    7.) Hughes (star)
    8.) Boqvist (good 2nd-3rd pair dman)
    10.) Bouchard (star)
    12.) Dobson (underrated star)
    22.) K. Miller (very good 2nd pair to maybe 1st pair dman)
    23.) N. Lundkvist (Depth dman)
    24.) Sandin (depth dman with pp potential)

    164.) Kesselring (serviceable 3rd pair guy)

    Ovi is up there, maybe #2, but as someone who was born in 1980, Super Mario was a better pure goal scorer. There was no shot he couldn't make. No disrespect to Ovi, but a lot of his goals came from one-timers from the point.

    How close was Fleury to Bergeron in 2003? 3 cup wins, 5 total finals, vezina, 2nd most goalie wins of all time. I think its really close, but I do agree all those selke's and his career was amazing.

    • @tomblade
      @tomblade 7 месяцев назад

      Not close at all tbh. I would even have Corey Perry as the second best player from that draft. Fleury is way overrated due to the fact he played for an all-star Penguins team. He's not even a top 3 goalie from the 2010's!! Vasilevskiy, Bobrovsky and Lundqvist definitely before him. Actually even Price! Lol

    • @NizzyPGH
      @NizzyPGH 7 месяцев назад

      @@tomblade Thanks for the reply bro. -- and its an interesting reply because its crazy how much I disagree with you. I don't think he's overrated I actually think hes underrated. The 2008 & 2009 cup runs he was an utter stud. In 2016 & 2017, at different times in the regular season and playoffs he carried the team. I forget, might have been 2017 for the Penguins but he was the MVP during the regular season for the team. 5 finals, 3 cups. Getting the Vezina and to the finals with Vegas as their star player in the first season was bigger than anything Perry accomplished. I will say, Perry getting that MVP helps his case, but it was nothing but a best stats that year MVP. I'm a big Ducks fan as well, but Perry was a trashcan his last couple years with Anaheim then has transitioned nicely to a bottom 6/role player in the last 5 years here with other teams. I will support your claim there that he has had insane longevity of helping teams win in the playoffs. I think the real answer between us is probably team need. M.A.F. did more for the Penguins with the number 1 pick since they had no goalie, than Perry would have done for the Penguins and vise-versa since Anaheim had Giguere. Fleury did have some stinker years in the playoffs. It was after his father passed away one year, then another year his first born child at a bad time. I'll leave you with this, 2nd most wins all time in the history of the game. Brodeur career .913, Roy career .912, Fleury career .912, he's right there as a top 5-10 range goalie of all time depending on what goalie metrics you look at. I don't even know if I would take Eric Staal over MAF either, I think Bergeron is the only one close. His 2-way game (obviously) has been so strong its hard to pass him up, every year Boston was a contender/had a solid team with him as the 1C.

McDavid could be just the 2nd ever player to reach 2000+ points by retirement. In terms of 100+ point seasons, there is a possibility of him being 2nd to only Gretzky in total 100+ seasons. It would not be outside the realm of possibility to get 4-5 more 100 pointers for him. Ridiculous.

    I know some people might call this take sacrilegious, but I never considered Ovechkin the definitive best pick from the 2004 Draft class, when you had a guy named Evgeni Malkin drafted right behind him. Absolutely no disrespect to Ovechkin as of course he could easily be debated as the best goal scorer of all time. I think Malkin was simply the better overall player, ether way even if you find my take absurd both of them are sure fire hall of famers. But I believe you can have a debate over who the best player was from that draft class.

    Makar is the most overrated defenseman. He's probably the third best at most.

      No kidding, overrated is the exact word I was going to use. He has 1 Norris so far, just one. Orr had like 6 by his age. I only use Orr because that's what people like to compare him to.

    calling makar generational when he's hard carried by mac and rantenan is laughable. quit meat riding, makar is fantastic but put hughes, fox, and dahlin are far better both ways.

      Im a Wings fan so I should hate Colorado, but Makar is by far the best defenseman in the league right now and its not particularly close. Hughes and Dahlin have potential to get there, but Makar is king currently and absolutely generational.
