Ducky Johnson! His company moved the house I'm living in from Jenks Avenue in Panama City to Youngstown back around '97-'98. It took three semi's to do it as the house was cut into three sections and they did an awesome job. That Mack and some of the others may well have been one of those trucks. This sure brought back some memories!
I think Matt had shown that there’s a community out there that loves the old stuff so they can take them to shows after they rebuild them. Great finds I hope you can get them running. Love the channel you two an Matt are my top two.
Love watching you guys finding the old stuff. I have even drove the odd modals way back in the 60's/70's when I worked on the railway here in Canada. They had whole fleets of International delivery trucks. When I started they even had a few REO trucks left still on the road.
Since you guys usually work on Diesel engines, it's a rare thing that one of them won't fire up, I can only think of a few that have been locked up or had parts missing that weren't able to start for you. I never get tired of you two :-)
That is really a scrapyard paradise lots of fun stuff!! I love to watch hamiltonville farm videos i really do!! Keep on coming!! Cheers from Portugal!!
Thanks for another great video. Was super interesting and enjoyable. Putting your daughter to work doing the intro and closing worked good. Very nice lady. Wow. An old Autocar. Hard to find now days. Will be interesting when you try that one. You can tell he moved houses. A lot of big old super rugged equipment. For moving houses that is what you need. Big old powerful stuff with low gears and heavy steel frames. Interesting. Super hot there as well as here. About 94 today here in central Iowa. Too hot. Take your disk home and have at the sunflower patch. Should work good on that. Looking forward to the video on that. Good to see you and Wiley. Wearing the right boots for sure. About it for now I guess. You both take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Hank and Wiley and your daughter. The Iowa farm boy. Retired Air Force veteran. Steve.
The gold dog appeared in the late 60's, 1967 or 1968. It was used to signify the truck was powered with a Mack Maxidyne engine and had a Maxitorque Mack transmission. After that it was used to signify the elite interior trim package on the CH and CL models in the early 90's. Since 2007 with the introduction of the red Mack (Volvo) engines the gold dog signified the truck had a Mack engine, Mack transmission and Mack rear ends.
That's right and for some reason according to my buddies that are with the Mack museum they say the gold dog took a hiatus in the '80s. And I noticed that even on a purebred or model that my family had back in the late '80s until the early 2000s when they sold it right before my grandfather passed everything in that truck was purebred Mack but it had a chrome dog on the hood and it was a 87 model. I never understood why they did away with the gold dog in the '80s from the factory.
This is my second video, and twice you boys have mentioned Mater as the Superliner. Mater was the tow truck with no hood... The Superliner pulled the racecar Speed McQueen and the Superliner character's voice was Cliff the Mailman from Cheers... And the truck's name was Mac...
Wow, there is content for days in that yard 👍🏻, and if it doesn't work out, you guys could do a spot of fishing 😂. Welcome to your daughter joining the channel 💪🏻
Wiley is correct on the Macks, I worked on a fleet of Mack R models and Superliners, camelback suspension had a lot of travel and worked well for dump trucks.
What a great little hoard, can't wait to see how many you get started, I thought we were at a fashion parade, when saw a model, introducing the video, can't wait for yous to start on those treasures, all the best to yous and your loved ones
That Mack with the Cummins is a Formula, it was between the small cam and big cam , it had more Torque, and better fuel mileage than the small cam. Then the big cam series made better Torque and fuel mileage. Having driven trucks with all three engines, the big cam was the best. I preferred the Mack engine, made better Torque, and fuel mileage than the Cummins, Cat, or 2 stroke Detroits. Just my opinion and not necessarily the opinion of this channel or its supporters.
Man, those Internationals are HUGE! Almost need a elevator to get up in the cab. Just something about them that screams "HEAVY DUTY". I'd like to see one of them run. I'm gonna guess the Taylor is a 60s model. It looks old for sure. Thanks for sharing fellas....can't wait!!! Don't forget to bring the wasp spray! 👍😁
Back in the ‘70’s, and I imagine the ‘80’s, you could’ve ordered an RL series truck with a Cummins, Cat, or screaming’ Detroit. I have a customer with a 04 Mack CL set back axle truck with a Cummins 500 hp/18 speed Fuller/Eaton rears on Hendrickson HAS air ride, and was a heavy haul truck of some sort. The gold bulldog trucks were Mack engine/Mack transmission/Mack rearends and rear suspension, pedigree truck. The old DM800 would surprise you. The V8 engine may have been rated at 325 hp when new. The rear axles are spline at both ends like a sprint car or dirt late model racing axle, except larger and coarse splined. I believe the rears are 52,000 pound capacity. Single stack Mack with a window in the back. A plastic model kit that I remember as being an Ertl kit has been recently rereleased as MPC brand. The blue International is a Paystar 5000 with the transplant hood from a 4300. It would heavy haul like the Mack, but could’ve been a cement mixer truck just as easily.
You guy's should find the Mack that was in the Movie Fire Down Below 1997 with Steven Segal. That semi chasing Steven in the 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup is Sweet!
Respect all time with your dad. It will never come back again it is not a video game or RUclips.. sentimental value. This is why I keep both back a long time ago.
