    • @ratiquette
      @ratiquette 4 месяца назад +3

      As a Canucks fan, yep 100%. The Pens are _so_ in the race with games in hand on all the teams ahead of them in Metro. Can anyone explain why you would trade the guy who has the most chemistry with your best player in this situation? Rutherford will want the Canucks to make a move sooner than later if they are going to make one, and in the wildly improbable case where Guentzel _does_ come available they will likely have already gotten their guy. Plus they will be looking for a center before a winger; the idea of Guentzel coming to Vancouver was born when people thought the Canucks biggest need was a winger to line with Pettersson and Kuzmenko. That ship has sailed; Tocchet will not put those two back together.

      @@ratiquette not to mention, Crosby would not allow a Guentzel trade to even happen at all. Especially since we’re basically in the playoffs rn and how well both a playing together rn! Lol

    Jake isn't going anywhere, Dubas will ask for fort knox if you want him, I'm talking a competent 1st or 2nd line goal scorer, first round picks, probably a solid D man as well. Dubas was given his marching orders when he arrived. Get the core back to the Cup without damaging our future. So unless you plan on giving the penguins the keys to the cup next year, you aren't getting jake

    Vancouver cant afford to re-sign Guentzel, they are not throwing all the prospects they have away for him, only way that trade happens has Kuzmenko or big money go the other way.

    • @MajorCanada
      @MajorCanada 4 месяца назад

      Kuzmenko and maybe Hogz. Some kind of pick. That's enough for a run if the Canucks are 100% done with Kuzmenko. Tocc has Hogz and Kuz on a VERY Short leash.
      Sentiment seems to agree 100% between management and coaching, which means Alvin and Rutherford see Hogz and Kuzmenko as bait too.

    48:39 In 1917 when the NHL was created no one wanted to stand in as goaltenders. So Canadians would build their rinks with a beaver's dam at each end, and the beavers who are trying to defend their homes would play in front of the net serving as an early iteration of a goaltender.

    • @mrquirky3626
      @mrquirky3626 4 месяца назад

      That's also why hockey had to go from wooden pucks to rubber ones because the beavers kept eating them and ruining the games.

  • @christhornycroft3686
    @christhornycroft3686 4 месяца назад +1

    I hope not. The assets they'd have to give up to get him would be too much and given their cap situation and OEL's cap penalty really kicking in next season, no matter how much the cap goes up by, he'd basically be a pure rental. I don't think they should be looking for a top 6 forward anyway, but a winger would be ridiculous. If anything, they might want to look at a top 4 veteran stay at home defenseman, hopefully one they can resign or is signed through next season. Even a 2nd line centre would be silly but not as silly as a rental winger. They have a scoring winger, but they insist on killing his confidence so he makes even more mistakes.

    This would be the dumbest thing that Vancouver could do. No way should they give away a bunch of assets for a pure rental. If you two think this is both a good and viable trade for Vancouver to do, then you guys must really enjoy the sounds of your own voices and talking bullshit.
