10 Best Ways to Find Web Design Clients [FAST]
• 10 Best Ways to Find W...
In this Video I share how I landed and signed my first client for my web design agency. I go into detail on how to land your first agency client without doing any outreach. I didn't send any DMs, cold emails or did any cold calling. The client reached out to me via LinkedIn and after having a zoom call, I signed them as my first Web Design Client!
I also talk about what to do when you have no Work or past Results to show your potential Client, and how to best optimise and how to setup your LinkedIn profile to get clients.

Dude, great job for your first video!!!
Thanks so much!!
wow

😆
I'd say don't be afraid to work for free in the beginning, most business if they are big are going to offer to pay you anyway. My first client job ever I approached a brand I love and offer them a free new website. They were super happy about it and in the end they paid me 1000€ anyways just as a way to say "thank you" 🙂 But even if they don't pay you just ask for client feedback and metrics, you're going to have real project with tangible results to show on your portfolio
Absolutely!
Getting good testimonials is super important and will help you land your next couple of clients!!
Its fare better to offer the client so much value that they would be stupid not to take you up on your deal. Also working for free says your not that valuable in the first place. You don't expect milk or any other product to be free so why should you be free? If your gonna work for free its better to make an garanti that if they are not happy with your service then you will work for free ontil they are. push it to the back end of the agreement. The point being your getting payed.
Patrick dropping some 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for sharing your ideas. Not enough designers talk about (or care about) true strategies to find clients. Everyone just wants the "quick fix" solution but never put in the work. This video is a huge motivator for serious designers.
Let's collab soon!
Coming from the man himself!! 🙏
Thanks so much Payton.
You’ve been a huge inspiration for my journey and this channel!!
Would love to
Nice! I was also able to land 1 client through LinkedIn by optimizing my profile and using the right keywords. But content creation is definitely key 🔑
Awesome Fadi! Yes content definitely helps. Just had another inbound prospect come in from LinkedIn, and he mentioned that the content I posted made him book a call. Keep it up bro!!!
Followed you from TSC, awesome to see you going your own route 🙏
Thanks so much for the support! Even if the content isnt for you, any feedback is always appreciated 🙂
Well done! Even though it might have been luck how you got your first lead, you were very well prepared, convinced the lead of your quality and finally got your first order. I like your approach and good preparation, which is also essential for outreach. I'm excited to see where you go from here.
Thank you for the kind words!!
Killer first video, I'm subscribed and excited to see more of your content
Thanks so much!! Next video out Wednesday :)

I like your video. I definitely got some value
Thanks so much!!
I've always know that youtube channel with still low subs is the gold mine! I'll be rooting for you now on.
I've recently started an agency also and we managed to land our first client on the real estate field. Now my question is should we focus on that niche first only?
Or just get much projects on different sectors.
Thanks Patrick, Greetings from the Philippines.
Hi Juan,
Thanks so much!
And congrats on the first Client 🎉.
I would definitely still be open to working with other industries!
Remember to do a great job with that first client to have a longer relationship!
More videos like this plz😊
Coming soon :)
Hey Patrick, great video! You gave me a new perspective on some of the things. I am wondering tho, how do you get around GDPR laws for emailing or similar laws in the US?
Thank you!!
Do you mean to have in the website or directly emailing prospects?
Thatss so helpful Patrick, Already running video editing agency but now moving forward to setup and grow web agency and found this video helpful, Thankyou for creating amazing content, Lets connect someday in near future.

Hey man, make a video on design decisions
will write that down 👍
This content was very informative, please can you make a video on case studies of the micro website and also on your outreach strategy
Thanks for the kind words!!
Will write that down!!!
@@patrickspiegel thanks man
Just came across your channel and already in love with your journey 😍
Great video, excellent content, and value, and fantastic presentation 👏👏
Regarding the collaboration strategy, honestly, many agency owners fail to recognize the expansion potential of their businesses by collaborating with other agency owners 👀
Pleasure to get to know you, Patrick!
- Ibrahim Lakhanii.
Hi Ibrahim,
Thanks so much for the kind words and feedback!!!
Really appreciate it.
And yeah building partnerships is such a powerful tool to grow!
Yes, we need separate videos for everything you mentioned 😂
😆😆 ok will write that down :)
I'd love to watch a video on the case study
Case-study video will be coming :)
I liked this vid. I would wish you direct a bit more advice for beginners: where do we learn how to build a website? Can you mentoon the course/mentor you used? Should we niche down as we start? Thanks. (Its clear that the main focus of the video is to direct us to discord. But I personally like YT better).
Thanks for the feedback!
Next week I'm uploading a video on the 5 things to NOT do when starting an agency which might help.
And I'll keep in mind to share how i learned building websites :)
Hey! I don't know if it helps you but I'm taking some courses for website building from Udemy which is a good and cheap way to learn any skill. And also there are many great videos on RUclips too, you can search for it. Have a nice learning journey my friend 😊
I agree.
A huge amount of free content out there and especially on RUclips :)
Hey man, I would love to hear your thoughts at this as I think you are pretty much at the same level as we are: We wanted to niche down and decided for a niche. However there are potential clients from other niches who would like to work with us. What is your thought? Reject them or accept them as clients?
Hey thanks for watching the video :)
My question would be; what is the negative or downside of you taking on the other clients (that are not in your niche). If you have other clients that are in your preferred niche and don’t have enough time to take in the other clients, then I would prioritize the niche clients.
But if you have the time and resources to take on those extra clients. Go for it!
You might even learn a new technique or insight when working with an industry that is outside of your normal work.
I hope that helps and would love to know what you decide on doing 😁
@@patrickspiegel Wow thank you so much for the quick response! I’m honestly impressed by the quality of your video! Yes you are right I think. I’m just constantly overthinking this although it could be so easy… I’m pretty sure you know this feeling.
I’ll make sure to inform you on our decision so you can maybe also learn from it! Would you like to connect somewhere, maybe on discord or Instagram?
Thanks so much for the kind words!!
And yeah I know all too well about overthinking things😂.
Sure my discord and Instagram are in the description :)
Speak soon!
Hello Patrick, thank you for sharing this valuable information. Web designing is a field I just got into, how do you build the right design for the right client when they are both in different industries? Thanks, Patrick.
Hi, what do you mean when they are in two industries?
Thanks :)
@@patrickspiegel Yes one might be a restaurant owner and the other offers commercial cleaning services. Is there a process to use for each website or this is where as a web designer you become creative based on the client's needs.
@erasmorivera3966 so generally for service based website the layout is similar with hero / social proof / services etc.
therefore niching down can help with that process :)
@@patrickspiegel awesome, thank you so much!
Pleasure :)
Let me know if you have any other questions@@erasmorivera3966
I have a webdesign agency for like 2 months.. still trying to get my first client😢
Thats no problem haha. Soon you'll get there!!
Make me your first client
Waiting for your usp video
Haha will start thinking about that soon!!
Please I need web design roadmap. I want to learn web design but i didn't know how!!
Will definitely be creating a video on that as I’ve had other people want the same 😁
Please do something with TSC again please.
Haha maybe in the future :)
Please
@@chrishochmeister6055let’s see if I hit 1K subs I’ll have a think 😂😂
not clickbait except thumbnail
How come?
@@patrickspiegel the finger pointing thing, they all do it but good content
@dgrays2800 that’s true sorry 😂
But thank you
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
🙏🙏
Wait, your episode title says, No outreach, but you end up saying do outreach? 😕
Yeah because that’s how I landed my first client :)
great content but many would hate this because of the title. STOP THE CLICKBAITS
I know sorry 😅
I’ll be changing it though today or in the coming days
Okay but what's your Chess ELO?
😆 that will remain a mystery for now
what do you mean by design examples?
As in if you dont have any clients yet, you should create some designs to show that you actually can design websites --> if that makes sense. It also allows you to practise your skills :)
@@patrickspiegel when you say designs do you man build websites? or screenshot of website homepage on your own website?
Like use figma ( a design software) to design some sites, and then if you want build one or two.
Patrick how are you gonna make any real kind of money by selling services for less then 15 dollars a month? You can't hire anyone because you can't afford it, you can't afford training or invest in the company and you will get the worst kinds of clients that are demanding and up your ass all the time because they are poor. Your selling to poor people and poor people cant make you rich! Anything below 1000 dollars is not worth your time or efforts. You should only need 10 clients at a 1000 dollars to be independent. You would need 667 clients to earn the same amount by your current model. I don't know about you but i don't want to service 667 clients to make a decent living. That is nots to me. Think about it over a 100 people complaining that would take up all your time and you would never grow.
I’m confused. When did I say 15 dollars a month?
@@patrickspiegel your website does per client
My frriend, thank you for sharing so much value. I've been a freelancer for 2 years now, and I made all those mistakes (plus MANY more).
I'm also on LinkedIn. Sending you a connection request :)
Hey thanks so much for the kinds words!!
Making mistakes is part of the process ;)
Just connected with you on LinkedIn 👍
