Heavily modded NB owner here I daily mine and I love it every time I get in it. Best decision of my life. I will dump 20 k more into it and not think twice. Never compromise what u love
The 1.8L is ultimately better than the 1.6L to be real. The layout of the cars block and drive train was set up with a better design as to the generations with the 1.6L.
Just bought a 97 m edition with 86k miles for 5,200. Slight rocker rust but other than that nothing needed besides tires. They are great cars and can still be found somewhat reasonably if you have patience.
From watching Miata prices look they are softening a bit as used NDs push down prices. I think we ll see another opportunity to buy they at a good price right before or possibly right after the NE gets released if it’s good as people sell their Miatas to upgrade to a newer version.
The 1.6 is easier to turbo. The 1.8 is better overall. The block is identical but physically bigger. Upscaled 1.6 not bored. The only difference is the block has deleted the oil and water feed ports for the 323 gtx turbo setup
I want to get a miata na but i don't know how much reliable it'll be considering it's 30 years old and parts may break overtime. Not sure if those parts would be available unless bought online. I've browsed online thru dealerships just to shop around but can't trust if they're good
the cars themselves are actually quite realiable, but you just need to watch out for corroded parts and rust. That will be your biggest issue with theses cars. Ive learned this the hard way.
@DominoCaesar c5 corvette, e36 m3, bmw 335i, 06-13 Miata, 350z, 370z, g37, frs/brz etc. All better more powerful cars. This is coming from the owner of a 91 miata
If your shocks are original then they are shot. Also the bushings might be gone too. That would make the car ride terrible mine did. I put in some Koni SA shocks. Much smoother ride and better handling.

Screaming deal. Which color did you get?
@@barneyfromblueshift The 97m all come in marina green mica with tan interior.
From how loose the shifter looks it prob needs a rebuild. $100 and a 1 hour to do it it will make the driving experience much better.
Thinking of getting one would love the na for the pop up but its coming closer in price to a 2016 nd wich is also a cool and just a much newer car
I bought my 96 with stock suspension in 2023 and the suspension was absolutely shot, you should definitely replace

If it’s stock suspension and you thinks it’s rough you may need new struts
absolutely, a na miata is not a rough ride. big ahh tires sidewall and actually pretty big suspension travel
I bought my 96 for 2500, gee

Thats a lot of money what the heck, its definitely a cool car the miata has always been very cute, but 9,000 can get you a lot of car....
Unfortunately 9k can’t really get you a lot of car anymore, especially for a fun car.
@@Crazy_Cane not true at all. many cars in the 9-10k range are far better than a na miata
@@martinvalencia6141 name one that is comparable to the na in terms of weight, driving dynamics, fun and pop up headlights

Can't the comfort issue be fixed with aftermarket suspensions?

Whoever says 1.6 is better, it's because they can't afford a 1.8...That's a matter of fact
