Great content man! Just wondering if you still have the H6D-100c, would you be able to do a side to side comparison with the X2D for portraits? I'm not sure if you have the normal XH adapter so you could use one lens for the test but I just wanna know if there's still an advantage with the bigger sensor of the H6D in terms of depth of field to achieve that so called "Medium Format" look. I would also be quite interested to see if the 0,8 XH speed boster adapter would help the X2D's smaller sensor to achieve the look of the Full-Medium Format sensor of the H6D if there is still a noticeable difference. It would be nice to see a shot from the same distance and an "adjusted" framing to match the difference in focal length conversion. Looking forward to seeing the results if ever you're able to do one.
Do you see hot pixels when you use magnified live view? I see quite a few on mine (probably around 50-100) even in not very dark environments. Also, when I take a photo even with ISO64 and short exposure (1/10s or faster) I can see them when viewing in gallery but only when you double tap to go 100% and before the full resolution image is loaded - after that they are gone. Phocus also removes them. So it doesn’t seem to affect the final images, but it is distracting when focusing. Looking at long exposures on my 9 year old Nikon I see only two hot pixels across 24Mp sensor (if I don’t use any hot pixel corrections) 🤔
Great vid, again. And you are raising my lust and impatience for the delivery of mine. I was going to ask about which is the best editor but it seems Phocus is the way to go so that is solved. We'll see if I have to upgrade my memory. I have a strip I can put in so that will be easy. Thanks again for a through, knowledgeable and informative video.
Yes - Phocus deals with hot pixels and other topics automatically, its Hasselblad software for a Hasselblad camera so the best choice for post-processing.
Hi Mathew, Thanks for you great videos on the X2D, Do you know if its possible to extend the exposure time from 1hr 8min? I'm trying take night images with the moon tracking but would love another 60min...
Thanks, as ever, for the insights into these high end cameras. Can you review the new lenses asap ? There is nothing out there and a comparison of the 80mm XCD with the new 90 mm would be instructive. Do the new lenses produce pleasing bokeh with rounded highlight balls or are we getting hexagons in the eventual image ? Surprisingly, there is nothing out there on the lenses.
I have just purchased an X2D 100C (arrived today) and I have about 15 hot pixels, is this normal/acceptable or should I be concerned? I would appreciate your advice.
Can you do a video to show the manual focus of the new lenses? Like is there hard stop, how accurate it is, is there any lag, is it smooth, does it adapt to your turning speed and so on. Do you think they able to fit a focal plane mechanical shutter in the next iteration of camera body so you will have best of both world of focal plane shutter and leaf shutter?
