiling and just drop. Now I have a gas lift bed frame which has tonnes of junk stored under it. If I get them again I'll have to move out.
I had bed bugs last year. It was horrible. I will not travel now. I will not go to movie theaters. I will not live in an apartment building with other people, either. I want to buy my own house so badly, but the prices are out of reach. For now, I'll stay at this little cottage until I can afford my own house.
I had ‘em and lived in a poorly sealed, renovated house, got mice (constantly), cockroaches (twice) and bedbugs (once). I now live in a detached house, and don’t have to worry about what the neighbours do internally!
Unless you have a house built you are risking bed bugs buying a house too. A lot of people sell their houses because they are infested with bed bugs. I've read about it many times
If this doesn't add to your restrictions, what if you buy your own beautiful, clean home and invite overnight guests and they unknowingly bring bedbugs with them?
I do think restricting yourself so much is crazy! My mum died from COVID, I kept up any mandates, and vaccines, but I want to enjoy my life. I am going to Boston this week, so will check my hotel room, and keep my personal belongings away from the bed/soft furnishings, etc. Hopefully, I won’t bring any back home!
It's not. Use proper chemistry like permitrine and cypermetrine. In my country we have Alfasekt Plus and Aspermet. The guy who came to do a disinsection mixed both and sprayed the entire flat, walls, floors beds, clothes, adult bugs were dead after 2-3 days and he came after 3 weeks to repeat the procedure (1st spraying kills the adult bugs the 2nd kills the young from recent eggs. Hope you understand) everything was killed with 2 attempts. If someone wants then they can spray 3x Times after another 3 weeks. (After spraying do not wash floors)
It's interesting that France just banned Muslim women from covering there body and a week later the authority encourages everyone to cover body to protect from bedbug. How interesting? 🤣
Every time I rent an Airbnb, motel/hotel, whether it's a 1 star or 5 star, I check over the mattresses thoroughly with a flashlight. I look under the mattress, under the seams, mattress pads, and dark edges. Pretty much everywhere around the bed(s). So far I've not came across them during my travels, but this is a good habit to start. Definitely, check those areas listed before you unpack.
altonsteel - you can see their trail with a flashlight. They’re in the corners and seams of the mattress and leave black feces made of dried human blood where they are. If there are bedbugs around, there will be tiny black dots everywhere along with little blood stains visible to the human eye.
I've had to deal with bed bugs in our own home in the US, we used a mixture of lavender oils/spray and diatomaceous earth and within a months time we got rid of them. Best advice is to always spray and fill cracks and check under carpets along with lining tight crevices with the scents and oils. Baby powder and peppermint is also good to use to repel them.
That's awful. I'm a truck driver and got an infestation a few years ago. I was lucky that I had no reaction to their bites. They were getting into the cracks between panels in the sleeper bunk. I was lucky that I found an experienced exterminator when I went home. He tried the heat treatment first but some of them survived. So he used a spray over the areas where they would come out. The spray was very toxic to them but not to humans. And it was supposed to last six months so any bed bugs passing over those sprayed spots would die. And that worked. I have been bug free for years but still jump at every piece of lint or crumb I see and need to inspect to be sure it's not a bug or shed exoskeleton.
Diatomaceous Earth works really well too! It's a powder that gets in their joints and jaws and basically tortures them to death. I used it back in 2018 and haven't seen a bedbug since. Sprinkle it in corners, cracks, and seams of your bedframe and mattress. Also where the parts of the bed that touch the ground (like a little moat of powder). Good riddance, too!

There has been a problem for some time folks. I had a friend who flew there 5 years ago stayed in a hotel completely redone, and she was devoured had a horrible histamine reaction to so many bite's. This was a 4 star hotel folk's and they checked out in the morning she showed them some of the bite's the hotel staff laughed at her. This was a senior citizen, and I could not believe how many bite's she had. She was sick for over a week after flying home after 1 day and night in Paris. She threw away everything she had with her on the trip including the suitcase, I met her at airport with giant trash bags and some of her clothes from home. We bundled everything in plastic and put in the dumpster. France is so beautiful and wonderful in many ways but you don't want to mess with bedbugs and I fear it's actually an epidemic from being ignored for so long.

This is not the light-hearted situation the media is making it out to be. People should not be allowed to travel to the US from France without some type of fumigation or quarantine if they are allowed in at all. This would certainly be the reaction if the outbreak country were outside Europe, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
Agree, and I wish they did that. But, the days of responsible quarantine by nations are long gone, especially in the West. Illegals n migrants are passing through Europe like these bed bugs are. We in the US now are no different. Anyone comes in through our open border, while our government has complete disregard to possible diseases, bedbugs, or anything coming in that should be a concern to the public.
New York is full of bed bugs. Lots of people living in tight apartments. I know for a fact they have them because I lived close to new York in Jersey and they have them and it's the same scenario lots of immigrants and overcrowding.

There is a serious concern in the industry I work. I have to be discreet in what I can say but we have reason to believe these bedbugs were intentionally planted in Paris, and that they have been genetically modified to serve as hosts of an as-of-yet unidentified viral disease that is transmissible to humans and animals alike. The goal it seems was to cause an infestation in Paris that would evolve into a superspreader event when the Olympics arrive there in 2024. The problem with bedbugs is you just can’t prepare for them. They can travel, are hard to notice until it’s too late, and are extremely hard to eradicate. Please be mindful. I have no advice on how to be safe as we just don’t know who is behind it and what virus they might be carrying, just be aware.
I am not French but I do believe that your opinion have validity. Me too thiink this has something to do with olympic. This bug could be a carrier for next viral disease or to spread fear mongering, making people think they were infected by a virus when it probably allergic reactions from bed bugs. Our neighbouring country, Singapore had recently, released hundred thousands of mosquitoes, each carry a type of bacteria that according to their minister, will help to reduce dengue mosquitoes in Singapore. However, according to past experiment report, the strategy did not work and more of a failure. So why do they release more of these to environment even after failure?. I am just afraid that these mosquitoes will reach our shore and create new viral disease cause by mosquitoes.

I had them in just my room and I laid down so much Home Defense that they would have to cross 3 lines to escape. About a month in and gone.
They carry guns and are very organized.
@@ge2623I could tell.. The presenters sound so serious. It was exhausting just listening to her.
@@ThisIsTheMajor Bless you and your kin, ever and all.
Bedbugs are absolutely horrible, trying to rid of them is extremely hard.
It's easy. Just throw out a bed and clothes buy all new stuff
It's interesting that France just banned Muslim women from covering there body and a week later the authority encourages everyone to cover body to protect from bedbug. How interesting? 🤣
Actually, you can get rid of them with rubbing alcohol 80 proff or higher
Super easy bro. Just burn your house down. Let's gooo!
Its all about the third world invasion. London and Paris anr every US big city the same. ALlow thethird world in..you get third world problems.
Absolutely. I do the same. You don't want to take those home with you.
I do exactly the same. No way I’m taking any chances. Nope.
You need to use a blacklight not a flashlight.
altonsteel - you can see their trail with a flashlight.

LOL.
oils dont work. it's only the diatomaceous earth
The baby powder is a great idea. They get the powder on them and dehydrate and die.

@@roboteenwhat? Not at all. Diatomaceous earth is a fantastic natural remedy for insects, and the other things mentioned help repel them.
Once l got them l just kept up the checking for years but 7 years free now and it was only 6 l found nothing like this though
My god that's horrible, I've never had a problem with bed bugs before but I can imagine how nerve wrecking it is to have to check everything

@@NastyAngel still no. I have lived with them for like 3-4 years😂 Worst years of my life
They have been a problem in Paris as well as NYC for a very long time. We stayed at a very nice hotel in Paris 12 years ago and I had many bites all over.

It's not just Paris. I often travel to conventions in my country in EU and a week ago or so there were bedbugs ruining my whole trip. The response was that multiple floors of that place had already closed down because of this (and that I "probably brought them in my luggage"). Exterminator companies also told media they've been very busy. tourism + heat = infestations.
just wonderful.
That’s why they are such an issue. No one will take responsibility and get right on the situation. I am currently going throught it myself. They are in the building and management has been extremely laxidaisy about the whole thing. They will invest the entire building before it’s iver. I have been fed them to take it more seriously but being a low income apartment building no one in management gives af.
@@DebbiePotter-xh7kv lax is right. Unfortunately I faced this kind of attitude from staff towards my complaint and I haven't got my money back to this day. Places only care about money, or only care when authorities crack down on safety/hygiene violations. Which will likely not happen because "it's not a real health concern".
Sorry you have to go through this as well.
@DebbiePotter-xh7kv No, actually it's because the bedbugs have evolved and can now withstand most insecticides, even uegena oil.

they should keep chickens around, or whatever creatures that find bedbugs tasty
Spiders. :) you get to sleep with spiders now!
Yes I can see it now......chickens overrunning Paris whilst pecking away the bedbug population 😂😂😂😂

What is there in paris that we don't have every so often, Neighbors
That thumbnail is freaky lol
bedbugs can be anywhere - 1 star or 5 star, 1st world or 3rd world. If you travel, you really need to get into the habit of checking the mattresses and furniture of the hotel, airbnb or whereever you happen to stay.
Yup I stayed in a hotel in Vancouver that had bed bugs! I found it crawling in the middle of the night on my side of the bed when I woke up to pee and informed the front desk and changed rooms to a different floor. But the hotel didn’t do anything. They didn’t call anyone to treat the room.

Ok who brought the bed bugs?
The migrants
@@greaterethiopia398 Is there literally nothing you stupid racists won't blame immigrants for?
You under the impression that Paris, France was some kind of sparkling paradise of cleanliness until recently...? That the stereotype of the filthy Frenchman isn't a thing...?
Get real.
Airplanes from SE Asia
Muslim immigrants mostly.
Why are they not cleaning the trains regularly then? Blaming people won’t help because meanwhile the bugs are spreading. A lot of travelers come through Paris. Could have come from anywhere..the American lady in the interview has them in her house. Where did she get them?
Thank the Chinese. US, Canada and Europe had eliminated bedbugs around the 1950s but in the 2000s Chinese tourism started to spread them worldwide again. These are the same people you see in videos destroying monuments, raiding buffets and generally being a nuisance.
Oui!
I am not surprised in the least about this. I have lead tours around Europe for many years and to be honest Paris is the top when it comes to nasty public restrooms and hotels. Let's see how Parisians deal with this before the Olympics. Who knows, maybe as a result of this infestation, we can have a new Olympic event called bedbug fleeing.
You are absolutely right. Let's close France and not allow any foreigners in. Especially American tourists. It would be so peaceful! The English too, who love to retire in Southern France. And all the immigrants. Ever been to New York or Toronto? Montreal, Washington, philadelphia, Detroit .... No? You would have met some native bedbugs. And cockroaches too. No need to go to Paris for that. And let's boycott the Olympics too. Remember who reinstated them? No? Baron Pierre De Coubertin. So stay where you are guys. You won't be missed. Oh and why not go to Arizona? Those bugs love to travel, don't they?

How can anyone live in that house with 1000s of bedbugs they showed?
Europeans traditionally are nasty people and just look at the so called kings during the medieval period. One of the kings was so filthy and never took off his socks to bath which resulted in one of his toes falling off.🤮🤮🤮🤮
Ikr. 2 will cause some major problems. They will chew you to death! No way a family can live with that many. All they do is crawl n bite. You would never be able to sleep or enjoy a meal without being chewed on
That house was in Arizona, according to the report.
Parisians and PARISites.
use garlic
Paris seems so sleezy, this doesn't seem surprising.
That's the most disgusting news I've seen in a while. I say fumigation the entire city
The people will continue living nasty which will bring about another infestation so fumigation is just a temporary fix.
In the old days a common way to get rid of bedbugs was to fumigate the place with cyanide gas. But that method was outlawed in the 60s.
This is what happens when you take a people who were native and proud to be French, and inject about 10 million people from 3rd world countries who don't give a crap about French language or culture, who bring their own culture and never bother learning how to be French.. Paris went from a clean and frankly awesome place to a pile of crap, and you can thank far left idiots who want endless migration of Sub Sahara Africans, and Middle-East people, in which none of them speak French. It's sad. France as you knew it is dead.
What about nukes?

Bedbugs feast on blood, not on filth.
I am 83 years old swedish women with difficult heart problems and have probobly got bed bugs from an inhabitent. The sanitet company said it was not dangerous but my heart problems were worse, My leg is stiff and my arms full of infected wounds. I try to follow the instructions but the bugs is still there after 6 month. I try to move into a house with elderly where there is new furnitures- But it is very hard to get a place there. It is a long que. Or I have to stay in my apartment and in the end die from the situation because there seems impossible to get rid of the creature. A total renovetion cost a lot of money I dont have.
Please buy some Diatomaceous Earth! My dad told me about it back in 2018 when I had bed bugs and it will get rid of them for good! It's only about 10 to 20 dollars here in the USA. Wherever the bed bugs are, just sprinkle the powder, like in the cracks, seams and corners of your bedframe and mattress. You should also sprinkle _under_ the bed too, where the bed touches the ground. To be extra thorough, pour some in other areas too like windowsills and couches. _Wherever_ they are in your house, pour some diatomaceous earth around it. It gets in their joints and mandibles and kills them. I hope it works for you!
I feel itchy just by watching 😢
Guess what kills bed bugs?? A hair dryer on high

Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth....
*_Diatomaceous Earth_* is a relatively cheap powder that will completely eradicate them! Just dust the corners, creases and cracks of your bed, couches and such and they will ALL die. I had bed bugs back in 2018 and after I used diatomaceous earth, they have _never_ come back.
We had eliminated our bed bug problem here in the US. DDT got rid of them. Then we banned DDT and allowed them back in.
The "immigrants" brought them back!
Nasty 🤢
@@hawaandroid2786This could be true. What comes to mind is Lyme disease + ticks.

That's what I am thinking! Knowing that they have the Olympics next year and that France claimed that they want to turn independent from the US, tried to take part in the BRICS summit, and there was a big scandal about everything... it's almost as if they're trying to drown the current French government
