It would be great to have single wing & Rockne box formation in college ball again. Ideally, the TB, FB, HB should each have the ability to make a pass just like the QB. In this way the attack is diversified thereby promoting more offense. Of course, this would usually be for short yardage but the backs are still free to make long passes if the WR is free.
it would never work. Way to predictable in its formation and motion. Plus a very tight formation that doesn't allow for much space. Todays defensive athelets are way too fast. Also the 2008 dolphins did this work for most of the season until playoffs
This was only about a half-century after the end of the Civil War. Racist attitudes still prevailed, and open discrimination prevailed. Notre Dame did not have an African American player until 1953. Howard Jones had one great African American star at Iowa, and later a handful at USC, including the school’s first All American, but then none for about two decades after.
Knute Rockne invented the role of the modern football coach. Before there was Lombardi, Bryant, or Saban there was Rockne. Every successful coach today owes a debt of gratitude to him.
Well, you’re talking about a guy who coached his last game 93 years ago. I’m not clairvoyant enough to know how things would work out after the trip through the time machine.

Future head coach Hartley "Hunk" Anderson can be seen wearing the darker sweat clothes and light colored ball cap.

I agree. This is something I've thought about for quite a while. It would be good for a team that doesn't have a good QB.

What's your winning percentage?
@@rocknejones2211 ROFL. Rockne would probably not win a game in conference play in the Mighty SEC.
