I’d argue that the Q8 is another “Coupe”-SUV that looks passable. As far as I know it’s even based on the same platform as the Cayenne
Aren’t the Q8 (or rather the RS Q8) and Urus same platform?
I think it's on the same platform as the Q7, not the cayenne

Audi called q8 "suv-coupe", but I don't really think that the Q8 is a suv-coupe. it's just a traditional crossover with slightly lower pillars. It's not fair to compare q8 with x6 and gle coupe because they have a more unusual design. Audi was just afraid to make a controversial design like x6 or gle

MK1 Panamera looks like a stupid fish.
996.1 and 2 were universally hated for adopting the Boxster fried egg lights
The Boxster is a good car, but it was a soft effort
Same with the early Cayman / roof / rear line etc
Then they clearly changed designers....

Decent. I'd never say that Porsches were anything spectacular across the board. Mostly because it's old now it's really been done enough, and it's really nothing new anymore. The classics and the most revolutionary changes is where I nod to Porsche most.
@Tanmay Jamwal yes, first gen panamera was ugly, but i think the new 911 looks as good as a modern 991 could considering current trends. And the targa version looks amaaazing
The damn Germans and the word coupe. They'll just slap that word onto anything with reckless abandon. I'm waiting for BMW to release a new S1000RR sedan, makes about as much sense as anything lately.

The trend started with the Mercedes CLS 4-door Coupe. And it was called that because it had a low roof-line like a Coupe, but it had 4-doors. At first I thought the name was idiotic (because a 4-door car was a sedan), but when I saw that Mercedes I was blown away. I became a hardcore fan of that genre instantly.

When SUV’s can be called coupés I suppose I can refer to my grandfather’s Dacia Duster as a supercharged 4x4 off-road station wagon

From day one the Porsche cayenne has always been my favourite SUV followed by the Range Rover LWB. And now that the cayenne comes with this coupe design it looks 100 times better.

I remember when the ZDX came out I saw one at a car show and getting in the back discovered that at 6'0" I was about 4" too tall to sit in it. The Cayenne coupe has the same headroom as the normal cayenne because they mount the seats lower.
You should try to redesign the lotus Elise/exige into a front engine

Biggest reason why suv's are so popular even though people spend 97.8% on tarmac is because the roads are in such bad condition nowadays with pot-holes, debris, trash, dirt, rocks etc.. that an suv that sits higher off the ground and off-road ability helps with comfort and the suspension doesn't take as much of a beating over time which results in less maintenance problems. The extra space inside with modern suv's now getting better gas mileage is extra icing on the cake.
And the coupe versions of SUV's really didn't go well with social media when they first came out because it just seems counter intuitive to want a coupe but it still suppose to be an suv. This is an item that consumers dont understand they want or would enjoy until consumers have it for some time where a product has to build a reputation of being valued. And over time consumers have shown that suv coupe's are desired by consumers that are in the luxury demographic. Because if you pay so much money for a vehicle, why would you want a regular type of suv.. especially from the sports car segment where a coupe offers the sports car feel but with the suv size and capabilities.
Nowadays some suv's and especially the suv coupes are just as fast as popular sports cars too. For example the aMG c63s coupe and bmw x4m competition can do 0-60 as fast or faster than a C7 stingray corvette.
In conclusion suv coupes now with the addition of the urus, q8, and cayenne gts coupe, are here to stay and have established themselves as desirable to consumers.. the debate on whether suv coupes are dumb/relevant/desirable is getting old..

This cayenne coupe gts is mad, the shape and size is perfect for uk road. It looks smaller than it predecessor. Love it.
Nice video .... please do a ranking of the best car designs in each segment ... maybe a multiple videos.
Porsche also cheats the roof line by painting the C-pillar and rear spoiler black to match the roof and rear window. This makes the shape look more “coupe-like” than it actually is.
Please redesign the MINI coupe, I think it was a great idea but they didn’t change it enough to be anything more than a Cooper with a different roof. I also love to see a cybertruck style muscle car!
I have been waiting to see the new Cayenne GTS for 2 years! Finally! And in my opinion, I prefer the body color lower parts instead of the cladding since it would look a little cheap.
The range rover Velar is the best of the worst.
I think the Velar is more like a normal SUV not a coupe, maybe the Evoque can be compared to these in the video
Hemo Sul I would say that’s their version of a coupe SUV without the sloping roofline that’s falls off to a horrible rear. Now the q8 is another good looking SUV.

Could you do a redesign or update to the Jag XJ? It’s been around for a while and overdue for a refresh. Also would be interesting if you could do an alternative design to the current XJ when it was first introduced in 2010 :)

I personally think that crayon with the black of the sport package makes a stunning contrast... but i think even with the quarzite grey metallic color it would look amazing... so what would you choose between those 2 colors?
What do u think of compact sub or crossover? It’s also trying to combine two different design aesthetics. Macan Audi q3 and the likes Appreciate ur opinion. I loved ur video on the new and old DBS and totally agree that the grill is nice but nose should dive further down and be extended

Both cars on pics have sport package but cayenne coupe has so called light weight sport package, which you can option for regular cayenne too.

Their proportions are so fucked. The bmw is so over styled that it looks obnoxious.
not 4.5, it's actually 4.2 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package, and also, u can get any trim of the cayenne coupe to look like that, from the base cayenne to the turbo S, u just need to add the sport design package and black wheels, so its not only the GTS coupe that looks like that, it's any cayenne coupe... if you're willing to spend the money. Oh and one last thing, you can also get the cayenne coupe's diffuser to be body color, actually, that's the way it looks stock, the black diffuser and black wheel arches are an option
I like the look of the Cayenne and really wanted to love this car. Until I got in a 2021 BMW X6 m50i loaded with executive and premium package, lazer headlights, knock-yourself-off gorgeous leather seating with the most incredible technology that WORKS. I mean, from the glass cut knobs and buttons to the intuitive navigation and BMW commands, twin turbo V8 with 530hp, Tanzanite blue exterior that changes colors.
Honestly, there was no comparison.
For sure, the Cayenne is beautiful and Porsche makes an incredible car. I’ve owned them and I’m a fan. I wanted to love this car. But the BMW was on another level and I drove as fast as I could to buy it as they are hot items, especially with the features I wanted.
When I hear this guy say the X6 looks like a mess it reminds me that there are people who like a vanilla covered Prius. In other words, to each his own. People see my car and jaws drop when I drive up, and also when they hear the engine roaring at normal speed or as I am driving up.
But I didn’t get it for other people, I got it for me.
Really like the Cayenne, but I LOVE my X6 and have zero regrets.

All those low bootline suvs are hideous. Being a tall-ish teenager (6ft 1 and 16) when we went on holiday we had a Mercedes one and i was like ‘great, there is legroom and roof room’ but i got in and my head was sideways and my knees were essentially inside the front seat. It was horrible.
I don't like SUV Coupe but I admit the Cayenne Coupe is the only one which is not so bad but I still prefer the SUV, even if I agree with you about the lower part of the bumper

Honestly, majority of the people never understand handling. And they never use all the available grips on the road. So suv coupe and a sports car feel exactly the same to them. So why not have something that’s spacier, easier to get in and out of?

Lol what’s the deal with people not licking the coupeUVs. They’re weird.....they’re odd......and that’s what’s beautiful about them lol. I love that they look weird. I feel like people expect these things to be practical as as SUV and practical as a car but that’s not the point. Forget the groceries, forget headroom for rear passengers....who gives a crap about them. The point is the status the car represents and the whole weird look and presence on the road.

nobody is talking about, that Lambo Urus is also a 4-door SUV coupe....its maybe not so beautiful...well...non of the 4-door SUV coupes are beautiful....but if want something what lets the rest of this groupe behind...than you should buy Urus...if you want 4-door SUV coupe...(what its in my opionion a ridiculous type of cars...)
The Macan is the only crossover/Suv that I’ll consider to handle like a sedan . Even better i might say . Its as fast as a BMW M2 , and thats just bonkers

These just don't make sense. It's not an SUV or a Coupe. A Coupe is a 2 door car with the roof line stopping well short of the trunk. An SUV is a sport Utility Vehicle. Which these are not. There is NOTHING utility about these things. They are extremely impractical for an SUV.
A coupe CAN NOT have 4 doors. Period.

Actually i find coupe SUVs are becoming attractive. I mean theyre just a lifted more dirt road capable maxi hatchback. If people moan about the luggage space then hell, why do sedans exist when literally all of them are better off as wagons?
