You should change the nozzle to a full flow with no restrictions for the best CAFS application. Let the bubbles do the work and they will absorb the carcinogens out of the smoke as they extinguish the flames.
Keep in mind that all foam is bubbles that are 99+ percent WATER. Even the dry setting is still water with more air in each bubble. Water will not burn.
What a crazy question, but yes I suppose you could use sand as the fire smothering product, after all it was used by the cavemen. Why not use gasoline to change the oxygen into CO2 to extinguish the fire. But don't try that, I already have. There are better ways like using a good CAFS.

Would it be possible to use sand as the carrier of the foam instead of water ? Both agents would smother by removing the oxygen....
