Dahlke keyed shaft pump install

In this video I go over how to take apart in reinstall a gold dredge pump that mounts to a keyed shaft. While I used a dahlke pump in this video it should be the same for any dredge pump that mounts to a keyed shaft ( some Keene, as well as gold grabber pumps).

You might find keyway stock at an auto parts outlet or at a hardware store and cut ✂️ to the required length..
The use of antiseize in the keyway and on the key stock , set screws to prevent a rust locking event in time is advised ... Ask your clerk at an auto store for this antiseize material if your not sure of what it is ...
I always use on anything that can freeze up from
Heat or Rust such as an exhaust 😊 😊 ❤ ........

I’ve removed the pump already and had no issues. The use of silicone was at the manufacturers recommendation.

Good information however were is the key which should have been fitted to the pulley during installation. Never seize should be applied to all parts that fit to the crankshaft otherwise disassembly can be very difficult due to rust and Aluminium corrosion. I never fill the key with silicon as no water will travel through the mechanical seal unless it has been compromised.

Filling the key way with silicone was as per the manufacture instructions. And was told all the compressor pulley needed was the set screw.

How about reminding people to install the belt before reassembly. You have to take it back apart to put the belt on

I use link belts for all my engine combos. That way if a belt breaks in the field I don’t need to remove the pump to replace the belt. Hence the reason there is no belt installed before the pump.
