    Met Kenny Irwin Jr a couple years before his passing. Great guy. Grundy county fairgrounds, Morris, IL.

    the winner got an irl test. funny, because the only usac driver to really be a success in the irl is tony stewart. the rest either struggled or ran only a few races. nascar would have been a better idea..

      oh not in the old days actually this was indy league when the dirt and pavement were both part of the champ car trail before 1974 when they split the divisions, and guys that ran in the era when you could find roadsters raced these were dirt indy cars but your problably old enough to have seen and know that for sure, the crowns are decendants of the cigar nose roadsters only they are flatnose now but still have the long profile of one from the side at least if you ask me in 2023
      though I see now these are sprint cars so its a moot point as i thought this was silvercrown racing though many still did midget and sprint racing as well like aj foyt tom snava and tom bigalow, as well as of course mario andretti
