If you wanna live in michigan move here. Its really nice. Great downtown, lots of cool sights to see and shops to visit. Plus the library is the best ive ever been to
The video I was waiting for! But too late I already got the house in Plymouth township. Basically came to similar conclusions after watching the Novi/Northville/Canton videos. Goldilocks for sure! Spot on review, and the train has made us late to Hockey twice lol. BTW I'm the guy that said hi to you in a parking lot 😆
Grew up my early childhood in plymouth near downtown and moved away as a teen but i will say my time spent hangin out in dtp as a kid will be some of the best memories i have lol
LOL the trains. I was literally late to my first house showing because of that train. It just seems to catch me every where I go. Sometimes the same train twice.
Thanks Paul! I was wondering when you would do a video on Plymouth. I have lived in the Township 30 years and do believe it is Metro Detroit’s Goldilock community.
My train horror story from Plymouth. I have this e-bike with big fat tires on it. And I got caught by the train and waited about 15 minutes before I got inpatient and decided I wanted to ride along the train tracks on the rocks. The train was still going for another 10 minutes as I went along and eventually it ended right as I got to haggerty.
CSX has diamond junction that routes trains in 4 different directions. Not to mention a yard where they constantly switch cars. So yes, train traffic is busy.
Downtown Plymouth and Downtown Northville are hands down the most adorable downtowns in SE Michigan. 100% recommend Barrio. Everything is delicious and such a fun vibe. So many festivals in DTP. Also, the farmer's market at the Gathering.
I grew up in Canton and always felt like like dowPlymouth was downtown Canton. I ent to elementary school inCanton,Middle school in PlymouthPlymouth and back to Canton for High school. Now, I only go to Plymouth to go to downtown Plymouth for a huge comic book store, State of Comics and to get spare keys made.😊
It's funny you say that - was just talking to friends who grew up in Canton and in my mind, it was "Downtown Plymouth Canton". That comic book store is AMAZING. I'd love to feature it in a vid.
PCEP and U of M alum: PCEP is a high school that effectively has around 6,000 students, which is twice as big as Dakota High School (Michigan's single high school with the biggest student population). Also, you're correct; technically PCEP is three different high schools, but as a student you spend nearly equal time in each building and your "home" school only matters for sports. PCEP's size is its greatest strength and greatest weakness. When you aggregate Plymouth, Canton, and Salem's stats (which is how students experience school there), PCEP is the 6th largest feeder school for U of M. To be honest, general-ed classes aren't particularly good at PCEP. But due to the sheer size of the campus wide population, you have tons of opportunities for well taught AP or IB classes and good school-hosted extracurriculars. As of 2023/2024, PCEP offers 21 AP classes and 20 IB classes. For comparison, Northville High offers 22 AP courses and 18 IB courses. It's pretty easy to get lost in the crowd there. But by joining student orgs and taking as many AP and honors courses as I could, I experienced PCEP as kind of a "school within a school". And if your student at PCEP is part of the cohort that takes 2-4 AP classes per year (i.e. they are actually taking advantage of PCEP's strength), they almost always graduate from universities that are as selective or more selective than MSU (or they attend less competitive universities for little to no tuition)
very minor correction; I think you implied that your sports/ home high School selection at P-CEP is based on location, but that's actually determined by a random draw if you're the first born student of your family, or if you're one of the ladder siblings you can either choose to retain the high school choice your older sibling got or re-draw. To be fair I went through this process in 2015 so maybe you have more updated information than I do.
@@PaulWolfert that’s a great idea!!! just remember to mention that dairy go round is NOT an allergy free facility that refuses to comply with dietary and medical requests by customers… i’ve had multiple allergic reactions at diary go round…
Oh please. I live near Plymouth my whole life and before our recessions in 2008 and 2020 we had upwards to 40 trains a day. Now it’s like 12-15 a day. Just stop. I wish we had more. I’ve been to places where there’s well over 30 trains a day. 12-15 is nothing.
Well, I guess I just can't resist the spotlight! But I appreciate your feedback and I'll definitely work on finding the right balance between being in front of the camera and showcasing more subject material.

😅😅 nice! Excellent choice! Still wish I could have helped you guys 😁....if you ever move, get in touch!
I live in Plymouth and i love it!
Great job. I have lived in Plymouth Township for decades and your analysis is accurate. Also there are many more great restaurants to pick from.
Thank you! Wish I could have included all of them. Might need to start making videos all about restaurants

Love that! How long ago? DTP is still one of my favorites
@@PaulWolfert about 10 years ago. I drove thru town recently for the first time in years and it was nice it seemed alot busier than it used to be
Plymouth has the best older homes. The best part. The park I have been going to since I was a little girl. Love it
Great video Paul! Awesome job … waiting for the Franklin video
Have a great day and a awesome week
Thanks Joey! I'll make my way there eventually 😅
@@PaulWolfert awesome. Thank you for all of your hard work. Have a wonderful one
Great content. Hoping to see more from you!

Glad you enjoyed it! I agree 100%!
That's a beehive now.
Hines Drive...if you are a cyclist, runner..etc. You'll dig this road
Hines Drive is the best! It was my favorite place to ride my motorcycle too. So peaceful.

I agree 1000%! Was happy to see that they increased the size of Barrio. Was a little cramped

Thanks Paul love your videos I'm a Michigander also great job❤😊
Thank you!
Awesome area downtown is amazing
I Live here, I am Proud to be a Plymouth Michigan Citizen.
Livonia has 4 high schools. Stevenson, Churchill, Franklin, and Clarenceville. Clarenceville is the armpit of Livonia’s public education
Clarencville is its own thing. Made a few videos all about Livonia. I graduated from Churchill.

I live in plymouth, mi very nice area. Kind of pricey but nice area.
That is where I live
Grew up in plymouth, loved it. But all of a sudden the people turned into rich hoity toity snobs.
you never mentioned dairy king in the dtp part… very disappointing 😂
I should do a dairy battle - Dairy King Vs. Dairy-Go-Round...

What about the climate? Believe it is quite cold throughout the year? No?

I can't find a condo in Plymouth they are all full

And university?
I moved out for the reason too many tourists!
Don't move here, the train surrounds the city and you cannot get out.
I definitely mention that in the vid! 😅
It is like a moat around a castle, no one gets in, no one gets out.
I love how you have to put Detroit in the title because no one would know this middle of nowhere city with a racist smell to it lol
You spend a little too much time in front of the camera, instead of showing us more subject material. Good video, otherwise.

Maybe if you want to be suicidal and bored to death Plymouth is fantastic.
Plymouth is a very nice town. I love living here. Its the best place ive ever been to
