    Hi Camden David. Generally nice tips on both Istanbul and Cappadocia. I am compelled to add, 1. Maybe skip the Hot Air Balloon. Take a few instagram shots from the ground. 2. Don’t forget the even “far away” towns, which provide true peace at the very finest hotels and are still all served by tour company pickups (looking at you Mustaphapaşa) - we stayed at Cappadocia Estates. And 3. You can hire a car and driver through the hotel (well we could), rather than renting a car. Even without common language we enjoyed our driver (Hi Şefki!) and the experience he brought. Thanks for the video.

    I just have been in cappadocia, it was really beautiful. I travelled with a group so everything was organized. We just couldn't manage the balloon ride - the first day it was cancelled, and for the next days they wanted more money, 400€ instead of 280, but we didn't want to spend so much money on it.

    Hello David, i am going to capadocia next week, but i am doubting if you pay a guide to visit around, we have our own rental car. The price of the guide is between 250-320 euros without food of entrances, that is why i am doubting if visiting by ourself of payment the guide. Txs a lot for the tip :)

      Hmmm, that's such a tough question to answer. I'm sure the guide will be able to provide extra informational that will enhance your experience. But in my experience, it's not necessary if you're on a tighter budget. No wrong answer really -- just depends on what you're hoping to get out of the experience. But I hope you have a wonderful visit!

    Thanks for this informative vedio. We are going to Cappadocia in October. Any suggestions for weather at that time ? Also how far is hot air balloon place from the hotel which is in urgup? And will the hot air balloon companies cover the pick up and drop from the hotel which you told in the vedio ? I think hot air balloon is in another town ?
    And is there a roof top patio from where we can see the balloons flying in the morning

    • @camdendavid
      @camdendavid  5 месяцев назад +2

      October should be a great month for weather (although I haven't visited at that time). I'd probably pack long-sleeves and definitely a jacket for the hot air balloon. All the hot air balloon companies make pick-ups & drop offs from the hotels (they'll arrange that with the hotels). It probably took us 15 minutes to drive to the actual site on the morning of the flight. There is a roof top patio at the Sacred House but it's not really known for being a spot to watch the balloons in the mornings. I hope that helps!

      You can't know exactly the weather but nights and mornings gonna be cold that's for sure. Days could be hot or cool but nights are gonna be cold in October. Even August nights are pretty cool. I checked it was around 11-12c(55f if american). So in October it is gonna be colder of course.

      Hi! Turkish here. I've visited Kapadokya several times in the summer and also once in the dead of the winter. It's lots of open air museums and geopark type of places, which is not comfortable to do in the summer heat. So October sounds really great, because you'll have nice chilly weather, and the colors of the trees turning will blend beautifully with the rocks (yes I am super romantic about that place, lol). Although I have to say, the geological formations (fairy chimneys and such) appear absolutely dreamy when covered in snow as well. Enjoy your travels!
