Excellent!! I too have a wholesale production line and have spent the past 16 years always examining how things can be done more efficiently, accurately and with less waste. Even things like how the studio is set up and the flow of orders from the receipt of orders from sales reps to shipping and every step in between is of the utmost importance to your bottom line. I’ve never made the quantities you have but I didn’t want to get that big. When it I got to the point that for three years the only actual touching of my line was the twice a year designing and making of in-house samples and the rest of the time I was chained to my desk, I became deeply unhappy and decided to roll things WAY back. I went from 13 sales reps back down to my top three and I was once again at a bench making again and that made me so happy. I didn’t do my art as a business so I could just do paperwork! Hahaha!! I love your jump ring soldering technique and will definitely give that a try! Makes total sense to me!! Another good suggestion I received when I first started was from another local jeweler. He said “use as little solder as possible to make the stronger join you can with little to no clean up”. I now pass that onto students. Again, thank you for sharing your passion.
Great video! I rarely use jump rings. When I make bracelets or a rare necklace i roll my own wire sourced from a silver round or bar. then use an actual piece of silver and heat/melt the links together using heat control with creme brulee torches. when i do solder, mostly on rings, i have problems so i do need some more skills in soldering techniques.
Hi Johnathan I hope you are doing well? I live in Holland near the German border. Unfortunately, many people know almost nothing about native jewelry, and I just really enjoy making it. Also gemstone Jewelry. Do you also make this type of jewelry yourself? or have you ever done this? - Greetings you're big fan: Thony
Excellent comment. Yes i do prefer using solder in wire format as opposed to a sheet that you have to cut. I believe i get this from rio grande in Albuquerque new Mexico
You're a genius!!! Awesome tips, stay safe

Hi! I want to learn soldering and plan on making a zillion jump rings... do I use soft solder?
Yes soft solder would work fine. Medium if heavy jump rings
Please make more bus content! I couldnt find you on instagram?
Where do you get the nice skinny wire solder?

@@JewelryRvMe, do you pull it through a draw bench to thin it? I haven't bought from them for awhile but I thought I remembered theirs as thicker.
