- "200 nautical miles, fast and uncomfortable... you ready for this?" Kai and John come up with an idea to foil across the Kaua'i Channel on John's 18' cat. But first they gotta get Kai trained up on the boat, and figure out if it's even possible. It's a multi day mission, pushing their limits, and culminating in a launch from John's front door on the North Shore of Oahu, to Hanalei Bay, Kauai. And back... maybe.

It's refreshing that John does things his own way while providing content. Even the way he titles his videos is his own way instead of copying a format.
I don't usually use the word "epic", but this was truly epic on so many levels! How the hell is Erik getting some of those shots, like the one near beginning with sun shining through sails, from underneath?! He's a wizard. And I love this combination of John and Kai, hope they do more together. They are a really good fit for collaborating. Favorite line " did we tighten that one?" As they sail out 😅

Yeah I got old and started sailing and it's kinda a similar feel. Being at one with the boat and the wind and when it just picks up and goes it's a great feeling. I think it's just being at one with nature and working with something you can't control. Great vid.
This is just great! Love this boat and have really enjoyed John's Vela series as well. Great to see all you down to earth young blokes on Hawaii enjoying life as much as you can and doing so well.

Kai- A Go Pro would really bring ‘Pursuing Balance Through Adventure’ to a whole new level regarding, getting others to get off the couch and enjoy nature: backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and sailing, in other words ‘Pursuing Balance Through Adventure’. Don’t we all need a little balance in our crazy lives? Love the Foiling! When the Nacra Carbon Full Foiling Catamaran first came to California I got to join a group where everyone was a least a National Champion, and spend the day. So frick’n cool!

John John come to New Zealand for the America Cup and you will see us Kiwi's fly on our foil yachts. I am lucky to see Team NZ boats out on the water most days and its sight to be seen 75 ft foiling monohulls. Kiwi's pioneering some of the best innovative technologies ... who else would bring pedal power to a yacht race!

Awesome to see you guys sailing. Wish you guys would have worn PFDs. I see this important piece of equipment missing a lot in watermen's offshore adventures.
T King there’s a lot of buoyancy in full wetsuits.
@@scnomad3626 what's the standard bouyance in a full suit? Doing 20kts foiling, a type approved lifejacket is the logical safety precaution for World Sailing .

@@JJF I have these WonderBoom speakers. Epic sound, pair able, waterproof and about the size of a can of lacroix. I clip one to each trap wire on my Hobie 18, pair up and get the led out.
