I love this thing so much, after 10 minutes of playing with it I was smiling ear to ear. Even though it can get super nasty distortion, it’s really easy to tame it with the mix/filter/low cut. VERY happy with the way this box sounds.
I have only discovered OTO company recently and I'm an instant long time fan now. I only wish I discovered them earlier. These boxes are godsend and they kick other similar products of well known names in the butt and out of my house.
I’m in the same boat. Just found this company. Buying them all now. They must of had zero marketing. Have all the eventide pedals but there so different. Have the Heat MK2 but that diff too. So hope I like them when they all start showing up at my door over the next two weeks.
Just got mine today, recorded a prerecorded live set through it using preset 1 with a couple of tweaks. Synths, drum machine and fx. The recorded wav is nice, great compression of peaks and lows to make a fine mitigated dynamics wav with a hint of drive. Definitely a really good stereo output.
Love mine but only have one complain : the saturation it's very hard, even on the first option just a bit turning on the Drive knob already distort the sound a lot. This makes impossible to use the saturation on the master bus, which is my goal. If a mk2 version comes in the future, please make a subtle saturation on the first config.
Had a heat briefly and traded it in to get the Boum, which I'm now waiting on. Lack of gate and no true compressor in the heat. Plus most of the touted distortion engines have a one-trick-pony vibe and aren't suited to live use.
I’d give anything for a Biscuit. Was even considering one I saw used for $1500...but that’s such a stretch. Why is NO ONE doing a good effector like this? I know it was too costly for OTO to keep up production; shame though.
Can it be end of chain mastering tool? I tried the rnc compressor but some peaks are coming through and it doesnt make a proper mastering sausage. Is the BOUM different? Can it act like a proper limiter?
The distortion sounds mangled. Is it just me or does it lack the definition and warmth of Analogy Heat? The sound at 1:24 sounded nice. The rest sounds pretty awful to my ear.
@@ericpeters0n it depends for what you use it, excellent glue compressor to me, for techno music, also consider it is excellent to play live ¨auto gain control ¨
@@oscar7763 hi Oscar, compressor are all expensive, more if you try to find something stereo, take a look anyway to the DBX ´s ones, they are cheap maybe someone fit ur needs and budget. DBX is excellent too, but this one is a bit like a filter and more dirt than DBX which are strictly compressors and gate
I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to replace the valve dbx 386 with this unit for my guitar with digital system & a lot of effects..I like the Dbx make warmer my sound but still needs to be warmed up, compacted and also with digital systems(Mod Dwarf)I have great effects but it has too many resonances on the highs and needs more dynamics so on paper it seems ideal. Mybe is perfect combine it with the dbx but I must sell the Dbx if I want the Boum :(. Last question : Can you create & save your preset ? Thank you ! Ps Important, I don't use Microphone..
Do any of the processors introduce significant delay(overdrive/comp/gate/etc). I would like to use a device like this in an analog environment for parallel processing without big phase issues.

Lol and after tonights Courier Sound set i find myself checking this box of filth out tonight!😜😮😃
Another amazing products from OTO. Quite possibly the best sounding and form factor effector on the market. Great work!

Dope, excellent for the DAWless brigade!
I got an Oto Boum !!! Very good comp and distortion.
I hope they come back in stock soon
Just GREAT device, guys!
Is this great for virtual instrument to sound more analog?
I just bought this mean little beast, it´s a great companion with the Analog Heat which has more options and works as a USB interface...nice couple.
How does it compare to the heat? thanks
Which would you say you prefer for drums/synths?
A bit sad that the LPF doesn't have resonance control, but it sounds nice based on the 1 or 2 sweeps!
That’s the thing that keeps me from getting this thing. Elektron heat ?
wow. reminds me of analog heat a bit, but seems a little more immediate.
THat kick sounds like an explosion in a barrel. Can the Analog Heat do that?
No, but though is more flexible, the OTO is much more snappy. Get both.
May be a strong contender against Elektron's Analog Heat
7 more analog circuts and it would be a winner.
Had a heat briefly and traded it in to get the Boum, which I'm now waiting on. Lack of gate and no true compressor in the heat. Plus most of the touted distortion engines have a one-trick-pony vibe and aren't suited to live use.
No contender here, Heat bows down to BOUM

They're going for much less than that on reverb I think
@@lukerogerson6937 i can sell you mine for 2k lol
Please can you let me know how to factory reset boom ? I have no sound now when it is active only sound when bypassed

sounds great
that compressor algos sounds awesome. i don't know any cheaper solution to have this render. Is it inspired by the distressor ?
reminds me of the Ebbe and flut of Schippmann.
Acoustic Guitar at 2:36
It's not shown enough as a great stereo compressor. Many will think this is just a crunch box.
Is it great?
Glad to hear that. I’m getting it exactly for this.

No resonance control on filter grrrr
Great u put a gate in there awsum

Hi! Does it have a balanced (TRS) or unbalanced (TS) connection on the output? Thanks
rtfm
I buy tools because they work. I don’t always care who’s name is on it. This piece sounds cool, but can’t beat a AH in the options department.😎
Need these on Amazon please!
fuck amazon buy from a dealer or direct.
No LFO? Analog Heat wins!
