"The Ancient Gods - Part One is the first campaign expansion for the critically acclaimed DOOM Eternal.
Your war is not over… slaying the Khan Maykr left an imbalance of power that threatens all of creation. The ending makes sense in a weird way, only enemy the Slayer hasn't faced yet is himself, so it makes sense that his own personal demon became the Dark Lord
What if in the end the Slayer reigns over Hell and turns Hell into a legion that helps other realms

For the ending, idk but I feel like the dark lord is not entirely DoomGuy himself. The dark lord’s life essence may just be the manifestation of what the demons deem their lord, in this case since DoomGuy has been the greatest threat to them, they deem him as the most powerful being in hell so effectively making them the Dark lord in the demon’s eyes.
Sine there are other dimensions there’s one where doomguy became evil and probably became the dark lord. The doomguy we play as is like good guy in the sense he wants to kill all of hell were as the evil one wants to conquer everything to make it his hellish kingdom.

So, does this mean that the Slayer’s Sigil is also the Dark Lord’s because it was the only symbol that was worthy of him? Or because it was his all along?

I think they both have worthiness related to the mark. I think the Dark Lord is strong as fuck but the Slayer is quite literally the embodiment of a raging machine. Anyone as determined as the Slayer would rip everything up the ladder to shreds if it means peace, and I'm pretty sure that's just what the Slayer'll do.
@@NightGD Maybe you are right. When facing the Icon of Sin, Hayden said "two titans meet", which tells us that the Doom Slayer is a titan, the strongest demon of all. If the Dark Lord is an immortal being that can only be kill by the Slayer, it means he's a titan too. In other words, the Icon of Sin, the Dark Lord and the Doom Slayer are all beings of the same demon race, however the Icon of Sin could be the Unholy Prophet(look at the Apocalypse in the Bible) and both the Dark Lord and the Doom Slayer could be the "Beast", which would mean that they are the one of a kind (two in this case) between the demons. And also explain why the Doom Slayer has so much compatibility with demon energy.

@@batuhangocer6642 it is a classic but then you have to remember this is the very person who started the Demon Invasion back in Doomguy's own Universe. This mean Doomguy just realized it was a version of himself who lead the demons into his home and caused the death of his pet rabbit Daisy.
There must be a large amount of other emotions being mixed in right now with his even larger rage due to this revelation.

The only thing I kinda wished about this game is that our good friend Doomguy's face was just slightly more obscured. Like I wish you could only make out details in say well lit environments or in super close ups where the rest of the time he's more faceless.
Like the game loses legit nothing because you can see his face somewhat clearly, its mostly just my personal preference.

I technically called it! I thought to myself “What if Doomguy becomes the devil because of him killing off Saten?” because all demons fear him, Micheal, and their own leader. Because of this, it would leave questions on how we could actually figure it out. And this makes sense because he ended up making a deal with the devil last time to bring his son back but ended up being mortal enemies. And due to this, this created so much folklore about DOOM for years, even the directors made some as well. But what truly makes sense is that DoomMarine from DOOM3 IS actually The Dark Lord (Satan) because we never really got to see him again because of DOOM3 not being so good (sorry fellow fans) but it was able to create some questions because we were almost tricked in DOOM 2016 cause if you didn’t get all the logs, you really wouldn’t have known that the slayer is the original Doomguy because of his new armor, the new backstory, and the whole new technology. Doomguy has been the most feared thing in Hell AND in Heaven now. So it could make sense that he would end up as the devil himself. And therefore it’s technically correct. Basically what happened is that what I’m guessing is that Doomguy is the reincarnation of Satan and that’s why the demons feared him, causing him to have a bunch of anger issues, and to be feared throughout all dimensions. Therefore, Doomguy is facing off against DoomMarine because of the inter dimensional portals that connect to different timelines, planets, dimensions, etc. This shows that the developers have planned this for some time and have expected it to be made done in a DLC, causing people who defeated eternal to think “Oh so it’s the same ending like Doom 2, Satan calls his demons off and Doomguy wins. Okay” WRONG! What happens is that because of this DLC adding more and more storyline and background to these amazing games (except DOOM3) is because they were plotting a way to probably end the whole series off with a big, and I mean BOG finale. All in all, it’s two other dimensional beings, going fist to fist with one another, both having divine powers, both being feared by Hell, Heaven, and Earth, and making it the fairest fight we’ve ever, and I mean EVER gotten in DOOM. What do you think? Sorry for the long comment too lol

Here's what's gonna happen:
Demon Lord Doomguy is actually an older doomguy who has to keep Hell awake, as disappearing Hell would mean the imbalance of reality (there needs to be a hell where bad guys go to and a heaven where good guys go), so Doomguy is stuck in a perpetual loop of having to basically fight himself, take the demon lord's place and spawn a new Doomguy to kill him, making sure that Hell never invades any other place.
It feels weird playing doom without gordons songs.
I do not entirely unterstand why the Slayer destroyed the Father's life sphere and betrayed all Maykrs. Well, I hope Part 2 answers open questions for all of us

Not particularly happy with the Samur/ Samuel reveal. I saw it coming, but I wish I had been wrong. I much prefer Samuel Hayden as an ambitious genius. I would have much preferred if he had ended up doing something selfish (but good in his eyes) like combining his essence with Samur Makyr and then losing control. Idk... it just seems like his old character has been wasted.

Imagine how cool it would've been if the Doom Slayer got into that giant Mecha robot to fight that huge boss at the end. Like when getting to it you're like casually slaughtering everything in your path then outta nowhere 2 other giant demons join the fight, then you manage to kill two but the last one destroys your Mecha suit (jumping out before it self destructs) and you have to finish the job solo, sounds ridiculous but one could dream....
