Another QR Code and Bar Code danger is leaving those stickers on delivered packages you receive when you recycle or trash the empties. Anyone can get a free QR Code or Bar Code reader app for a cell phone and get your private information from them. It is not enough to just remove your typed name and address anymore. Remove the stickers with QR and Bar codes too.
The best thing for retirement healthcare is for retired service members. I didn't realize, that when I transitioned to being a "gray-area retiree" I was eligible for Tricare, years before Medicare kicks in. I got into it after already spending nearly all of my maxed out HSA benefits. Now, as a Medicare recipient, I find that Tricare is my Part D Supplement and it's free! I am so glad that I stuck it out and completed my Reserve service. My life isn't all roses, but being a responsible citizen has made some things just a bit better.
Clark, I found you over 15 yrs ago when living in Alpharetta/ Cuscowilla . I now live back in Tx. And still a huge fan. I am so grateful for you and your show. Your caring, kindness, and smarts shine through! I love your sidekick Christa too. God Bless you both! I appreciate you Clark! Marchand from Euless, TX
If they don’t have a physical menu I can leave and go to another restaurant. Even as a millennial it is so much easier to read off the paper than the phone. I never pay meals by QR code. The one that annoys me most is the parking lot QR code when there is literally no where else to park without walking a marathon to get where you need to be
As always, I enjoyed the show. Just want to point out that if you are in NY state and in good health, you should go on "disadvantage" plan to save a lot of money. If your health takes a nose dive, you can always switch to a crazy expansive (and getting more expansive by the minute) supplemental plan without underwriting.
We just traveled to New Zealand for two weeks and used Google Fi successfully. I activated it a week before leaving and cancelled once we were home in Texas.
#BonusTerm #LifeHackTerm - “Abit” or “Appit”: A term coined by Clark. When using an app turns your behavior into a habit. Such as “getting your steps in.” Can be good or bad, depending on the app. Thanks, Clark!
WiFi calling (enabled in your phone's settings), which I assume is available on most phones and from most carriers, is probably good enough for 95% of people traveling abroad, and it is free. When I'm on vacation, not being reachable 24/7 is sort of the point of leaving the country! If you're visiting the EU, you are probably going to find that public WiFi is readily available and pretty fast.
I need an extra large 3 ring binder to keep Clark notes. Every time I watch a show I worry about other shows I’ve missed and what nefarious characters are waiting in the wings that are going to rip me off.
Everyone on Medicare, Disadvantage plan or original Medicare, pays part B premium unless one qualifies to get some money back from the Disadvantage plan.
The problem is no one at work says no....they just obey when they are told take your phone out and scan the QR code...when I say I am using the work issued laptop to log in to do it they / everyone looks at me like I am strange......and this is for trainings at a public school...educators are made to scan barcodes and qr codes for everything....this is in a small Texas town.....I DO NOT want to scan anything with my own personal phone, but it is getting harder to decline doing it since I need to work and they want me to do it on MY phone.
I am surprised the thieves haven't figured how to utilize these temp sim cards you buy to gain access to your phone . I have yet to find a razor that has the sharpness and longevy of the Gillette Mach 3 . More than 3 blades seem to not work as well for me . I did get a $3 coupon at Dollar general for $4 blades with got me down to $9 . That may get me a year or longer use of razors . So about 2 cents a day . I did try the knockoffs once and never again
Thanks for the QR warning. Glad that I never downloaded one and just removed the app to read them from my cell phone. Use my 3% cash back credit card for everything and check both of my credit card and savings accounts twice a day.
Biggest problem with buying a SIM or eSIM for travel. You will not have access to your US phone # for texts. Which means no way to get Verification texts or 2 step authentication text code that your Credit Card company or Bank sends you because you just did a foreign charge and they need you to verify charge - which would lead to you losing access to your bank or credit card.
I'm ALWAYS telling my husband, "Please do NOT click on any link sent to your phone via text for ANY reason." Sigh. He falls for that stuff all the time. Thankfully, non of our financial /personal information is linked to his phone at all.
I was scammed by using a QR code to pay for parking in Perth CBS, Australia. Never used one before but it came up on a website wanted my bank credentials etc and I entered them, thinking it was the Perth council parking site. Instead, after entering the details, they took US $2.99 from my account without asking for the car license plate or length of time. Then I got an email from a gaming site sayng thanks for signing up. I had to cancel my card. Phoned the councl but they said there was nothing wrong with the machine. Will never use one again.
11:2313:2514:00 I've commented before but, I'm on the Henson Shaving bandwagon. (Henson comes from guys who used to make parts for NASA from North America [Canada]) The razor is an aerospace grade machined aluminum safety razor, which comes with 100 free double-edged blades. BEST shave since my straight razor if not better. This particular one is a bit pricey on the front end but, since you can buy off the shelf blades ($0.10 if you buy another 100 pack through Henson) the amount you save on blades over a lifetime is 🍌🍌🍌!!! I'm going on two years in and have barely used just over 5 blades.. If anyone is interested I can share a discount code or you can get one from one of your favorite RUclipsr 😆 HAPPY S[h]AVING!! 🪒🧔

Wow!!
Life is getting so much harder with all this technology!
Seems like a new scam everyday!
Agree

I love that idea having a pic of Clark in my wallet/purse with a face like “uh excuse me 🤨” 😂

Good show 👍
I've never owned a cellphone. When they tell me to "scan the QR Code" I stare at it for a few seconds and then tell them "Nothin's happening!"
😂😂💚 Good for you - not getting sucked into cell phones like the rest of us!
😂

We love Google Fi! We've awarded it our "Best Overall" international phone plan. 💚
Back when Drug Emporium was having their going out of business sale, I bought my lifetime supply of Gillette Trac 2 blades. So gladI did!

Plan G is the gold standard for Medicare. Advantages plans are known as disadvantages plans

Great FREE tip, Clarkie! 🙌

Just use the search function on his website
😂
good idea
WWClarkDo.. Wrist Bracelet Merch? ;)
Love it! 💚 We use to do a WWCD series of questions on our Instagram.
Great broadcast. Is there anyway to block or secure info from these dirtbags?

Educators use QR codes for students constantly. I refuse to use my phone to sign to anything with a QR code.
Something is pushing those QR codes really hard. It think it's wef/the great reset (where everything in existence is digital).

Yeah, the Medicare Supplement is really the only valid option. G or GHD.
Can we have the Clark Bobbleheads return? Please 🥺🥺🥺

ATT international coverage is $10 per day. Unlimited text, talk, data. Kicks in automatically.
Gets expensive after a few days.
Time to go back to one phone in each home.
They're making those $$$$. They want people having cells. If you're willing to pay the$$$$, you can get a landline.

That whole QR code thing was an obvious scam from day 1. I have no idea why anyone would randomly scan those things.
It's part of the great reset, places are given incentives to push the qr codes.

Yes we men do not take to heart our intelligent spouse…
Hmmm ... I thought the HLN show was longer ago than 15 or 16 years 🤔
I want a small picture to put in my wallet!
Four interruption$ for commercial$ inserted in RUclips during your podca$t. Not including the two before the podca$t came on.
Thanks for flagging for us. We'll look into it. 💚

I don’t think many of the AT&T share holders are very rich anymore lol
Don't scan QR codes. I tape over them whenever possible.
Clark ONLY bring up the problems. But NEVER a real answers.😢
This is difficult for elderly who have flip phones.
Put Clark’s photo in the bedroom so he’s the first thing you see when you wake up. 😀
