As an E3 you made $716 ish a check and then got BAH & BAS because you were an E3? or because your ops school was full and you waited on the list long enough? a little confused
The dorms at my first duty station were full!
Brittany Willis ok got it, thank you again
I was an E-3 in 1980 my pay was $636.90 a month.............
Question! You got a housing allowance to live off base without being married?? Im interested in joining but not looking forward to being older and living in dorms...i thought you had to be married to afford to live off base
Update ?? Do u know because I’m wondering too
Congratulations on paying off your loans. I too wish to be there someday. I enlisted at 27 in the army. Are you getting promoted soon? In the army you go in as an E4 with a bachelors degree. Anyways, good for you getting to live off post as an E3.
In the Airforce its 28 months time in grade or 36 Months time in service whichever comes first to get E4
When you enlisted did you have to provide your transcripts? I’m looking to enlist in a branch this year
As a single airman, how long would I have to wait to be able to move off base once I get to my first duty station?
It depends on how full the dorms are at your first duty station. I got lucky! Usually you’re in the dorms until you’re a senior airman, or E-4.
Brittany Willis thanks for the info!
Does being older help with starting off as a higher rank ? I don’t have college , didn’t do jrotc in high school either but I was wondering about age
No help whatsoever, older as in 32+ all you will get is the drill sergeants calling you old fuck lol.
@@Grimzy- Sounds like most drill sergeants are young then
@@xxsilver_gamingxx389 nah bro it’s the fact that when u go in with some age they automatically call u old. They could be 34 themselves but they been in since they was in they’re 20s it’s a difference lol
@@Grimzy- Definitely true
@@Grimzy- I plan on joining the Air Force after high school and making it a career, doesn’t sound like a bad idea
Can you explain how soon you're able to move out the dorms... I was told that if you don't have any dependents you could move out as an E-5
I moved out as an E-3. I was stationed at an Army base and the Air Force dorms were full.
When I search on Google how much does military gets paid E3 in the end if the month it says 1900 but is that true how do you get 4K in a month
Please explain it to my🖤
If you had your bachelor's degree, why did you go in enlisted instead of an officer?

Do you know if the air force goes to the field or have field training exercises?
Depends on your job man
What job did you pick? And do you plan on staying in 20 years?
1N0! I'm not sure :)
Hey, Thanks for the video. I have one question, I have 150 credits out of 165 approved of my Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, I’m planning to join the Air Force as active duty. How long does it take for someone to go up in the ranks?
Is it possible to get bah as a single soldier ?..
Yes
Where did you live in mo? I use to live in poplar bluff Mo.
I live 20 miles from Poplar Bluff.
how much credit card debt were you in before joining? Im scared I will get denied because of my credit card debt.
Mine was mainly student loans, but my recruiter told me the amount didn’t matter. It just mattered if everything was being paid on time and nothing sent to collections. :)
@@Brittanylynnlewis okay thank you thats a big relief. Im supposed to leave June 8th for space force and I was scared my debt would cancel my eligibility.
Great video!
How were you able to live off base?
I was stationed at an army base and the Air Force dorms were full.
360 for a month for food... where r we in venezuela??
Hahahahahahahahahahaha that’s funny
Hey! Where was your first base at that you only had to stay in the dorms for 30 days?
Ft Meade!
Brittany Willis thank you! I’m in DEP right now and hoping that I won’t have to stay in the dorms too long at my first duty station considering I’m 26 and have owned my own house since I was 22
Are you still in the military as of now if so what rank since this video posting? Thanks for your service from a civ!
I separated in July!
I'm 31 years old, going in as an officer..
Curious, why did you not join as officer?
Do AirForce reservist receive BAS and housing allowance and are we qualified before or after BMT?
BAH and BAS are active duty benefits.
What's your retirement going to be like when you get out??
It's not about the money. Also the average soilder does not look like a supermodel.
How are you an e3 with a bachelor's
I went to college then enlisted
@Brittanylynnlewis you should go officer route with an associate you start of with E-3 I thought with a bachelor's it would be a higher rank?
so do you get BAH as an E3 or you have to be E5?
I started receiving BAH as an E-3.
@@Brittanylynnlewisare you married??
Yes but I wasn’t when I first started receiving housing allowance
So how much was it after deductions and taxes ?
Do u know much you get paid as a E-3 reserve? And if they provide assistance with housing as a Reserve in the Air Force?
You only get BAH in the reserves when on active duty. During your 2 week annual training you get BAH type 2. During deployments you get BAH type 1 based on your zip code.
Giselle is a dependent.
Lmaooo
What is your job title? When will your next raise be?
Thanks for the video! :) I think you look gorgeous, by the way... ;)
How many years did it take to receive BAH?
WOW thats less than the Australian army.
It sucks that they don’t make much money. I make more money because I live in LA. They should start giving people money based on what cities they were born
Can you live off base if you have a kid and wife? :)
Yes
we’re you able to live off base as an E3 with BAH because you are married?
I wasn’t married when I was able to live off base as an E-3. I was stationed at an Army base and the AF dorms were full.
Was you in the reserve,?
I’m active duty
Damn you married🤤 I wish you all the best 🙏
How much did you have in student loans and were you able to get the interest rate lowered? I’m about to enlist with a degree and 25k in loans. Thank you for the information!
I don’t remember the total now but I never looked into getting the interest rate lowered!
The military can lower interest down to 6%
Were u reserve or active?
I’m active
Is the airforce scary?
No where is “scary”. It’s how bad you want it really and how soft you are, and if you can handle someone yelling at u
NO! you will Not make any money off your BAH. no matter where you live in the whole world its always going to be less than your rent. yes the higher rank you are the more you get , but onlys few dollers. dosent mean you cant find cheaper rent but that could be in poorer areas. good job nB.W.
Did the Air Force help you pay off credit card debt?
I used my income from the AF to pay off debt but no they didn’t directly pay it
If you have a College Degree. Why are you an enlisted? The only way to go in the Military is Officer.
A college degree is only one part of it, and its not for everyone.
@@22s22a Bullshit. I was in the Air Force. Going enlisted when you can be an Officer is just stupidity. For so many reasons.
@@badgumby9544 I disagree and many others would as well..I have my bachelor's And I'm enlisted... And working on my masters. The AF it's not a career for me, merely a stepping stone. I have talked to officers and seen what they do for my career field, It's not worth it to me. You're just thinking monetarily...just because you have a degree you think they wave a magic wand and that's it You're an officer? Doesn't work like that my friend.
Congrats on paying off your loans!!!!!!!
Wasn’t a law passed to forgive student loans for military?
Sooooo... Military pays your rent and bills? After serving 4 years ?? SOunds like some BS.
If you are in college
Not always true, you could be in for more then 4 years and still live in the barracks. Well I guess yes rent will be paid for then. Barracks is free living.
That good money if work 8 hours a day 5 days a week she will be whining once the 16 hour work days start
What's your ig?
How did you qualify for BAH?
@brittanylynnlewis
Hey Brittany! Thank you for the video.
When I look up E3 in the Army, it shows $2,160 for < 2 years in.
How come the difference? Is it branch related? After taxes?
Congress regularly approves a slight increase in salary in order to compensate for inflation. She joined a few years ago, so it was a bit lower then.
LMAO, I was promoted to E3 in 1979, I believe I earned like $650.00 per month 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
