One of the biggest forms of slavery today is debt. Make it your goal to eliminate debt, especially credit card debt. It will eat you alive. Learn to live within your means, and you will have many more choices in life.
My #1 piece of advise is STOP going to Starbucks three times a day!! I'll be you spend $20/day on specialty drinks - not money well spent. Also, stop eating out or getting take-out!! Learn to cook at home (not meal kits, either) - buy a slow cooker or instant pot. You'll be happier and have more bonding experiences with your friends/family - not your Uber Eats from Panera Bread.
Love this. I've raised six children and have always cooked from scratch 7 nights per week. I agree about the meal kits, they are so overpriced! Cooking basic meals requires similar ingredients. Keeping a reasonable stocked pantry and freezer of basic food items ensures you can always cook a meal quickly. Buying one ingredient items reduces your food spending a lot. I never buy jars of sauces etc , just make my own.
@geawillemse3513 Cooking meals at home is much easier than you think. As you said, keep basic ingredients on hand (items that are in the majority of your recipes), such as onions, potatoes, garlic, pasta, etc. and you should be OK. I have an herb garden, also (basil, flat-leaf parsley, thyme, chives, rosemary). In summer, we have a vegetable garden. Use your imagination with meals, know what you and your family like to eat, and then make that.
i think the key point here is goals and ambitions! we live in a world of so many distractions and luxury items that became necessities and we tend to get lost on what we really need and what we want to become
Currently we have a 6.2 inflation rate and is the worst in 31 years. Anyone who has a bit of money has to be budgeted. It is really hard for seniors to handle things, then everything is going up at outrageously crazy pace.

This was very informative but left out some of the specific items to eliminate to save money! Firstly, stop or don't start smoking! It now costs around $10.00 a day or roughly $300. a month to smoke, double that for a couple! Next, cut down or stop drinking alcohol at bars or restaurants! If you must drink, do it at home! Lastly, bring your lunch & a drink to work & not buy it out! You'll save a fortune over a lifetime!

I find your video so interesting. I live frugally but I have done everything I wanted to I have no mortgage no debts I invest some and enough emergency fund I have great dicipline with money and my kids are the same. I made sure if I charge something I can pay the bill in full.I never buy car making payments always cash and keep it for years .I know many people don't have any money in the bank let alone cash
Here is another time trap habit. Example: you drive with a car to the gym in 20 minutes, back 20 minutes again. Workout itself 30 minutes. Showering, and maybe Smalltalk with a buddy 30 minutes. You always loses 1:40 with a gym day… maybe you reward yourself after workout with a BS-Fastfood meal… 20 minutes more… bang! you lose 2 hours in summary and extra money on food, and gas. Next problem: you will procrastinate when you come home. You don’t start anything when you know, your time before bedtime is too limited. The better way: stand up one our earlier, workout at home with dumbbells, etc and have free time in the evening. In this order you will find 3, 4 or 5 hours per day to build a sidehustle, and stay healthy. It also forces you to work on a long term goal. Head up! And when you think you have no goal, be aware: a good body is still your first long term goal…
We have a short time on this gorgeous planet, which we are destroying by our expensive habits. *_1_* Let’s live a simple life. To be healthy and happy we only need clean air, pure water, good homemade organic food, a few clothes, and a good apartment. *_2_* Leave these habits to the rich-going to the movies and theaters, rock concerts, stadiums, and pricey restaurants and boutiques. *_3_* Have a debit card, not a credit card. *_4 Totally_* avoid fast food, junk food, and all (il)legal drugs (including coffee, tobacco, and alcohol). *_5_* Use public transportation as much as possible. Keep plane trips to a minimum. *_6_* Buy used clothes and shoes; stop buying designer clothing (Armani, Gucci, etc). *_7_* Use little heating and cooling (from 65 °F to 79 °F). *_8_* Keep washing dishes and doing laundry to a minimum. *_9_* Shower for five minutes three to four times a week. 💕☮🌎🌌

HAVING a credit card is the start of a person's downfall! Everybody says "get a c.c." I say "why"? If you DON'T HAVE the CASH, then you CAN'T AFFORD IT! And WHY make PAYMENTS that you CAN'T AFFORD to make, when had you SAVED the MONEY, bought the item outright, then you wouldn't have to KEEP PAYING for something years down the road!
All you have to do is spend less than what you make. Simple. After I went minimalist and reflected on my main values and future goals, there's been no stress in my personal life. (Work life and still stress me out sometimes though hahaha) The best thing you can do to make your life better is learn how to organize your time. Don't overcomplicate anything.

$25 sunglasses are expensive sunglasses. I buy mine at the dollar store. They can last months with proper care.
