Hey I've seen that line somewhere before :-) You are making paper piecing (or foundation piecing) so much easier for us as we don't have to tear up the paper and we will get the excellent results that paper piecing gives without TEARING the paper and some stitches. Barbara Starr In the video I was making a block from the Dear Jane book. There are many paper piecing books available however, some are fairly easy and some are quite a bit more complicated. Some regular patterns can be adapted to paper piecing also. Try searching paper piecing books on Amazon and see what comes up and appeals to you!
I'm tempted to give this method a try. I'm a total novice at quilting, patchwork, applique etc but a great dressmaker. Your tutorial gives me the confidence to give it a go. However, in your video you say that some patterns don't have numbers on and that you have to do it yourself. If it's not a stupid question, how do you know what order to work in? Thanks
Dorien Reed It's not a stupid question at all. I wish I could show you though, I may need to make another video! Sometimes you have to just study the pattern and see what has to be sewn to what before it can be sewn to something else. Sometimes I start to number the sections then realize it won't work and have to go back and re-do. It's good to get them all numbered though before you start sewing, for sure, so you can picture how it's going to work. I will try to put together a video to demonstrate!
I like your tutorial but he camera work was not good. Wish I could have seen where you were trimming, stitching etc. Some of the time you would show us what you finished & it was out of camera viewing.

By ironing the freezer paper to the fabric, it stays in place and serves as a guide without sewing through the paper, which then makes it MUCH easier to remove the paper after your are finished :)

What size needle are you using? I am giving this method a try!
I just use an 80/12 or 90/14 in the machine!
